Abstract

Rapid industrial growth worldwide, especially in Indonesia, has posed threats to the environment and public health. Environmental pollution is mainly caused by domestic wastewater generated from households, businesses, and residential areas. Types of domestic wastewater that need attention include human feces or waste, urine, detergents, soaps, and food scraps. Wastewater pollution from households has become increasingly critical due to the rise in household activities and urbanization in Indonesia. To address the issue of household wastewater pollution, efficient wastewater management systems and increased public awareness are necessary. The implementation of filtration technology is a crucial solution to maintain water quality. Filtration is a process of separating solid particles from liquids using filtering media or screens. The results of filtration can produce cleaner and safer water, and this technology continues to be developed to meet the demand for high-quality and safe water. This experiment aims to create a simple filtration bottle using recycled materials and demonstrate its effectiveness in reducing the content of household wastewater. The filtration process resulted in a 79.32% reduction in COD content, an 85% reduction in TSS content, and a 91.3% reduction in turbidity. By utilizing recycled materials and efficient filtration technology, it can help mitigate the negative impact of domestic wastewater on the environment. In conclusion, the utilization of recycled materials as a simple filtering tool can reduce the content of household wastewater and contribute to maintaining a clean and healthy environment. The awareness and participation of the community in using this filtering tool can have a greater positive impact on the environment.

Abstract

Purchasing activities are activities that need to be carried out by the community to meet the needs of life. Vegetarian restaurants are one of the businesses that sell food needs. However, during the purchase process there is a level of satisfaction from consumers. These levels are influenced by various factors or criteria. The purpose of this study is to measure and rank the recommended vegetarian restaurant rankings and the criteria that affect the purchase process using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The results of this study are Cafe Abang restaurant (A1) with a weight value of 0.379, the second place is the Kedai Bo Bak restaurant (A3) with a weight value of 0.25, the Sweet Veggie restaurant (A2) is in third place with a weight value of 0.191, and RM. Healthy Vegetarian (A4) with a weight value of 0.18. While the criteria for food and beverage menu prices (C3) with a weight value of 0.311, the second place is the operational time criterion (C4) with a weight value of 0.228, the third place is with the restaurant location distance criterion (C5) with a weight value of 0.216, the fourth place is with the number of food and beverage menu variants (C1) with a weight value of 0.153,  and ranked fifth with the criterion of the number of restaurant facilities (C2) with a weight value of 0.092.

Abstract

The hydraulic press machine is one of the essential tools in the manufacturing industry, particularly in the automotive sector, to accelerate and simplify the process of forming and assembling metal components with high precision. However, operating the machine using buttons presents several challenges, such as unresponsiveness, operator fatigue, and the risk of workplace accidents. This study aims to improve the efficiency and safety of hydraulic press machine operations by replacing the button system with a pedal system. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach with literature review and experimental methods in the design process. The research stages include data collection through literature review, component Benchmarking to compile the Bill of Material (BOM), and machine design development using Assembly chart and Operation Process Chart (OPC). The results show that replacing buttons with pedals improves the machine's responsiveness and operator comfort. The ergonomic pedal design allows operators to control the machine more accurately and steadily, making the production process more efficient and consistent. Furthermore, the updated machine design with an enclosed structure enhances protection for internal components and extends the machine’s lifespan. In conclusion, the innovation of replacing the button system with a pedal system in hydraulic press machines successfully improves operator safety.

Abstract

This study aims to design an optimized 5-Axis Robotic Arm system for Quality Control (QC) applications utilizing infrared sensor technology. The research process involved a comprehensive literature review to explore the latest developments in robotic systems and automation technologies. Benchmarking similar products was conducted to identify strengths and weaknesses as a foundation for innovation. The preparation of the Bill of Material (BoM), Operation Process Chart (OPC), and Assembly Chart (AC) was essential for systematic production planning. The final design was developed using Inventor 2024 software to ensure precision and component compatibility. The results demonstrate that the selection of aluminum materials, servo motors with a lifting capacity of up to 10 kg, Arduino Uno R3, and Pixy Cam significantly enhanced the system’s flexibility, durability, and efficiency. Structural modifications improved the mechanical stability and operational lifespan of the robotic arm. This system is expected to serve as an effective solution to improve the accuracy and speed of Quality Control processes in modern industrial environments.

