Abstract

Indonesia has great potential in the fisheries sector, including cultivating freshwater fish using the floating cage system which is popular in various regions. However, the potential of floating cages, which are known to be effective, has not yet been fully explored, especially in development as an educational tourism destination or edutourism. This research aims to design and develop the Koto Panjang hydropower cage area into an edutourism destination that can improve the economic welfare of the community while introducing ecosystem diversity and sustainable fish cultivation techniques. The method in this research is participatory design to design facilities and management strategies for cage areas, with SWOT analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in its development. The research results show that the cage area at the Koto Panjang PLTA has great potential as an educational tourism destination that prioritizes environmental conservation and empowerment of local communities. The design of this tourist area includes tourist routes that lead to fish farming, feeding and water quality management areas, as well as interactive facilities for visitor education. The SWOT analysis shows that the strength of the Koto Panjang hydropower cage area lies in its natural resource potential, educational support, environmentally friendly technology and community participation. Weaknesses include limited infrastructure and understanding of edutourism. The opportunities lie in educational tourism trends, while the threats include climate fluctuations and ecosystem damage.

Abstract

The success of an industry is a positive impact of integrating production factors andmanagement systems to be more effective and efficient. One of the determinants of anindustry's success is the layout, better known as the layout of the industry. Knowledge of theseincludes work centres and equipment in the conversion process to optimize the relationshipbetween implementing officers, material flow, information flow, and procedures for achievinggoals. ABC company is one of the companies engaged in the processing of oil palm fruit toproduce various kinds of products that are useful for human food, beverages, agriculture, industry, and so on. This study evaluates the layout of PT. ABC's production facilities, utilizing an activity relationship chart and activity relationship diagram approach. Researchersanalyzed the data and obtained two factory facility layout designs, the 1st and 2ndalternatives, ultimately selecting the latter. The chosen layout design is more organized andsupports the smooth running of production activities, providing significant advantages for thecompany.

Abstract

Rapid industrial growth worldwide, especially in Indonesia, has posed threats to the environment and public health. Environmental pollution is mainly caused by domestic wastewater generated from households, businesses, and residential areas. Types of domestic wastewater that need attention include human feces or waste, urine, detergents, soaps, and food scraps. Wastewater pollution from households has become increasingly critical due to the rise in household activities and urbanization in Indonesia. To address the issue of household wastewater pollution, efficient wastewater management systems and increased public awareness are necessary. The implementation of filtration technology is a crucial solution to maintain water quality. Filtration is a process of separating solid particles from liquids using filtering media or screens. The results of filtration can produce cleaner and safer water, and this technology continues to be developed to meet the demand for high-quality and safe water. This experiment aims to create a simple filtration bottle using recycled materials and demonstrate its effectiveness in reducing the content of household wastewater. The filtration process resulted in a 79.32% reduction in COD content, an 85% reduction in TSS content, and a 91.3% reduction in turbidity. By utilizing recycled materials and efficient filtration technology, it can help mitigate the negative impact of domestic wastewater on the environment. In conclusion, the utilization of recycled materials as a simple filtering tool can reduce the content of household wastewater and contribute to maintaining a clean and healthy environment. The awareness and participation of the community in using this filtering tool can have a greater positive impact on the environment.

Abstract

The prospect of success of a manufacturing project is determined by the results of feasibility tests such as investment and operations. In its implementation, the feasibility test is often constrained by several things such as data entry errors, calculation errors, and a long calculation time. The ideal solution that can be used to solve these three obstacles is to design an offline and stand-alone desktop-based feasibility calculation application. This research uses the SDLC Waterfall method and User Acceptance Test (UAT) based on questionnaires and scenario tests. In the design and coding completion phase, the SDLC waterfall approach is combined with generative AI to speed up the application design time. As a result, a calculation application named Manufurrt has been created with an interactive executable file format and is able to provide the same calculation results between the expected spreadsheet and the real calculation results from the application.

Abstract

Background: Climate change has emerged as one of the most pressing global challenges in the 21st century, with Indonesia an archipelagic and tropical nation being particularly susceptible to its consequences. Despite its enormous renewable energy (RE) potential of over 3,600 GW, Indonesia remains heavily dependent on fossil fuels, especially coal, which contributes significantly to greenhouse gas emissions and environmental damage. This study aims to analyze Indonesia’s energy transition strategy through the lens of climate justice, emphasizing the importance of an inclusive and equitable transformation. Previous research has underscored the critical role of distributive, procedural, and recognition justice in enabling fair energy transitions. Methods: This study applies a qualitative-descriptive approach using literature-based research. It draws on national policies, legal documents, academic journals, and global reports to evaluate Indonesia's energy transition framework. The analysis is grounded in the energy justice framework, which examines equity in energy distribution (distributive), inclusiveness in decision-making (procedural), and acknowledgment of vulnerable groups (recognition). Findings: The results show that Indonesia’s energy transition efforts are evolving but face significant challenges, including regulatory uncertainty, limited investment, and institutional rigidity. Although policy measures like the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) and Presidential Regulation No. 112/2022 represent a shift towards a cleaner model, actual renewable energy installed capacity remains under 1%. Structural barriers such as fossil fuel subsidies and bureaucratic delays hamper progress. Integrating justice principles can enhance effectiveness by ensuring fair access, local empowerment, and participatory policy design. Conclusion: Indonesia’s energy transition is a vital strategy to mitigate climate change but must be rooted in justice to ensure inclusivity and sustainability. Strong policy coordination, stakeholder collaboration, and innovative financing mechanisms are necessary for success. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study offers a novel contribution by placing energy justice at the center of the analytical framework, unlike most existing literature on JETP or energy policy in Southeast Asia, which primarily focuses on financing mechanisms, technical pathways, or climate mitigation goals. By integrating environmental, socio-political, and governance dimensions, this research provides a comprehensive, justice-oriented evaluation of energy transitions, particularly relevant for developing countries where equity, participation, and local impact are often underexplored.

Abstract

Elementary education plays an important role in shaping children's self-confidence and logical thinking skills, especially in the increasingly complex digital era. However, many children have difficulty in developing these aspects due to the lack of appropriate stimulation. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide socialization and assistance to 6th grade elementary school students in increasing their self-confidence and logical thinking skills. This activity is carried out through interactive methods, exploration-based, and persuasive approaches. This activity involves teachers, as well as educational facilitators in the form of training, educational games, and discussion sessions. The results of the community service show that this approach has a positive impact on children's cognitive and social development. Children who participate in this program experience increased courage in communicating and are better able to solve problems independently. This activity can be an effective model in supporting elementary education in the digital era.
