Abstract

Prolonged work stress can have a negative impact on employee well-being and can reduce the quality of their performance. On the other hand, work motivation is an important factor in improving employee performance. Therefore, it is important to identify the effect of work stress and work motivation on front office performance at the Four Point Hotel Medan. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of stress on front office work motivation at the Four Point Hotel Medan. The method used was a quantitative research method in the form of a questionnaire with data processing using SPSS 22.0. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive relationship between stress and work motivation. This means that the higher the stress on front office employees, the higher the work motivation. Likewise, the lower the stress on employees, the lower the work motivation.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan bagian penting dalam kehidupan yang sekaligus membedakan manusia dengan makhluk lainnya. Hewan juga “belajar” tetapi lebih ditentukan oleh instinknya, sedangkan manusia belajar berarti merupakan rangkaian kegiatan menuju pendewasaan guna menuju kehidupan yang lebih berarti. Jadi pendidikan merupakan usaha manusia untuk meningkatkan ilmu pengetahuan yang didapat baik dari lembaga formal maupun informal dalam membantu proses transformasi sehingga dapat mencapai kualitas yang diharapkan. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode presentasi, yaitu narasumber menyampaikan materi dengan menggunakan teknik presentasi. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, kepala sekolah di SD santo thomas 5 memiliki tipe kepemimpinan antara lain telah mendelegasikan tugas, tanggung jawab dan kewenangan kepada bawahan sesuai petunjuk teknis, selalu menjunjung tinggi prinsip persamaan hak dan persamaan kewajiban sesama warga sekolah.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out as part of the 41st Anniversary of the Catholic University of Santo Thomas Medan under the theme “Clean City Movement of Medan: Strengthening Collaboration to Realize Indonesia Emas 2045.” The primary objective of this program was to foster environmental awareness and strengthen synergy among universities, local communities, and regional governments in maintaining urban cleanliness and environmental sustainability. The implementation employed a participatory approach involving UNIKA’s academic community, local residents, and key stakeholders across seven districts in Medan City. The stages of activity included socialization, environmental clean-up actions, and post-activity evaluation. The results demonstrated an increase in community participation in maintaining environmental cleanliness and the establishment of cross-sector collaborative networks. Furthermore, this activity reinforced the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education through community engagement and the cultivation of environmental character education.
