Abstract

This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis and implement strategic learning planning through a differentiated learning approach by utilizing Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based media to enhance students' learning interest. A case study was conducted in the Tegallega Cluster, Warungkondang Sub-district, Cianjur Regency, which includes several elementary schools with diverse student characteristics. This research is motivated by the problem of low student learning interest caused by the monotony of conventional teaching strategies and the limited use of media relevant to the digital era, which makes learning less engaging and fails to meet students' individual needs. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through direct classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and school principals, questionnaires for students and parents, and document studies related to previously implemented lesson plans. Data analysis was conducted thematically to explore patterns and the effectiveness of implementing a differentiated learning strategy designed based on students' varying abilities, learning styles, and interests. ICT-based media, such as interactive learning applications, educational videos, multimedia presentations, and online platforms like Learning Management Systems (LMS), were used as primary tools to support the learning process. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of differentiated learning using ICT-based media had a significant positive impact on increasing students' learning interest. The teachers involved in the study were able to develop more innovative and flexible lesson plans by adapting the content and approach based on the needs of students in heterogeneous classrooms.

Abstract

Local values play a strategic role in shaping the character and identity of students, especially in the context of Vocational High Schools (SMK) which prepare students to enter the workforce while maintaining local cultural roots. In Warungkondang District, Cianjur Regency, the tradition of making tempeh has become part of the community's life which is rich in cultural values such as mutual cooperation, hard work, responsibility, and independence. However, in learning practices at SMK Al Ahmad, this local potential has not been fully integrated into the curriculum, especially in the Arts and Crafts (SBDP) subject. In fact, learning based on local wisdom can strengthen the relevance and meaningfulness of the education process. This study aims to analyze how craft learning by making tempeh can strengthen local values and foster student independence. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects of the study included SBDP teachers and grade X students at SMK Al Ahmad. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that project-based craft learning of making tempeh carried out in a participatory and contextual manner had a positive impact on strengthening students' independent character. Students showed increased ability in planning, making decisions, solving problems, and increasing self-confidence and responsibility. Strengthening local values through the learning process also fosters appreciation for regional culture and strengthens the relationship between schools and communities. Thus, the integration of local wisdom in craft learning is proven to not only enrich students' learning experiences, but also be an effective strategy in character building. This model can be replicated and developed in other contexts as a contribution to contextual, transformative, and sustainable education.

Abstract

Abstract: This study explores the implementation of an oyster mushroom cultivation project as a contextual learning model at Sadarmanah Elementary School, located in Campaka Mulya District. The objective of the project was to enhance students’ understanding of scientific and environmental concepts while simultaneously fostering practical skills, critical thinking, and character development. Using a project-based learning (PjBL) framework, students were actively engaged in every stage of the cultivation process, including planning, preparation, observation, and harvesting. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, student journals, and performance assessments. The findings reveal significant improvements in students' conceptual understanding of biology and ecosystems, as well as the development of soft skills such as collaboration, responsibility, and environmental awareness. Moreover, the project served as a bridge between classroom theory and real-life applications, aligning well with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum and the Profile of Pancasila Students. This study suggests that contextual, environmentally-based project learning is an effective strategy to enrich learning experiences and support the holistic growth of elementary students.

Abstract

Character education plays an important role in shaping students' personalities with integrity, morality and independence, especially in facing the challenges of globalization that often erode local cultural heritage. However, the implementation of local wisdom-based character education in Arts, Culture and Crafts (SBDP) learning at the elementary school level faces quite significant challenges, including the lack of integration between educational content and local cultural values. In other words, this study highlights the importance of a local wisdom-based approach in bridging academic learning with character education while preserving cultural heritage. The findings recommend its implementation as a practical and sustainable strategy to develop the intellectual and moral capacity of elementary school students. This study aims to (1) find and describe the implementation of local wisdom-based character education through Arts, Culture and Crafts learning of SDN Gedeh 3 students and (2) identify obstacles and strategies to optimize its implementation in Arts, Culture and Crafts learning. This study uses a case study approach with a qualitative method. The research findings show that (1) the implementation of Arts, Culture and Crafts learning can shape students' character; (2) This integration not only improves students' understanding of SBDP material but also strengthens their cultural identity and appreciation of local traditions.
