Abstract

This research aims to analyze the phonetic system in the use of Madurese in the Klenang Lor community, Probolinggo. Madurese is one of the regional languages ​​in Indonesia which has phonetic and phonological characteristics, making it interesting to study in the sociolinguistic context of local communities. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the analysis show that the Klenang Lor people tend to use Madurese with the influence of local dialects which influence the pronunciation of vowels, consonants and intonation. Certain phonemes such as /ʈ/, /ɖ/, and /ʔ/ have an important role in distinguishing word meanings. Apart from that, there are phonetic adaptations that occur due to interactions with Javanese and Indonesian as the dominant languages ​​in the area. This study also found a shift in the use of Madurese among the younger generation who more often use Indonesian in daily communication. This research contributes to the preservation of regional languages ​​and becomes a reference for more in-depth linguistic studies. It is hoped that these findings will provide insight into how Madurese language phonetics are maintained and adapted in a multilingual society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the language strategies used in promotional articles about Bedil Island tourism published in local Banyuwangi online media and how the language forms the representation of the image of the tourist destination. Bedil Island is one of the new tourist destinations that is developing and starting to be known to the wider community, especially through online media coverage. Through a qualitative approach with a literature study method, this study examines two promotional articles about Bedil Island tourism published by different local sites. The results of the analysis show that the language strategies used include the use of metaphors, local origin narratives, strong visual descriptions, and the insertion of quantitative data to build the credibility of the information. Phrases such as “Banyuwangi's Raja Ampat” and “hidden natural lagoon” play an important role in building the reader's imagination of the beauty and exclusivity of Bedil Island. The representation of the image of Bedil Island is also formed through a combination of emotional, ecological, and rational aspects presented in the text. This study shows that the language in promotional articles is not neutral, but is used strategically to shape the perception and image of the destination in the minds of the audience. Therefore, understanding the use of language in tourism promotion is important, especially in the context of sustainable local tourism development.

Abstract

Menyelesaikan tugas akhir merupakan fase yang menuntut secara psikologis bagi mahasiswa, terutama bagi mereka yang berada di tahun terakhir, karena membutuhkan keterampilan akademik yang tinggi, manajemen waktu yang efektif, dan kesiapan mental yang kuat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan tingkat stres yang dialami mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP) Angkatan 2022 Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember selama proses penulisan tugas akhir serta mengidentifikasi faktor dominan yang menyebabkannya. Dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif, 123 responden dipilih melalui purposive sampling, dan data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner skala Likert yang mengukur intensitas stres serta faktor penyebabnya. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar mahasiswa mengalami tingkat stres sedang, diikuti oleh rendah dan tinggi. Dukungan sosial menjadi faktor paling berpengaruh, diikuti peran dosen pembimbing, tekanan waktu, prokrastinasi, dan beban akademik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa stres akademik dipengaruhi tidak hanya oleh tuntutan akademik, tetapi juga faktor interpersonal dan psikososial. Penelitian ini menekankan perlunya peningkatan kualitas bimbingan, penguatan layanan konseling, dan terciptanya lingkungan belajar yang mendukung, sebagai dasar strategi pendampingan mahasiswa yang lebih efektif di perguruan tinggi.