Abstract

This research aims to optimize the design of a 6-axis robotic Arm for spray painting processes in the automotive industry. The main problem identified is the complexity of the structure and the presence of non-functional components, which complicate the manufacturing process. Through benchmarking methods, analysis of the Bill of Materials (BoM), creation of an Operation Process Chart (OPC), and Assembly Chart (AC), the design was simplified without reducing its core functionality. Design development was carried out using Autodesk Inventor software to create a more efficient 3D model. An evaluation was conducted on the new design, including a Cost of Goods Manufactured (HPP) analysis to ensure cost efficiency. The research results show that eliminating non-functional parts improves production speed, reduces costs, and maintains the robotic Arm's balance and safety. Thus, the developed robotic Arm is simpler, more effective, and more economical to support increased industrial productivity.

Abstract

The prospect of success of a manufacturing project is determined by the results of feasibility tests such as investment and operations. In its implementation, the feasibility test is often constrained by several things such as data entry errors, calculation errors, and a long calculation time. The ideal solution that can be used to solve these three obstacles is to design an offline and stand-alone desktop-based feasibility calculation application. This research uses the SDLC Waterfall method and User Acceptance Test (UAT) based on questionnaires and scenario tests. In the design and coding completion phase, the SDLC waterfall approach is combined with generative AI to speed up the application design time. As a result, a calculation application named Manufurrt has been created with an interactive executable file format and is able to provide the same calculation results between the expected spreadsheet and the real calculation results from the application.

Abstract

Distribusi gas LPG 3 Kg memerlukan perencanaan rute yang efisien untuk menekan biaya operasional, menghemat waktu, dan meningkatkan keamanan pengiriman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan pemilihan rute terpendek distribusi gas LPG 3 Kg dengan menerapkan Algoritma Sweep berbasis Python pada kasus Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP). Data yang digunakan meliputi lokasi pelanggan, jarak antar titik, dan kapasitas angkut truk. Algoritma Sweep digunakan untuk mengelompokkan pelanggan berdasarkan sudut polar relatif terhadap depot, dilanjutkan dengan penentuan urutan kunjungan yang meminimalkan jarak tempuh sambil memenuhi batas kapasitas kendaraan. Hasil optimasi menunjukkan bahwa metode ini mampu menghasilkan tiga rute distribusi dengan total jarak tempuh 98,7 km, mengalami pengurangan sebesar 26,18 km atau sekitar 21% dibandingkan kondisi awal yang mencapai 124,88 km. Selain itu, jumlah armada dapat ditekan menjadi tiga truk tanpa melanggar batas kapasitas angkut. Implementasi berbasis Python memungkinkan proses penghitungan dan pemodelan rute dilakukan secara cepat, akurat, dan dapat diulang untuk berbagai skenario distribusi.

Abstract

This activity aims to increase students' insight into the importance of writing scientific papers, good scientific writing techniques, and how to use appropriate references. This event will be held online via the Zoom application on July 29 2023 with the theme "Increasing Ideas and Creativity in Compiling Scientific Work." The activity was attended by 44 participants from various scientific disciplines and institutions. The resource person provided insight into strategies for finding ideas, research gaps, and using the Mendeley application for reference management. Based on the questionnaire, more than 90% of participants expressed interest in taking further training on writing scientific papers. The result of this activity is an increase in participants' understanding of the scientific writing process as well as the establishment of collaboration between universities for future research.

Abstract

Scientific writing can be in the form of scientific articles, final reports, publication manuscripts, research reports such as theses, theses or dissertations. In writing scientific papers, modern reference management, such as Mendeley, Vos Viewer, and Connected Paper, has become a tool for scientific work writers to import, organize, search for references and research gaps quickly, it also makes it possible to organize and store all documents related to the project research in one place. Of the 35 participants who took part in the workshop, participants assessed that the material was delivered well by 3 resource persons, with evidence of an average rating for each resource of 4.5 on a scale of 1-5 (very bad to very good) and a standard deviation of 0.4 to 0.61. The distribution of results for the advanced themes that participants are interested in implementing in the future is optimization towards the industrial era 5.0 with an answer percentage of 54.29%; Publication of accredited scientific papers with a percentage of 25.71%; Industrial Sustainability was 11.43% and Industrial Innovation Technology was 8.57%.

Abstract

Elementary education plays an important role in shaping children's self-confidence and logical thinking skills, especially in the increasingly complex digital era. However, many children have difficulty in developing these aspects due to the lack of appropriate stimulation. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide socialization and assistance to 6th grade elementary school students in increasing their self-confidence and logical thinking skills. This activity is carried out through interactive methods, exploration-based, and persuasive approaches. This activity involves teachers, as well as educational facilitators in the form of training, educational games, and discussion sessions. The results of the community service show that this approach has a positive impact on children's cognitive and social development. Children who participate in this program experience increased courage in communicating and are better able to solve problems independently. This activity can be an effective model in supporting elementary education in the digital era.
