Abstract

One way to utilize organic waste waste is to process it into organic waste briquettes. Therefore, this study aims to utilize renewable energy from organic waste biomass to make briquette products that can overcome the accumulation of organic waste and obtain high-value products. Making briquettes from organic waste by applying heat and pressure is useful to get an orderly shape and a high calorific value. To obtain a solid, good and perfect briquette product, testing is carried out with temperature and moisture content regulation parameters during printing. The organic waste to be printed has become a powder that has been filtered with a sieve measuring 18 mesh. The briquettes are made using airtight molds by using threaded bolts at the time of pressing, applying heat during printing varying with temperatures of 250 ⁰C, 280 ⁰C, and 310 ⁰C, holding time of 10 minutes, and also setting the moisture content of 0%, 50%, and 80% of the dry weight of the raw material. The result of a good briquette product is obtained at a temperature of 310 ⁰C and a moisture content of 80% because it has become a solid briquette and has undergone a significant color change due to the decomposition process when the printing darkens.

Abstract

The fuel oil energy source used is currently experiencing a fuel supply shortage, so it is necessary to have alternative energy sources with renewable and environmentally friendly raw materials to anticipate the increasingly depleting oil fuel sources. One of them is utilizing biomass energy with agricultural waste as raw material which is processed into briquettes. The material used in this research is palm oil shells using tapioca adhesive which will be processed into briquettes as an alternative fuel. Through the process of making briquette products with variations in the composition of the mixture provided, quality calorific value can be achieved. The research results showed that the highest calorific value of palm oil shell briquettes was found in the 80% : 20% mixture variation, namely 13428.5904 Kj/Kg, and the lowest calorific value was found in the 60% : 40% mixture variation, namely 9139.76928 Kj/Kg .

Abstract

Media pembelajaran adalah alat yang menyediakan materi agar mudah dipahami dan dipelajari secara lebih efektif dan menarik guna mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Berdasarkan Pengamatan yang dilaksanakan di SMK Negeri 5 Padang menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran konvensional seperti ceramah dan buku cetak masih sering digunakan, tetapi efektifnya hanya pada tahap awal pembelajaran. Setelah itu, siswa cenderung lupa langkah-langkah pekerjaan dan kurang termotivasi, yang dapat mengakibatkan hasil belajar rendah. Studi ini bermaksud melihat bagaimana pemanfaatan media dalam proses pembelajaran berbasis video tutorial terhadap prestasi belajar siswa teknik pemesinan bubut di kelas XI SMK Negeri 5 Padang. Desain penelitian Quasi Experiment dipakai dalam penelitian ini. Jumlah subjeknya adalah 62 siswa yang terbagi menjadi kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Pada Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata siswa di kelas eksperimen adalah 76,71, sedangkan dikelas kontrol 64,71 dari nilai tersebut dapat diperoleh bahwa nilai rata rata kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Untuk kedua kelompok kelas dengan melakukan uji t diperoleh nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) < 0,050. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai t hitung sebesar 5,690 > t tabel. 2,0003. Dengan temuan yang telah dilakukan dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa penerapan media pembelajaran menggunakan tutorial video memiliki dampak yang baik pada hasil belajar siswa.
