Abstract

Water quality is one of the important factors to increase the success of aquaculture production besides disease factors and fish seed quality. Water quality in auaculture ponds greatly affects the growth, survival, and production of tilapia. Several factors that affect water quality are the acidity level (pH). The maximum pH value ranges from 6.5 to 8.5. This study aims to design an automatic water pH control system in tilapia ponds. The water quality control system in fish ponds is often done manually so it is less efficient. The system is designed by combining a pH sensor pump, and solenoid valves using ESP32 microcontroller. When the pH sensor detects a pH value of less than 6.5 or more than 8.5, the system will automatically change the water. The test results in the pond showed that the system was able to respond with the respective rise time and settling time values, namely 1240s and 1380s. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the pH control system that was built can function according to the design.

Abstract

Metro 6 State Senior High School is one of the schools that produces the best graduates in Metro City. Learning at this school strives to utilize the latest technology that is in accordance with the needs of the times. One technology that has not been taught at this school is Internet of Things technology. The Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept that refers to a network of physical devices connected via the internet, which are able to exchange data without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. In the context of IoT, "physical devices" can include various types of objects, such as sensors, vehicles, household appliances, medical devices, and many more. Metro 6 State Senior High School students do not yet have an understanding of IoT theory and applications. This PKM activity introduces IoT technology through knowledge dissemination and practical assistance for IoT applications in simple applications such as turning on lights via smartphones. The results of this PKM activity are that students' knowledge of IoT theory and applications has increased by more than 100%, as shown by the results of the pre-test with an average score of 39.41 increasing to 80.59 in the post-test. In addition, students are also able to practice turning on lights via IoT-based smartphones. In addition, students of SMA Negeri 6 are facilitated with esp32 microcontrollers, relays and other tools that support the sustainability of IoT practical activities at this school.

Abstract

Room comfort is critical for enhancing productivity, particularly in classrooms. Two key factors are temperature and lighting, governed by ASHRAE 55 for thermal comfort (PMV range of –0.5 to 0.5) and SNI 6197:2020 for classroom lighting (350 lux). This study develops an intelligent system that coordinates occupant detection with temperature and lighting control. Occupant detection was implemented using the Single Shot MultiBox Detector (SSD) with MobileNetV2, a camera as the sensor, and image processing on an NVIDIA Jetson Nano. The detected occupant coordinates were used to control lighting patterns, while temperature was measured with a DHT22 sensor and regulated through PMV-based calculations. The recommended temperature setpoints were transmitted to an air conditioner via an IR blaster controlled by an ESP8266. Experimental results show that the detection system achieved 95% accuracy, 99% precision, 95% recall, and a 97% F1-score at a threshold of 0.3. The lighting control system achieved a MAPE of 14.49%, while the temperature control system achieved a MAPE of 4.53% with an average MAE of 1.1 °C. These findings demonstrate that the proposed system effectively integrates occupant detection with automated temperature and lighting control, ensuring improved classroom comfort.
