Abstract

The poem Ya Qudsu Maʿḏirotan relates to Israel's occupation of the land of Jerusalem. The researchers wants to analyse this poem to find out the ideology in this poem. The type of this research is qualitative research using Norman Fairclough's Critical Discourse Analysis. The data collection technique is reading and writing. The researchers read Ahmed Matar's poem Ya Qudsu Maʿḏirotan and then wrote down the data from the poem. The researchers used a data analysis technique using Norman Fairclough's CDA, which has three dimensions: the textual dimension, the discourse practice dimension, and the sociocultural practice dimension. In the textual dimension, the researchers analysed Ahmed Matar's poem Ya Qudsu Maʿḏirotan in terms of linguistics. In the discourse practice dimension, the researchers analysed the process of production and consumption of this poem. And in the sociocultural practice, the researchers analysed the social context of this poem. The conclusion about ideology of this research is that one of the factors of the ongoing occupation of Jerusalem is the weakness of the Arab leaders through the poet's criticism of the weakness of the Arab leaders to liberate the land of Jerusalem.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and to analyze the philosophical values contained in Ibn al-Muqaffa’s Kitab al-Adab al-Shagir and al-Adab al-Kabir. The main focus of this research is to explore how moral philosophy or ethical concepts are reflected in these two literary works and their relation to divine values, cosmology and humanism. This research is a literature study using a qualitative-descriptive analysis method. The primary data sources are texts from these two works as primary sources, as well as books and other references discussing philosophy and literature as secondary sources. The qualitative-descriptive method is used to systematically and deeply elaborate the data. The approach employed is content analysis with a philosophical perspective. This analysis is based on two ways of understanding: first, understanding the content within literary works and second, understanding communication as an interaction between the works and the readers. The findings of this research indicate that the philosophical values in Kitab al-Adab al-Shagir and al-Adab al-Kabir are related to the teachings of moral philosophy, encompassing God as the source of all existence, the universe as a reflection of God's existence and humans as beings possessing freedom and moral responsibility. الملخص يهدف هذا البحث إلى تحديد وتحليل القيم الفلسفية الواردة في كتاب "الأدب الصغير" و"الأدب الكبير" لابن المقفع. ويركز البحث بشكل رئيسي على استكشاف كيفية انعكاس مفاهيم الفلسفة الأخلاقية أو القيمية في هذين الكتابين، وعلاقتها بالقيم الإلهية والكونية والإنسانية.يُعَدُّ هذا البحث دراسة مكتبية تعتمد على منهج التحليل الوصفي النوعي. تستند مصادر البيانات الأساسية إلى نصوص الكتابين كمصدر أولي، بالإضافة إلى الكتب والمراجع الأخرى التي تتناول الفلسفة والأدب كمصادر ثانوية. ويُستخدم المنهج الوصفي النوعي لتحليل البيانات بشكل منهجي وعميق.المنهج المستخدم هو تحليل المحتوى من منظور فلسفي، حيث يعتمد هذا التحليل على طريقتين في الفهم: الأولى، فهم محتوى الأعمال الأدبية، والثانية، فهم عملية التواصل باعتبارها تفاعلاً بين العمل الأدبي والقارئ. وتشير نتائج البحث إلى أن القيم الفلسفية في "كتاب الأدب الصغير" و"الأدب الكبير" ترتبط بتعاليم الفلسفة الأخلاقية، والتي تشمل الله باعتباره مصدر الوجود، والكون باعتباره انعكاساً لوجود الله، والإنسان باعتباره كائناً يمتلك الحرية والمسؤولية Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis nilai-nilai filosofis yang terkandung dalam Kitab al-Adab al-Shagir dan al-Adab al-Kabir karya Ibnu al-Muqaffa‘. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah menggali konsep-konsep filsafat moral atau etika yang tercermin dalam kedua kitab tersebut serta keterkaitannya dengan nilai-nilai ketuhanan, kosmologi, dan humanisme. Penelitian ini merupakan studi pustaka dengan metode analisis kualitatif-deskriptif. Sumber data utama berasal dari teks dalam kedua kitab tersebut sebagai sumber primer, serta buku-buku dan referensi lain yang membahas filsafat dan sastra sebagai sumber sekunder. Metode kualitatif-deskriptif digunakan untuk menguraikan data secara sistematis dan mendalam. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah analisis isi dengan perspektif filsafat. Analisis ini didasarkan pada dua cara pemahaman: pertama, pemahaman terhadap isi karya sastra, dan kedua, pemahaman komunikasi yang terjadi antara karya dan pembaca. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai filsafat dalam kedua kitab tersebut berkaitan dengan ajaran filsafat moral yang mencakup Tuhan sebagai sumber segala wujud, alam semesta sebagai refleksi eksistensi Tuhan, dan manusia sebagai makhluk yang memiliki kebebasan serta tanggung jawab moral.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of machine translation today is influenced by the progress in human intelligence. For instance, DeepL, as a translation machine, is considered highly accurate. The aim of this research was to analyze the accuracy of the translation of Nizar Qabbani's poem “Asyhadu An La Imra’atan Illa Anti” using Nababan's and Paul Ricoeur's theories. This study is qualitative in nature and employs a reading and note-taking method. Data analysis techniques followed Miles and Huberman's methods. Based on the research results, conclusions were drawn according to the research questions. Out of 18 datasets based on the 18 stanzas of Nizar Qabbani's poem “Asyhadu An La Imra’atan Illa Anti” translated using the AI-based DeepL Translator, 7 translations were categorized as low quality, 9 translations were categorized as less quality, and 2 translations were categorized as high quality. These results were obtained using Nababan's theory of translation accuracy. The translations produced by DeepL Translator for the poetry texts tended to be inconsistent, with many repeated words translated differently even in the same context. Further analysis using Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutic theory to examine the ideology within the text revealed that the translations tended to be very rigid for poetic texts.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap bentuk dan penyebab alih kode dan campur kode yang digunakan dalam interaksi antar tokoh dalam novel Laut Bercerita karya Leila Salikha Chudori. Alih kode dan campur kode yang ada di dalam novel ini melibatkan tiga bahasa sekaligus, yaitu bahasa Indonesia, bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Jawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan sosiolinguistik dengan metode analisis kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan teknik baca-catat, dan dianalisis dengan tahapan identifikasi data, sajian data serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua jenis alih kode pada novel Laut Bercerita  yaitu alih kode internal yaitu bahasa Indonesia dan Jawa dan eksternal yaitu bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris dan campur kode yang terdiri dari aspek pengulangan, kata, frasa, dan kalusa. Sedangkan penyebab yang melatarbelakangi terjadinya alih kode dan campur kode pada novel adalah kemampuan berbahasa tokoh,  penyesuaian penggunaan bahasa dengan bahasa mitra tutur, dan perubahan sitausi tutur. This article aims to reveal the forms and causes of code switching and code mixing used in interactions between characters in the novel Laut Bercerita by Leila Salikha Chudori. The code switching and code mixing in this novel involves three languages at once, namely Indonesian, English and Javanese. This research uses a sociolinguistic approach with qualitative analysis methods. The data collection technique uses reading and note-taking techniques, and is analyzed using the stages of data identification, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that there are two types of code switching in the Laut Bercerita novel, namely internal code switching, namely Indonesian and Javanese, and external, namely Indonesian and English, and code mixing which consists of aspects of repetition, words, phrases and clauses. Meanwhile, the causes behind the occurrence of code switching and code mixing in novels are the characters' language skills, adapting language use to the language of the speaking partner, and changes in speech situations.
