Abstract

This research is making use of descriptive qualitative method. The data are collected with the method of Sudaryanto (1993) that is listening and interviewing method, make use the technique of free listening and interviewing with a list of questionaire. This research makes use the theory of Burning (1970) and Koentjaraningrat (1980) to answer the first problem, and of Spradley (1979) and Casson (1981) to the second one. The result of this research shows that the consanguinal kinship terms are Baba (father), Tou (grandfather), Wos (ego’s father), Galawewe (father of ego’s grandfather), Karekare ( grandfather of Ego’s grandfather), Baay (ego’s mother), Nene (mother’s mother), Nenewos (mother of nene), Nenegalawewe (mother of nenewos), Nenekarekare (mother nenegalawewe). Nikmapin (wife of masculine ego), Nikmon (husband of feminine ego), Tamno (ego’s elder brother),  Thano (ego’s younger brother), Damo 1 (ego’s sister), Damo 2 (ego’s brother), Mtu (ego’s child), Bbu (ego’s grandchild), Bbuwos (child of ego’s grandchild), Bbugalawewe (grandchild of ego’s grandchild), Bbukarekare (buyut dari ego). Afinal kinship terms: Nikmon (husband), Nikmapin (wife), Tafu (brother in-law), Hono (sister in-law), Iho (in-laws), Akmomon (wife’s father), Akmomapin (wife’s mother), Haliha (mother/father in-laws), Kanglolo (elder brother of father or mother), Kangkutu (younger brother of father or mother), Baaylolo (mother’s elder sister), Jojo (mother’s younger sister). Other kinship terms include: Jau (Allah), Kakang (guru ngaji), Engku (masculine teacher), Encik (feminine teacher). Keywords: kindship terms of East Makian language

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to determine the use of code switching and code mixing, also to find out the factors causing code switching and code mixing in Indonesian language learning in class X SMA Negeri 6 Ternate City. The method used in this study is a Qualitative Descriptive Method. The data source was Indonesian language teacher and class X students of SMA Negeri 6 Ternate City, which only consisted of a portion of 20 students. The research data is the use of code switching and code mixing of class X students of the 6th eerily of Ternate City. Based on data analysis, it was concluded that the data collection technique used was direct observation of a problem located in SMA Negeri 6 Ternate City. This study aimed to obtain additional data. This interview was conducted to reveal the effectiveness of the use of code switching and code mixing in Indonesian language learning. Records conducted by researchers to obtain data from the research objectives. Occurrence of the use of code switching and code mixing in Indonesian language learning for class X students of SMA Negeri 6 Ternate City, namely the use of code switching and code mixing is the switching of formal language codes, informal language code switching, and the occurrence of code switching between languages while the code mix is mixed code of words, phrases, clauses. Factors causing code switching and code mixing in Indonesian language learning in class X SMA Negeri 6 Ternate City are the occurrence of code switching due to speakers or speakers, listeners or interlocutors, Changes in the situation due to the presence of a third person, Changes in the situation from formal to informal or conversely, Change of Speaker Topic while mixed code because of the background of the attitudes of speakers and linguists.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how the use of comparative language style in the collection of poetry "Perjamuan Khong Guan" by Joko Pinurbo. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques used are reading techniques, listening techniques and note-taking techniques. The data obtained in this study were obtained from reading and understanding the contents of the poems contained in the collection of poems "Perjamuan Khong Guan" by Joko Pinurbo. The results of this study will be described qualitatively obtained from the analysis of the book collection of poetry "Perjamuan Khong Guan" by Joko Pinurbo as a whole which becomes one part, namely comparative language style. The researcher conducted this study to analyze the comparative language styles that the researchers encountered, including; equation or smile, metaphor, personification, despersonification, allegory, and epithet. The results showed that there were 28 uses of comparative language styles in the collection of poems "Perjamuan Khong Guan" by Joko Pinurbo. The most dominant use of comparative language style is personification of 10 data. Other uses are parables or similes as many as 4 data; metaphor as many as 8 data; despersonification of 3 data; allegory as much as 1 data; and epithet as much as 1 data.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the occurrence of Ternate's Malay interference in the process of learning Indonesian VIII grade students at Banau National Middle School in Ternate City describing the factors causing interference in the learning process of Ternate Malay language class VIII Banau National Middle School, Ternate City. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Data sources were 28 students who spoke Malay in Ternate. Data collection techniques are observation (observation), interview (Interview), decommentation, Speaking. Data analysis techniques use descriptive qualitative (data reduction, data presentation, passing conclusions and verification). Based on data analysis, it was concluded that the Malay language of Ternate in the process of learning Indonesian language in class VIII of Banau National Middle School in Ternate City was found, namely; (a) interference in the form of words, sentences, phrases, and clauses. (b) interference occurs, namely the occurrence of the learning process of Indonesian language in grade VIII Banau National Middle School in Ternate City, namely; (1) Habits, (2) Affected by others (3) preferred or comfortable using Malay language Ternate (4) have not realized or accustomed to using Indonesian in the learning process (5) friends use Ternate Malay language. Causes of Ternate Malay Language Interference, namely; (1) habits, (2) the interlocutors (3) are more comfortable using the Malay language of Ternate (4) have not mastered the Indonesian language (formal).

