Abstract

Greenhouse is a modern agricultural technology that allows for increased agricultural yields. The purpose of this study was to analyze the thermal distribution in the greenhouse of the Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA) in 3 time conditions, namely in the morning, afternoon and evening. The method used is CFD modeling using Solidwork. The dimensions of the greenhouse are 12.5 x 25 x 4.26 m³. The greenhouse is divided into a grid into 20 thermal measurement points separated by 2.5 m. The greenhouse has 2 cooling pads and 2 exhaust fans separated by 12.5 m. Model validation using MAPE and R2. The results of the analysis show that 3 models have valid results with MAPE 10% and R2 0.75 and can continue in the review of thermal distribution. of the 3 time condition models that provide a thermal distribution of 28 - 37 ℃. Morning conditions are hotter than afternoon and evening. Cold air from the cooling pad sucked by the exhaust fan is only able to control an area 50%. So the thermal distribution of the greenhouse needs improvement.

Abstract

Flooding is a significant environmental problem in Bandar Lampung City, influenced by various factors such as rainfall, humidity, etc. This study aims to analyze the factors that contribute to flooding and build a prediction model for flood patterns. The methods used include factor analysis with Random Forest Classifier and prediction model using ARIMA, Random Forest Regressor, and XGBoost Regressor. The results show that rainfall is the dominant factor with a feature importance value of 0.49. From the results of the comparison of prediction models, XGBoost Regressor provides the best performance with an RMSE value of 0.88, From the results of the comparison of prediction models, XGBoost Regressor provides the best performance with an RMSE value of 0.88 and MAE of 0.75, as well as a positive R2 value of 0.11. The conclusion of this study confirms that the ensemble learning-based machine learning method is superior to statistical models in predicting flood events.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to introduce the Internet of Things to children, particularly those in orphanages. The extraordinary development of digital communication technology offers significant positive impacts when properly understood. The method implemented is a knowledge transfer approach, which includes lectures and dialogues, along with examples of commonly used applications. The evaluation was conducted by dividing the participants into two groups: children and teenagers. For the children, the evaluation method involved a question-and-answer session with the success parameter being the number of participants raising their hands. For the teenagers, a pre-test and post-test consisting of multiple-choice questions were administered. The results were quite remarkable, with the success rate for the children reaching 62.5% and the teenagers nearly 88%, proving that the material was very well absorbed.

Abstract

Metro 6 State Senior High School is one of the schools that produces the best graduates in Metro City. Learning at this school strives to utilize the latest technology that is in accordance with the needs of the times. One technology that has not been taught at this school is Internet of Things technology. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept that refers to a network of physical devices connected via the internet, which are able to exchange data without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. In the context of IoT, "physical devices" can include various types of objects, such as sensors, vehicles, household appliances, medical devices, and many more. Metro 6 State Senior High School students do not yet have an understanding of IoT theory and applications. This PKM activity introduces IoT technology through knowledge dissemination and practical assistance for IoT applications in simple applications such as turning on lights via smartphones. The results of this PKM activity are that students' knowledge of IoT theory and applications has increased by more than 100%, as shown by the results of the pre-test with an average score of 39.41 increasing to 80.59 in the post-test. In addition, students are also able to practice turning on lights via IoT-based smartphones. In addition, students of SMA Negeri 6 are facilitated with esp32 microcontrollers, relays and other tools that support the sustainability of IoT practical activities at this school.

Abstract

The light source that comes from sunlight entering directly into the room, especially in the morning and afternoon, is called natural lighting. SNI 03-2396-2001 states that ideal natural lighting during the day, from 08:00 to 16:00 WIB, should provide evenly distributed light throughout the room without causing glare. The standard illumination for martial arts training rooms ranges from 300 lux (minimum), 350 lux (medium), and 500 lux (maximum). The aim of the research is to evaluate and optimize natural lighting in sports spaces, particularly the Hapkido room on the second floor of the BTC (Bagoes Training Center) Gym in Seputih Raman, Lampung. The quality, orientation of window openings, and the distribution of light entering the building through windows are important factors in utilizing natural lighting. With larger window sizes, there is a need to control the amount of light entering the room. A quantitative method is used in this research. Data is collected through observation, literature review, light intensity measurements in the field, and simulations of current conditions using DIALux Evo. Data analysis uses mathematical formulas. The results show that lighting at BTC (Bagoes Training Center) Gym lacks light intensity and does not meet the standard. As a result, athletes feel less comfortable during training. At BTC Gym, lighting intensity has been adjusted to meet the lighting standards through several changes, such as lowering glass reflectance, altering window sizes, changing the type of window glass, and reducing sun shading. The lighting level has been improved, and the room now meets the SNI 03-2396-2001 standard. The Daylight Factor should be between 2% and 5%, with TUU between 0.5 and 0.8, and TUS between 0.3 and 0.5. A Daylight Factor above 10% can cause glare, uneven light distribution, and excessive heating, which requires design modifications to ensure optimal natural lighting.
