Abstract

Dental and oral diseases that are a public health problem in general are in the supporting tissue of the teeth (periodontal diseases) and dental caries/cavities. This caries can be caused by various things between dental and oral health problems are important in health development, one of which is caused by the vulnerability of school-age children from dental health disorders. The purpose of Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat is to assess the status of dental and oral health in this case dental caries using the DMF-T value (decay, missing, filled, teeth). The DMF-T value is a number that indicates the number of teeth with caries in a person or group of people. The number d is a tooth that has a cavity due to dental caries, the number m is a tooth that has been extracted due to caries, the number f is a tooth that has been filled or filled due to caries and is in good condition. The method used in Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat activities is a direct examination of students who have become respondents. The results of community service, namely student knowledge, do not automatically encourage respondents to make efforts to maintain dental health properly and correctly, both in terms of maintaining a cariogenic diet or good and correct tooth brushing habits. The conclusion of this activity is that the DMF-T status of tooth decay in students is quite high, therefore it is necessary to do more education in preventing caries in early childhood.

Abstract

Gigi tiruan lepasan adalah gigi tiruan yang menggantikan satu atau lebih gigi dan jaringan sekitarnya, yang dapat dikeluar masukkan kedalam mulut oleh pemakainya dan dikenal dengan istilah removable denture. Tujuan dari pembuatan gigi tiruan ini adalah memperbaiki fungsi estetik, meningkatkan fungsi fonetik, dan mempertahankan jaringan mulut yang masih ada. Sangat penting untuk mengganti gigi yang hilang dengan gigi palsu untuk menjaga kesehatan umum, kesehatan gigi, dan kesehatan mulut, serta untuk mencegah gangguan yang disebabkan oleh kehilangan gigi. Prosedur pembuatan gigi tiruan flexy dilakukan secara bertahap dimulai dari penerimaan model kerja, pembuatan basis model kerja, surveying dan block out, pembuatan cengkeram, pembuatan basis malam dan galangan gigit (bite rim), penanaman model pada artikulator, penyusunan elemen gigi, flasking, boiling out, injection, deflasking, finishing dan polishing. Untuk tahap akhir dari sebuah gigi tiruan harus halus dan mengkilap, tidak bergurat,serta oklusi baik. Polishing dan finishing yang baik akan membuat gigi tiruan akan sangat layak untuk digunakan oleh para penggunanya. Kejadian ini menjadi dasar kami untuk melakukan pengabdian masyarakat. Bertitik tolak dari hal di atas, dosen Universitas Megarezky Makassar, khususnya DIII Teknik Gigi merasa bertanggungjawab dan terpanggil untuk mengatasi dan memahami masalah perbaikan keadaan tersebut, khususnya dalam pegenalan jenis gigi tiruan berbahan flexy dan cara merawat gigi tiruannya.

Abstract

Food is something that affects the condition in the mouth locally during mastication and after being swallowed will affect the growth and development of the pre and post tooth eruption. Dental disease that is often encountered is caries. The process of caries is caused by food debris attached to the surface of the teeth and if leftovers are not cleaned, acids will form so that bacteria will take place quickly and cause dental caries. The sample used in the study was 30 respondents who came for treatment at the Pampang Health Center, Makassar City. This research was conducted at the Pampang Health Center, Makassar City. The sample method used in this research was purposive sampling, which was taken using criteria, and the data taken for analysis was primary data obtained by giving questionnaires and dental examinations using observation sheets to patients who had came for treatment at the puskesmas. This research was a descriptive study, namely to describe the mother's knowledge about the effect of sucrose-containing foods on the occurrence of dental caries at the Pampang Health Center, Makassar City.