Abstract

The formulation of the problems in this study are (1) How is the form of inward code mix and outward code mix in Gelar Wicara Mata Najwa Episode "Belajar dari Buya Hamka" (2) How is the implication of code mix in language learning. The research objectives to be achieved are to know the form of inward code mix and the form of outward code mix in Gelar Wicara Mata Najwa Episode "Belajar dari Buya Hamka" and to know the implications of code mix on language learning. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The data in this research is the dialog of moderators and speakers. The data source used in this research is Mata Najwa Talk Show Episode "Learning from Buya Hamka". Based on data analysis and conclusions, it is known that (1) The form of inward code mix in Gelar Wicara Mata Najwa Episode "Belajar dari Buya Hamka" is the use of two languages in one dialog, namely Indonesian and local languages. (2) The form of outward code mix in Gelar Wicara Mata Najwa Episode "Belajar dari Buya Hamka" is the use of two languages in one dialog, namely Indonesian and foreign languages. (3) Code mixing is implied in Indonesian language learning in the form of learning media produced, namely posters and slogans related to the results of code mixing in Gelar Wicara Mata Najwa Episode "Belajar dari Buya Hamka".

Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa nasional dan bahasa negara harus diutamakan, bahasa daerah harus dilestarikan, dan bahasa asing sangat penting untuk dikuasai. Namun, banyak siswa yang tidak memahami mengapa bahasa Indonesia harus diutamakan, untuk apa bahasa daerah dilestarikan dan bahasa asing dikuasai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefketifan penerapan model pembelajaran trigatra bangun bahasa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia untuk meningkatkan semangat dan menumbuhkan kesadaran siswa tentang pentingnya mengutamakan bahasa Indonesia, melestarikan bahasa daerah, dan menguasai bahasa asing. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas 3 SMA Negeri 3 Kota Ternate, dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 25 orang siswa. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui teknik pengamatan dan wawancara. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar pengamatan dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran trigatra bangun bahasa efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan semangat dan menumbuhkan kesadaran siswa tentang pentingnya mengutamakan bahasa Indonesia, melestarikan bahasa daerah, dan menguasai bahasa asing.

Abstract

This research raises the issue of the shift of koloncucu regional language that occurs in the social sphere in the Toboleu village community. This research aims to find out the shift of koloncucu regional language to Ternate Malay language and the factors that influence the occurrence of the language shift. The method in this study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research. In this study, two stages of research were used, namely: 1) data collection through observation, interview, documentation, while data analysis is done by the process of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of the study indicate that Koloncucu regional language has shifted to Ternate Malay language because some of the most dominant factors are the main causes of the shift of Koloncucu regional language to Ternate Malay language, namely migration factors and educational factors. The migration factor is that many people from other areas who are Ternate Malay speakers migrate to Toboleu village and the population exceeds the original community of the village. Educational factors are often also the cause of language shifts, because schools always introduce a second language to their students who are originally monolingual, become bilingual and eventually leave or shift the first language.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji implikatur pada tanda bahasa di kapal penumpang PT PELNI melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Dari 79 tanda yang terdokumentasi, sebanyak 12 data dipilih sebagai sampel representatif berdasarkan keragaman fungsi pesan dan konteks ruang penempatannya. Proses analisis dilakukan dengan memakai kerangka implikatur Grice (1975) dan kategorisasi inferensi Levinson (1983). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanda bahasa di kapal memunculkan dua pola implikatur, yaitu implikatur yang dipahami melalui pengetahuan umum pengguna kapal dan implikatur yang memerlukan konteks ruang serta fungsi teknis kapal untuk menyingkap makna tersiratnya. Tanda regulatif dan instruktif menampilkan makna implisit yang berkaitan dengan alasan keselamatan dan pengelolaan lingkungan, sedangkan tanda teknis menunjukkan makna tersirat yang bergantung pada pemahaman tentang struktur dan operasional kapal. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi visual di kapal tidak hanya bersifat literal, tetapi juga mengandalkan inferensi untuk membangun pemahaman cepat dalam situasi yang membutuhkan ketepatan informasi.
