Abstract

This research aims to analyze the issues that arise in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in Senior High Schools (SMA). The Independent Curriculum, which is designed to encourage project-based learning and student character development, presents both opportunities and challenges for PAI teachers in managing diverse classes. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The research results show that several main issues include difficulties in developing teaching modules that are in accordance with religious values, limited time in managing a busy curriculum, and the need for further training for teachers in implementing student-centered learning methods. In addition, lack of support from parents and challenges in assessing students' attitudinal competence are additional obstacles in achieving learning goals. This study recommends continued support from the government, increasing teacher capacity, and synergy with parents to optimize the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in PAI subjects. It is hoped that the results of this research can become a reference for developing a curriculum that is more adaptive and relevant to the needs of students.

Abstract

Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Pendidikan Karakter (PAI BP) memegang peranan yang sangat penting dalam membentuk karakter dan akhlak generasi muda. Melalui mata kuliah ini, peserta didik tidak hanya diajarkan tentang ilmu agama secara teoritis, tetapi juga bagaimana cara mengaplikasikannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Dalam konteks pendidikan di Indonesia, PAI BP merupakan salah satu mata kuliah yang terintegrasi dalam kurikulum nasional dengan tujuan untuk membentuk pribadi yang tidak hanya cerdas secara intelektual, tetapi juga berakhlak mulia. Keunggulan mata kuliah PAI BP terletak pada pendekatannya yang holistik, memadukan aspek spiritual, sosial, dan etika. Mata kuliah ini membantu peserta didik untuk memahami dan menginternalisasi nilai-nilai agama yang relevan dengan perkembangan zaman, serta membimbing mereka dalam menghadapi tantangan moral dan sosial di masyarakat. Selain itu, integrasi PAI BP dengan mata kuliah lain dalam kurikulum juga merupakan strategi yang efektif dalam memperkaya pengalaman belajar peserta didik. Dengan integrasi tersebut, peserta didik tidak hanya memperoleh pemahaman agama yang lebih mendalam, tetapi juga mampu mengaitkannya dengan ilmu pengetahuan lain, seperti IPA, sosial, dan bahasa, sehingga pembelajaran menjadi lebih kontekstual dan relevan dengan kehidupan mereka.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of inclusive education as a social justice strategy at SD IT Alam Talago. Inclusive education is seen as an important approach in ensuring the rights of every student to receive equal educational services without discrimination, especially for students with diverse learning needs. The main problem in this study relates to how the school applies the principles of inclusivity in learning and the challenges faced in its implementation. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research informants consisted of class teachers, assistant teachers, and the principal who were selected purposively. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that SD IT Alam Talago has implemented inclusive education through adaptation of learning methods, task differentiation, the use of varied media, and the provision of special assistance for students in need. In addition, the school has built a positive culture that emphasizes acceptance of diversity, collaboration between teachers, and parental involvement. However, obstacles still encountered are limited supporting facilities and differences in teacher competency in handling special needs. Overall, inclusive education at SD IT Alam Talago has been effective as a social justice strategy in creating a fair, friendly, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
