Abstract

Writing personal experience essays aims to improve students' skills in conveying ideas, ideas, and vocabulary development so that students' writing skills are more focused. Therefore, learning to write needs serious attention so that students are confident to express their ideas. Based on the root of the problem, researchers try to improve students' writing skills in personal experience essays. This research method uses the type of Classroom Action Research. The research subjects were 25 students of class VII SMP Negeri 6 Ternate. The data analysis technique used was descriptive qualitative. The results of this study showed that the ability to write personal experience essays in cycle one there were 17 students in the sufficient qualification, while cycle two experienced an increase of 24 students.

Abstract

This research raises the issue of the shift of koloncucu regional language that occurs in the social sphere in the Toboleu village community. This research aims to find out the shift of koloncucu regional language to Ternate Malay language and the factors that influence the occurrence of the language shift. The method in this study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research. In this study, two stages of research were used, namely: 1) data collection through observation, interview, documentation, while data analysis is done by the process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of the study indicate that Koloncucu regional language has shifted to Ternate Malay language because some of the most dominant factors are the main causes of the shift of Koloncucu regional language to Ternate Malay language, namely migration factors and educational factors. The migration factor is that many people from other areas who are Ternate Malay speakers migrate to Toboleu village and the population exceeds the original community of the village. Educational factors are often also the cause of language shifts, because schools always introduce a second language to their students who are originally monolingual, become bilingual and eventually leave or shift the first language.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan unsur intrinsik, unsur ekstrinsik, dan aspek literasi kritis pada cerpen. Sastra mengandung pertanyaan tentang hidup dan kehidupan. Pendekatan literasi kritis diperlukan untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran kritis pada diri pembaca agar senantiasa berempati terhadap permasalahan di masyarakat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian adalah cerpen berjudul “Lelaki yang Ditelan Gerimis” karya Mustafa Ismail. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan unsur intrinsik terdiri dari judul, tokoh dan penokohan, latar, alur, sudut pandang, gaya bahasa, dan tema. Unsur ekstrinsik yang ditemukan meliputi kondisi sosial dan budaya. Analisis literasi kritis menemukan bentuk ketidakadilan atau ketidakberdayaan yang dialami oleh masyarakat, khususnya tokoh Suman. Literasi kritis melihat ideologi yang disampaikan pengarang dari sudut pandang yang berbeda. Pengarang berusaha membangkitkan kesadaran kritis pembaca melalui permasalahan yang dihadapi tokoh Suman agar menjadi pribadi yang pantang menyerah dan berempati terhadap masyarakat.
