Abstract

Background: Brachial Plexus Injury (BPI) is a peripheral nerve injury that can cause functional disorders of the upper limbs due to decreased range of motion of joints and muscle strength. Further impacts can include psychological stress, socioeconomic difficulties, reduced quality of life, and ability to work. Patients who are unable to return to work require job crafting to create a balance between job demands and job resources so that they can achieve employee well-being. The general objective of this study is to determine the effect of job crafting on the level of employee well-being in BPI patients. The benefits of the results of this study will later be used to improve outcome measurement and recommendations in determining therapy goals, especially in the area of productivity, so that independent, productive, and prosperous BPI can be realized. Methods: This research is quantitative research with a pre-experimental research form. The type of approach used is comparative, using a group pre- and post-test design. The research was conducted in the BPI community of East Java using purposive sampling techniques, and 30 research subjects were obtained. Results: The results of the study showed that the majority of research subjects were in the age range of 19-44 years (adults) as much as (80%), male gender (76.7%), and dominated by workers in the private sector (96.7%). The results of the hypothesis test using the paired sample t-test obtained an ρ value of 0.001. Conclusion: job crafting has an effect on employee well-being in BPI patients.

Abstract

Brachial Plexus Injury is a severe peripheral nerve injury that affects the upper extremities, resulting in functional damage and physical disability. Patients with this condition will experience functional limitations in the upper limbs due to a decrease in joint range of motion and muscle strength, thereby affecting productivity. The aim of this research is to determine the improvement in the quality of life of Brachial Plexus Injury Patients through Entrepreneurship Assistance in the Brachial Plexus Injury community. Research Method: This research uses a quantitative descriptive research design. The research was conducted in the Brachialis Plexus Injury community with a sample size of 25 patients using probability sampling techniques with simple random sampling. The instruments used were questionnaires about entrepreneurial intentions, entrepreneurial personality, family support and quality of life. The analysis test used is the multiple linear regression assumption test. Research Results: There is an influence of entrepreneurial mentoring including family support, entrepreneurial intentions, entrepreneurial personality on the quality of life. The F count results are 17.045 with a significance of 0.000. It is known that the G table value is 3.08 because the calculated F value > F table means HO is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning that there is a significant influence between entrepreneurial assistance on the quality of life of patients with Brachial Plexus Injury conditions. There is a correlation between the variables Family support (X1), Entrepreneurial Personality (X2), Entrepreneurial intentions, with a significance value of 0.000. This means that the significance value of the three variables is smaller than 0.05 or in other words 0.000 > 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is a correlation. To see the level of closeness of the relationship, it can be seen from the R Square of 0.709, which is strongly correlated (according to the rules, if the value is 0.61 to 0.80, it is in the strong correlation category). Conclusion: There is an influence of entrepreneurial assistance including family support, entrepreneurial intentions, entrepreneurial personality on quality of life

Abstract

Stroke is a sudden loss of brain function and triggers unilateral paralysis which can reduce posture and balance control, resulting in difficulty walking. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of LVST-BIG training in improving balance in stroke cases. Based on pre-experimental quantitative research with a one-group pretest-posttest design, this research population took stroke cases in Dibal Village, Ngemplak District, Boyolali with a total sampling technique of 7 people. This intervention was carried out in stroke cases 16 times with a duration of 30 minutes/session. The balance measuring tool uses the Berg Balance Scale instrument. Hypothesis testing using Paired Samples T Test. The results of the research obtained a significance value of 0.000<0.05 which shows that there is a difference in the mean results of the Berg Balance Scale between groups before being given intervention or after being given intervention for stroke conditions in Dibal Village, Ngemplak Boyolali

Abstract

Health is a basic and important element. Poor health conditions result in people being unable to regulate their own lifestyle and development in their area. As an emerging physiological syndrome in elderly health, frailty is a predictive factor of negative health outcomes, such as increased risk of death, decreased activities of daily living. This Community Service Activity aims to create a community that has knowledge and abilities, especially the elderly, especially in the health sector. The government's basic concept in developing elderly health program services aims to enable elderly people to live healthy lives by optimizing physical, mental, cognitive and spiritual functions through various promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative efforts including elderly empowerment programs in the community (Ministry of Health, 2020). One of the elderly empowerment programs is to reduce the risk of falls through tendem walking exercises. Tendemic walking exercises are exercises, attitudes or body positions to control balance, muscle coordination and body movements in order to reduce the risk of falls which often occur in the elderly. The aim of this community service activity is to empower the elderly by providing walking balance training in order to reduce the risk of falls in Tohudan Wetan Village, Colomadu, Karanganyar, Central Java. The target for counseling is 30 participants. Method. The method used is quantitative descriptive. The instrument used was a material understanding questionnaire containing 12 closed questions. This counseling aims to optimize the understanding of the elderly in order to minimize the risk of falls through walking balance exercises. The evaluation method used is a questionnaire to assess understanding of the pre- and post-activity counseling material. Results. Elderly empowerment activities are carried out through lecture methods, discussions and distribution of material leaflets. Material regarding the understanding and knowledge of elderly people about the risk of falling, risk factors for falling, understanding the tendem walk, implementation of the tendem walk exercise carried out every day in the morning and evening for one week with a duration of 10-15 minutes, the benefits of the tendem walk, evidence base of the tendem walk. The results of discussions carried out with the elderly showed that there was a change in knowledge about the importance of doing balance exercises in the form of tendem walking to reduce the risk of falls which often occur in the elderly. Conclusion. Based on the pretest and posttest results, a value of 0.000 (p<0.005) was obtained, meaning (1) tandem walking exercises provide increased information for the elderly in an effort to prevent the risk of falls (2) tandem walking exercises can improve balance in the elderly, (3) elderly people agree to do the exercises This tendem balance walk is carried out routinely, both individually and in groups, (3) this activity requires follow-up and cooperation between village officials, elderly organization administrators, health cadres and the elderly so that this training program can be continued.

Abstract

Based on the period of life, someone entering old age will experience many setbacks. This setback will be faced with various kinds of health problems. These health problems occur because elderly people experience various kinds of functional changes resulting from a decrease in physiological and psychological functions which have an impact on changes in sensory function, neurological, cognitive and musculoskeletal systems. With the neurological changes and musculoskeletal changes that occur in the elderly, this will result in an inability to control balance, resulting in slow movements, increasing the risk of falls, which ultimately disrupts daily activities. This community service activity was carried out through a group approach at the elderly posyandu in Tempuran Village, Bolon, Colomadu Karanganyar using the balance training method with the LSVT BIG method starting from pretest, intervention, posttest. Based on hypothesis testing using the Paired Sample T-Test, a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.005) was obtained, which means that LCVY BIG balance training has an effect on improving the balance of elderly people in carrying out daily activities.
