Abstract

This study aims to improve numeracy skills through the use of number card media for grade II students at SDK Nuabosi. This research is a qualitative research. This research was conducted from August to December 2023 at SDK Nuabosi. The subject of this research is grade II students of SDK Nuabosi totalling 24 students, while the object of this research is the improvement of numeracy skills by using number card media. Data collection methods using test techniques. Based on the discussion and analysis results, it can be concluded that numeracy learning using number card media can improve the numeracy skills of grade II students of SDK Nuabosi. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the numeracy skills of students before using number card media in learning obtained an average value of 60.67 with a percentage of 60.67%, and is in the sufficient criteria. After using the number card media, the numeracy skills of grade II students of SDK Nuabosi increased significantly, namely the average score of 72.5, the percentage of 72.5% was in the good criteria and classically increased to 83.33% exceeding the KKM determination of 70%. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of number card media is considered effective in improving the numeracy skills of grade II students of SDK Nuabosi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi membaca melalui pendampingan gerakan untuk meningkatkan minat baca pada siswa kelas V di SDK  Nuabosi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDK Nuabosi Kabupaten Ende Tahun 2024. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SDK Nuabosi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan menggunakan lembar observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis datanya menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan mengambil kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa pojok baca berperan sangat penting untuk menumbuhkan dan meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa kelas V SDK Nuabosi. Dengan adanya pojok baca, peserta didik dapat memanfaatkan pojok baca sebagai fasilitas membaca dan juga sebagai tempat yang nyaman dan menarik untuk meningkatkan minat membaca. Pojok baca dikelola oleh guru dan juga siswa yang bertujuan untuk mengenalkan siswa pada sumber belajar yang menyenangkan. Pendampingan gerakan literasi sekolah meningkatkan minat bacapada siswa kelas V SDK Nuabosi sebagai bagian gerakan literasi sekolah (GLS) pembiasaan membaca 15 menit sebelum kegiatan belajar mengajar dan juga sebagai bahan referensi dan diskusi pada saat kegiatan pembelajaran.

Abstract

This research aims to improve reading literacy skills through planning and utilizing reading corners for grade IV students at SDK Nuabosi. This research was carried out at SDK Nuabosi, Ende Regency in 2024. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The subjects of this research were fourth grade students at SDK Nuabosi. The research method used for collection uses observation sheets, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research show that the reading corner plays a very important role in growing and improving the reading skills of class IV students at SDK Nuabosi. With a reading corner, students can use the reading corner as a reading facility and also as a comfortable and attractive place to increase interest in reading. The reading corner is managed by teachers and students with the aim of introducing students to fun learning resources. Utilization of the reading corner in class IV of SDK Nuabosi as part of the school literacy movement (GLS), habit of reading 15 minutes before teaching and learning activities and also as reference and discussion material during learning activities.
