Abstract

Background The use of contraceptive implants as a long-acting contraceptive method remains low in Indonesia, including in the working area of the Muara Enim District Extension Center. Despite its high effectiveness in preventing pregnancy, several factors may influence implant adoption among women of reproductive age, such as age, knowledge, attitude, socioeconomic status, parity, and husband’s support. Objective This study aimed to identify the factors associated with the use of contraceptive implants among reproductive-age couples in the Muara Enim District Extension Center in 2025. Methods This study applied a quantitative cross-sectional design involving 93 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Inclusion criteria were women of reproductive age residing in the study area and willing to participate, while exclusion criteria included serious illness and illiteracy. Data collection was conducted from May 2 to 17, 2025, using a validated structured questionnaire supported by medical record checks. Variables measured included age, knowledge, attitude, socioeconomic status, parity, and husband’s support, with implant use as the dependent variable. Data analysis was performed in three stages: univariate to describe frequencies, bivariate using Chi-square tests to assess associations (p < 0.05), and multivariate using logistic regression to determine dominant factors. Ethical clearance was obtained, and informed consent, anonymity, and confidentiality were ensured.. Results ge (p=0.02), attitude (p=0.005), and socioeconomic status (p=0.02) were significantly associated with implant use, while knowledge (p=1.00), parity (p=0.90), and husband’s support (p=0.18) were not. Logistic regression confirmed attitude as the most dominant predictor (p=0.003; OR=0.26). Conclusion Age, attitude, and socioeconomic status significantly influence implant use, with attitude being the strongest determinant. Health promotion should focus on shaping positive attitudes through couple-based counseling and interpersonal education, especially for younger women and low-income groups.

Abstract

Performance plays a crucial role in all types of organizations, both public and private sectors. It can be defined as the outcome of tasks executed in line with assigned responsibilities, which is clearly reflected in the results or output produced (Pranogyo et al., 2021). The quality of services provided by employees plays a significant role in shaping the public's perception of healthcare services. Patients' experiences are often shared with family and close friends, creating either a positive or negative impression of the health center (Argaheni et al., 2022). This study aims to identify factors affecting employee performance at Puskesmas Sumber Harum in 2024. The research uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, classified as observational research. The study involved all 43 employees at Puskesmas Sumber Harum in 2024. The analysis showed no significant relationship between education (p-value 0.074) and knowledge (p-value 0.171). However, significant relationships were found for age (p-value 0.008), gender (p-value 0.006), training (p-value 0.019), attitude (p-value 0.009), and motivation (p-value0.037). Among these factors, attitude emerged as the most dominant with an OR of 17.452, contributing greatly to performance. Based on these findings, it is recommended that Puskesmas focus more on improving employee discipline and continue striving to enhance productivity and service quality.

Abstract

Adherence to medication is a crucial factor in the management of diabetes mellitus (DM), a chronic metabolic disease that can lead to serious complications if not properly managed. This study aims to analyze the level of medication adherence among DM patients at Puskesmas Peninggalan, Musi Banyuasin Regency, in 2024. The research uses an observational design with a cross-sectional approach, involving 1,182 DM patients receiving treatment at the health center. Data were collected through structured interviews and medical record analysis, followed by descriptive and inferential analysis. The results show that patient adherence is influenced by factors such as age, education level, family support, and access to medication. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for improving more effective DM management strategies in primary healthcare facilities, with p-values of 0.002 for relationships, 0.004 for education, 0.001 for knowledge, 0.004 for attitudes, 0.003 for motivation, 0.006 for family support, and 0.001 for the role of healthcare staff. Conversely, a p-value of 1.000 showed no relationship between gender and medication adherence for diabetes mellitus. Proper management of diabetes mellitus patients, particularly in improving medication adherence, is crucial to prevent further complications. Therefore, it is recommended that the Health Department develop regular health education policies through various channels, including direct meetings and other media.
