Abstract

Dewasa ini bunuh diri dan percobaan bunuh diri semakin marak terjadi di kalangan orang muda. Mereka yang gagal dalam percobaan bunuh diri dapat saja tertarik untuk menjadi imam di kemudian hari. Hal ini memunculkan pertanyaan, apakah mereka ini boleh mengenyam pendidikan di seminari dan boleh ditahbiskan menjadi imam? Penelitian ini membahas doktrin dan norma kanonik mengenai percobaan bunuh diri dan automutilasi sebagai halangan tetap untuk menerima tahbisan imam. Metode yang digunakan ialah metode penelitian kualitatif bercorak deskriptif dan yuridis dengan menggunakan pendekatan studi literatur. Percobaan bunuh diri dan automutilasi merupakan fakta yang tak dapat dihapuskan atau diabaikan, sekalipun sudah disesali dan diampuni dalam sakramen pengakuan dosa. Kedua tindakan itu tetap diperhitungkan sebagai halangan tetap untuk menerima atau melaksanakan tahbisan. Jika seorang seminaris telah menjalani dengan baik dan serius formasio imamat dan dipandang layak untuk menjadi imam, ia diizinkan untuk ditahbiskan dengan dimintakan dispensasi dari irregularitas tersebut. Penelitian ini memberikan makna dan cakupan norma mengenai irregularitas, agar para formator seminari, Uskup Diosesan dan Superior Mayor tarekat religius dapat mengaplikasikan norma secara tepat, dan menanggapi dengan bijak setiap kasus irregularitas yang menimpa calon imam selama masa formasio imamat.

Abstract

This article discusses secret marriage from another perspective, namely in the form of a comparative study of religious law between Islam and Catholicism. This research aims to find similarities and differences between the two religions in assessing and regulating secret marriages. This study found that both religions recognize secret marriage as an uncommon and not ideal marriage. Both religions see the disadvantages and harms of secret marriage. This study found some key differences. In Islam, sirri marriage is not created by religious doctrine, but are practices carried out by several people which is subsequently judged and regulated by religious law. Whereas in Catholicism, secret marriage are officially created by the highest legislator of the Church. In Islam, unregistered marriage often colludes with polygamy, while in the Catholic Church secret marriage is carried out while upholding the essential nature of marriage: monogamous and indissoluble. In Islam, sirri marriage is not recorded anywhere, while secret marriage in the Catholic Church is recorded internally in the diocesan secret archives. This study raises mutual respect among adherents of both religions regarding secret marriages. This study also encourages further studies on the problem of the two religions facing civil lawsuits regarding marriage registration.

Abstract

This study seeks to develop a theological understanding of Rimba Kobar’s critical ecospirituality as a contextual faith praxis that promotes agrarian justice in Sekadau, West Kalimantan, in the light of Sean McDonagh’s environmental theology. Employing a qualitative-reflective theological approach, the research explores the ecological spirituality of local communities and connects it with the principle of subsidiarity in Catholic Canon Law. The findings indicate that Rimba Kobar’s ecospirituality represents not only an ecological expression but also a form of moral resistance against agrarian structural injustice, resonating with the spirit of subsidiarity affirming the autonomy and dignity of grassroots communities in caring for creation. The integration of critical ecospirituality and subsidiarity paves the way for a contextual and participatory reconstruction of Catholic environmental theology, one that stands in solidarity with local communities. Thus, this study highlights the necessity of synergy between ecological theology, local spirituality, and Church law in realizing socio-ecological justice within Indonesia’s agrarian landscape.

Abstract

Environmental degradation in Sekadau, West Kalimantan, demonstrates that the ecological crisis is also a spiritual and moral crisis rooted in structural inequalities between Indigenous communities and capitalist powers. This study aims to examine the theological and ethical dimensions of critical eco-spirituality as a transformative paradigm for advancing the bonum commune and agrarian justice within a postcolonial context. Using a literature review and hermeneutical theological reflection through critical discourse analysis of theological texts, agrarian policies, and Indigenous narratives, this research identifies forms of spiritual resistance emerging from the ecological and social experiences of the Dayak community. The findings show that critical eco-spirituality integrates ecological awareness with transformative ethical praxis that is inherently political, grounded in the intersubjective relationship between humans, nature, and the Transcendent, and challenges the exploitative logic of colonial and neoliberal legacies. The study concludes that local spiritual values such as cosmic harmony and ecological solidarity can serve as an alternative epistemology for justice-oriented development. Critical eco-spirituality thus offers a new theological paradigm capable of strengthening inclusive and participatory socio-political agrarian praxis while affirming the cultural autonomy of Indigenous communities in the face of modern hegemonic pressures.
