Abstract

Floods and landslides are one of the many main problems faced in Indonesia, including in Southeast Sulawesi, which has a major impact on the lives of its people. In dealing with floods and landslides, mitigation knowledge is needed as an effort to recognize the risk of floods and landslides, as well as how to deal with them. This study aims to evaluate the level of knowledge of grade VIII students of SMPN 01 Wundulako, Kolaka Regency related to flood and landslide disaster mitigation. Through research using a quantitative approach to disaster education, students are equipped with an understanding of the causes, impacts, and mitigation actions of disasters. The results of the study show that the percentage of students' knowledge about flood disaster mitigation, which is 79.7%, is in the high category, and the percentage of students' knowledge level about landslide disaster mitigation, which is 89%, is in the very high category, so that the average of the overall data is 84.4%. Knowledge about disaster mitigation needs to be improved through learning programs that are structured, interactive, and in accordance with students' level of understanding. This step is expected to be able to create a generation that is more aware and ready to face potential disasters in the future.

Abstract

Desa Sumber Rejeki merupakan salah satu wilayah di Kecamatan Watubangga, Kabupaten Kolaka, yang sering mengalami banjir akibat curah hujan tinggi dan kondisi topografi yang bervariasi. Permasalahan utama desa ini adalah belum tersedianya data spasial seperti peta administrasi dan peta daerah rawan banjir yang dapat digunakan untuk mitigasi dan perencanaan pembangunan. Berbeda dari pendekatan responsif sebelumnya, kegiatan ini menerapkan metode pemetaan partisipatif berbasis GIS untuk menghasilkan peta rawan banjir dan peta administrasi terbaru sebagai dasar mitigasi preventif di wilayah yang minim data spasial. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi empat tahap, yaitu: (1) persiapan dengan pengumpulan data sekunder; (2) survei lapangan berbasis partisipatif untuk memperoleh data primer dan informasi lokal; (3) analisis dan pemetaan menggunakan metode skoring dan overlay dalam perangkat lunak ArcGIS; serta (4) validasi hasil peta bersama pemerintah dan masyarakat desa. Pengetahuan lokal warga berdasarkan pengalaman historis terhadap banjir memberikan informasi penting mengenai lokasi rawan, kedalaman, durasi, dan penyebab banjir yang sering kali tidak terdeteksi oleh teknologi konvensional. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa wilayah Desa Sumber Rejeki terdiri atas tiga tingkat kerawanan banjir, yaitu tidak rawan (±70%), cukup rawan (±19%), dan rawan (±11%). Peta yang dihasilkan tidak hanya berguna untuk mitigasi bencana, tetapi juga untuk perencanaan pembangunan desa yang lebih aman, partisipatif, dan berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini menegaskan bahwa pendekatan pemetaan partisipatif berbasis SIG mampu memperkuat ketahanan masyarakat melalui pengelolaan risiko berbasis lokal, dan dapat dijadikan model bagi desa lain yang memiliki risiko banjir serupa. Spatial Analysis Of Flood-Prone Areas In Sumber Rejeki Village  Abstrak Sumber Rejeki Village is one of the areas in Watubangga Subdistrict, Kolaka Regency, which often experiences flooding due to high rainfall and varied topography. The main problem facing this village is the lack of spatial data, such as administrative maps and flood-prone area maps, which can be used for mitigation and development planning. Unlike previous responsive approaches, this activity applies a GIS-based participatory mapping method to produce the latest flood-prone maps and administrative maps as a basis for preventive mitigation in areas with minimal spatial data. The implementation method consists of four stages, namely: (1) preparation by collecting secondary data; (2) participatory field surveys to obtain primary data and local information; (3) analysis and mapping using scoring and overlay methods in ArcGIS software; and (4) validation of map results with the government and village community. Local residents' knowledge based on historical experiences of flooding provides important information about vulnerable locations, depth, duration, and causes of flooding that are often undetectable by conventional technology. The results of the activity show that the Sumber Rejeki Village area consists of three levels of flood vulnerability, namely not vulnerable (±70%), moderately vulnerable (±19%), and vulnerable (±11%). The resulting map is not only useful for disaster mitigation, but also for planning safer, more participatory, and sustainable village development. This activity confirms that a participatory GIS-based mapping approach can strengthen community resilience through local risk management, and can serve as a model for other villages facing similar flood risks.

Abstract

The utilization of digital technology in learning has become an essential requirement in the modern era of education. However, many teachers have yet to optimally utilize technology-based learning media. This community service activity aims to enhance teachers' knowledge and skills in utilizing the Canva application as a creative and innovative learning medium at SMA Negeri 1 Pomalaa. The method used in this activity is a descriptive quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The subjects consisted of 15 teachers who participated in training on the use of the Canva application. The activity was carried out through three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the evaluation stage, measurements were taken via pre-test and post-test to determine the increase in participants' understanding after the training. The results of the activity indicate a significant increase in teachers' understanding of using Canva as a learning medium. The percentage of participants' understanding before the training was 23%, which increased to 92% after the training—a total improvement of 69%, falling into the "Good" category. These results demonstrate that the training on the utilization of the Canva application is effective in improving teachers' ability to develop more creative and interactive learning media. Consequently, the use of Canva can serve as an alternative learning medium capable of supporting the creation of more engaging, innovative, and effective learning processes in schools. ABSTRAK Pemanfaatan teknologi digital dalam pembelajaran menjadi salah satu kebutuhan penting di era pendidikan modern. Namun, masih banyak guru yang belum memanfaatkan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi secara optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru dalam memanfaatkan aplikasi Canva sebagai media pembelajaran yang kreatif dan inovatif di SMA Negeri 1 Pomalaa. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest. Subjek kegiatan terdiri dari 15 orang guru yang mengikuti pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi Canva. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap evaluasi dilakuka engukuran melalui pre- test dan post-test untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman peserta setelah mengikuti pelatihan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman guru yang signifikan terhadap penggunaan Canva sebagai media pembelajaran. Persentase pemahaman peserta sebelum pelatihan berada pada angka 23%, sedangkan setelah pelatihan meningkat menjadi 92%, dengan peningkatan sebesar 69% yang berada pada kategori baik. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan pemanfaatan aplikasi Canva efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran yang lebih kreatif dan interaktif. Dengan demikian, penggunaan Canva dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif media pembelajaran yang mampu mendukung terciptanya proses pembelajaran yang lebih menarik, inovatif, dan efektif di sekolah
