Abstract

The tradition of Tebokan in Kaliputu Village, Kudus, is a local cultural heritage that strengthens community identity and plays an important role in economic development through the involvement of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This annual event, which coincides with the celebration of 1 Muharram, combines religious values and local culture with a procession of gunungan jenang that symbolizes prosperity. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The results showed that Tebokan Tradition is not only a cultural ritual, but also serves as a promotional strategy that supports the growth of jenang MSMEs. Government support and synergy between MSME players and the local community have increased the popularity of jenang as a local superior product, while strengthening the village economy. Despite facing obstacles, such as limited budget and community participation, this tradition still has great potential to grow through cross-sector collaboration. Through the preservation of the Tebokan Tradition, Kaliputu Village not only maintains its cultural heritage but also strengthens economic resilience and enriches the social life of the community.

Abstract

An advice conveyed by the Prophet to his people is to glorify their descendants or ahl al-bayt among them; The Prophet's wife, Ali bin Abi Talib, Fatima, Hasan, and Husain. This paper discusses the Sunni and Shia arguments in interpreting Ahl al-bayt based on two interpretations, al-Tabari and al-Mizan. Three things are studied: their understanding of interpreting ahl al-bayt, the taking of interpretation studies, and the differences of each school of thought in measuring the truth of history. The method we use is library research by taking primary sources in the form of books being studied, and secondary sources in the form of books, journal articles, and others. This discussion also summarizes the research results that glorifying the descendants of the Prophet is a form of respect. This must continue to be practiced until now, one of which is following da'wah studies from the descendants of the Prophet, namely Habib, Syarif, and Sayid.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Imam Az-Zarnuji’s educational principles from Ta’lim al-Muta’allim in shaping the growth mindset of female students at Madrasah Diniyah Putri TBS Kudus. Specifically, it investigates how key principles such as sincere intention (niyyah), respect for teachers, patience, perseverance, and discipline contribute to fostering a growth mindset characterized by resilience, openness to failure, and continuous self-improvement. Employing a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and document analysis involving two teachers and fifteen students. Thematic analysis was used to identify patterns related to the application of Az-Zarnuji’s principles in students’ learning behavior and mindset development. The findings reveal that these classical Islamic educational values significantly reinforce modern psychological traits associated with the growth mindset, such as perseverance in learning, intrinsic motivation, and receptivity to feedback. The study offers concrete implications for Islamic education practice by demonstrating how integrating traditional pedagogical ethics with contemporary mindset theory can enhance students’ character formation and academic resilience. This integrative model presents a contextualized, holistic approach to developing growth-oriented learners in madrasah settings.

Abstract

Penyebaran Islam di tanah Jawa tidak lepas dari peran penting para Wali Songo, salah satunya adalah Sunan Bonang. Ia dikenal sebagai tokoh dakwah yang berperan besar dalam mengislamkan masyarakat di wilayah pesisir utara Jawa, khususnya di Tuban, Jawa Timur. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kiprah Sunan Bonang dalam menyebarkan Islam di Tuban melalui berbagai media dakwah yang kontekstual dengan budaya lokal. Salah satu strategi dakwah yang digunakan Sunan Bonang adalah pendekatan kultural, yaitu menyisipkan ajaran Islam ke dalam kesenian tradisional seperti gamelan, tembang suluk, wayang, dan puisi Jawa. Sunan Bonang juga menciptakan karya-karya tembang seperti Tombo Ati yang hingga kini masih dikenal luas oleh masyarakat. Melalui pendekatan ini, nilai-nilai Islam dapat diterima dengan mudah tanpa menimbulkan perlawanan dari masyarakat yang sebelumnya menganut ajaran Hindu-Buddha. Pendekatan dakwah yang dilakukan Sunan Bonang tidak bersifat frontal, tetapi mengedepankan nilai toleransi, hikmah, dan kesantunan. Media dakwah yang digunakan bukan hanya sebagai alat komunikasi, tetapi juga sebagai jembatan budaya yang mempertemukan nilai-nilai Islam dengan kearifan lokal masyarakat Jawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka, yang didasarkan pada sumber-sumber sejarah, karya sastra, dan tradisi lisan masyarakat Tuban. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa dakwah Sunan Bonang memiliki pengaruh besar terhadap perkembangan Islam di Jawa Timur, dan menjadi model dakwah yang efektif hingga masa kini. Strategi dakwah beliau membuktikan bahwa Islam dapat disebarkan dengan cara damai, adaptif, dan tetap menjaga identitas budaya setempat.
