Abstract

Sustainable development in rural communities has become a pressing global challenge, particularly in terms of poverty alleviation, reducing inequality, and climate action. Islamic values, through the principles of Maqasid Syariah, offer a relevant approach to achieving these goals. This study aims to explore the application of Maqasid Syariah principles in sustainable development innovations focused on rural communities, as well as to understand the contribution of Islamic values in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The research employs a deductive qualitative method with thematic analysis of data collected through literature review. Data sources include books, journal articles, and official publications related to Maqasid Syariah and sustainable development. The findings show that applying Islamic values, such as social justice, economic protection, and environmental preservation, can significantly support the attainment of the SDGs in rural communities. These findings suggest that Islamic systems like zakat and waqf hold potential for enhancing economic welfare and reducing inequality. This study proposes that integrating Islamic values into development policies can create a more inclusive and sustainable model of development. Thus, it is hoped that religious values serve not only as a spiritual foundation but also as a driving force in achieving holistic and equitable sustainable development for all of humanity.

Abstract

The urgency of this research arises from the need for more inclusive community empowerment as a measure to address growing social inequality. This research aims to explore empowerment approaches that involve all levels of society, including vulnerable groups, in order to create sustainable social justice. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which includes analysing the literature on inclusive empowerment, social inclusion, and its impact on education and health. Data was collected from various relevant academic sources, published between 2019 and 2023, to ensure relevance to the latest trends in social development. The results show that inclusive community empowerment strengthens access to education and health for all, especially marginalised groups. In education, inclusive approaches increase participation and individual potential, leading to reduced social and economic inequality. In health, better access for vulnerable groups, such as people with disabilities and the poor, ensures equitable distribution of health services through disability-friendly facilities and digital services such as e-counselling for stunting. In conclusion, inclusive empowerment plays a crucial role in realising social justice and creating a more resilient, inclusive and competitive society.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how gender equality can enhance human resource (HR) productivity and support inclusive economic growth. Using a qualitative method based on literature review, this research analyzes relevant academic literature to identify the relationship between gender equality, HR productivity, and economic growth. The findings reveal that gender equality plays a significant role in improving HR productivity by fostering more innovative and collaborative work teams. Increased access for women to education and training leads to substantial contributions in formal sectors, which in turn supports economic diversification and innovation. However, the study also highlights challenges in implementing gender equality, such as structural injustice, gender stereotypes, and insufficient support for women balancing dual roles as workers and caregivers. As recommendations, governments and companies should adopt gender-responsive policies, including equal pay, flexible work arrangements, and childcare facilities. Additionally, public awareness campaigns are needed to shift social norms that restrict women's roles. With strategic measures, gender equality can significantly contribute to sustainable economic development.
