Abstract

Vitamin D plays an important role in various metabolic functions, including glucose regulation. Vitamin D deficiency has been increasing worldwide and is now a global health concern. Several studies have shown an association between low vitamin D levels and an increased risk of insulin resistance and impaired glucose metabolism. This study aims to determine the relationship between vitamin D levels and fasting blood glucose in medical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Baiturrahmah University, Padang. This study was an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design. The research sample consisted of 52 medical students from the Faculty of Medicine, Baiturrahmah University. The mean vitamin D level was 23.35 ± 10.71 ng/ml. The mean fasting blood glucose level was 79.61 ± 1.17 mg/dl. The Spearman correlation analysis between serum vitamin D levels and fasting blood glucose showed an r-value of 0.04 and a p-value of 0.76. There was no significant relationship between vitamin D levels and fasting blood glucose.

Abstract

Coffee is a drink that has deep meaning in the Islamic world, covering spiritual, health and social aspects. This study method uses a literature approach by collecting and analyzing the latest research regarding the role of coffee in the context of the sunnah, health benefits and social traditions among Muslims. The study results show that coffee is not only considered a halal drink and beneficial for health, but also as a symbol of brotherhood and strong cultural identity, strengthening social relations in various Muslim communities around the world.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the need to understand the strategies for improving the competence and professionalism of teachers at SMK Putra Pelita Tenjolaya. Teaching is a profession characterized by a certain level of professionalism. The purpose of this study is to identify strategies for enhancing teacher competence. The research employs a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data collection is conducted through semi-structured interviews. The results of this study indicate that there are several ways to enhance the professionalism and competence of teachers. These include organizing continuous training and self-development programs. Additionally, teachers can collaborate with peers to enrich insights and understanding. The role of the school principal in enhancing teacher professionalism is also crucial as a form of support for the progress of teachers at SMK Putra Pelita Tenjolaya.
