Abstract

This research aims to analyze science learning in the implementation of the independent curriculum, analyze the implementation of the science learning process, and analyze the needs of teachers and students in science learning at SMP Negeri 1 Bua Ponrang. This type of research is classified as descriptive qualitative research. The data collection techniques used were interview guides, observation sheets and documentation. The results of this research show that the science learning needs at SMP Negeri 1 Bua Ponrang have generally been met and well realized. The process of implementing science learning based on the implementation of the independent curriculum has been carried out well, implementing differentiated learning tailored to the needs of students and implementing assessments in the form of formative assessments and summative assessments. By achieving the needs in science learning, learning will be carried out well and effectively and students will be active in learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas penggunaan AR dalam pembelajaran fisika. Efektivitas ini dapat ditinjau pada hasil belajar, pemahaman konsep, keterampilan berpikir, dan motivasi belajar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur sistematis (systematic literature review) yang mengkaji hasil-hasil penelitian sebelumnya mengenai penggunaan AR dalam pembelajaran fisika. Adapun sumber literatur yang digunakan berasal dari jurnal akademik yang diperoleh dari berbagai portal pengindeks ilmiah terkemuka, seperti Google Scholar, SINTA, Garuda, dan basis data ilmiah lainnya yang kredibel serta diterbitkan antara tahun 2020 hingga 2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan AR dalam pembelajaran fisika memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar dan pemahaman konsep. AR mampu memvisualisasikan fenomena fisika yang kompleks, seperti gerak planet, perpindahan kalor, magnet, gerak melingkar, gerak lurus, getaran, gelombang dan bunyi, serta struktur atom, sehingga memudahkan peserta didik dalam memahami materi. Selain itu, AR juga terbukti dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir dan motivasi belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

Tragedi banjir bandang di Kecamatan Sentani pada 2019 yang dipicu oleh curah hujan ekstrem di Pegunungan Cyclops menjadi bukti nyata perlunya langkah mitigasi yang berkelanjutan. Namun, realitanya kesadaran siswa terhadap pentingnya mitigasi bencana masih tergolong rendah. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, pendidikan kebencanaan perlu diupayakan secara sistematis, salah satunya melalui integrasi materi ke dalam mata pelajaran Fisika. Langkah ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat kesiapsiagaan komunitas sekolah di Sentani. Mengingat minimnya pemahaman siswa SMA mengenai prosedur keselamatan, program pengabdian ini hadir untuk mengedukasi siswa melalui sosialisasi dan simulasi menggunakan bantuan e-book mitigasi banjir berbasis konsep fisika. Program ini melibatkan 26 siswa Kelas X SMA YPPGI Sentani menggunakan desain pre-test post-test one group. Durasi pengabdian yang dilakukan dari awal hingga akhir selama kurang lebih 3 jam. Temuan di lapangan menunjukkan kesiapsiagaan meningkat ke kategori "Sangat Siap" dengan skor rata-rata post-test sebesar 83,81, nilai N-gain mencapai 0,6 (termasuk dalam kategori sedang), respon siswa terjadi perubahan persepsi positif sebesar 88%, serta tingkat kepuasan terhadap media e-book mencapai rata-rata 68,96 (kategori sangat baik). Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan literasi kebencanaan dan memperkokoh ketahanan sekolah dalam menghadapi ancaman banjir di masa depan.

Abstract

Physics learning in schools often remains dominated by conventional methods, resulting in low student motivation and suboptimal cognitive learning outcomes, particularly when abstract concepts are taught without adequate support for practicum. This condition becomes more challenging in schools with limited laboratory facilities. This study aimed to examine the implementation of discovery-learning-based student worksheets assisted by PhET Interactive Simulations and to determine their effects on students’ learning motivation and cognitive learning outcomes in physics, particularly in the direct current electricity material. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The research was conducted at Muhammadiyah Senior High School Jayapura and involved 41 students selected through purposive sampling. The instruments used were a learning motivation questionnaire and pretest-posttest items measuring cognitive learning outcomes. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, N-gain, independent-samples t-test, and MANOVA using SPSS 16.0. The results showed that students who learned with discovery-learning-based student worksheets assisted by PhET interactive simulations had higher motivation and better cognitive learning outcomes than those who learned with textbook-based worksheets. The independent-samples t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference in learning motivation between the two groups. In addition, the MANOVA yielded a p-value of 0.000 < 0.005, indicating a significant difference in both motivation and cognitive learning outcomes. The novelty of this study lies in the integrated use of discovery-learning-based student worksheets and PhET interactive simulations to simultaneously enhance student motivation and cognitive achievement in physics. In conclusion, this approach is effective in fostering active, interactive, and meaningful learning while also serving as an alternative for schools with limited laboratory resources. This study contributes to physics education by providing empirical evidence that integrating structured worksheets, discovery learning, and virtual simulations can enhance both the quality of instruction and student learning performance.
