Abstract

This research focuses on the survival strategies applied by traders in Pasar Ikan Lama, Medan, who have been operating traditionally for at least five years. Pasar Ikan Lama is a well-known textile market in Medan City, which attracts not only local people but also visitors from other regions such as Aceh, Padang, and Riau. In the face of challenges from the proliferation of online shopping, traders in the Pasar Ikan Lama must adapt to the rapid changes in information and communication technology. This study identifies various strategies used by traders to attract buyers, such as providing discounts and utilizing online sales. Data analysis was conducted through interviews and note collection to understand more about the strategies implemented by merchants. The research also highlights the importance of understanding existing digital tools, where digital optimization can provide a more personalized experience for customers. However, the challenge faced is the need to learn and invest in new technologies. Overall, this research provides insights into how traditional market traders can remain relevant and competitive in the digital age, as well as the importance of integrating digital strategies in their businesses to achieve long-term success.

Abstract

This study analyzes the optimization of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at PT Socfin Indonesia (Socfindo) and its relevance to the review of maslahah in improving community welfare. A research gap was identified from the striking difference between the company's broad claims about its CSR (based on the 2018-2024 sustainability report) and the critical perceptions of the community, which highlight fundamental issues such as agrarian conflicts and factory waste management. Using a qualitative approach with a single case study design and interview techniques (n=3 informants), this study analyzes the implementation of Stakeholder Theory. The findings show a tendency for the company to be reactive rather than proactive in responding to core stakeholder issues. Analytically, although PT Socfin Indonesia's CSR programs have the potential to bring about maslahah (benefits), the existence of mafsadah (harm/danger) caused by the company's core operations hinders the achievement of holistic welfare. The significant contribution of this research lies in the integration of the concept of maslahah as a critical analytical lens to evaluate the impact of CSR more comprehensively, beyond a purely normative framework. The research results underscore the urgency of a more participatory and proactive CSR approach in resolving root causes. The limitations of the study include the specific scope of informants in a single case, limiting direct generalization.

Abstract

Transaksi online merupakan proses pembelian dan penjualan barang yang dilakukan secara online yaitu melalaui internet. Transaksi online melibatkan penjual dan pembeli tanpa bertemu secara fisik, hanya melalui media yang berupa aplikasi di dalam sebuah ponsel. Dewasa ini, transaksi online telah menjadi fenomena yang semakin umum, di era kemjuan internet yang berkembang pesat membuat manusia mendapatkan kemudahan-kemudahan yang bisa ditemui hanya melalui sebuah ponsel. Meskipun demikian, tidak menutup kemungkinan dalam tranaksi online kosumen sering kali dirugikan akibat dari ulan produsen yang tidak jujur. Di Indonesia ada undang-undang yang mengatur perlindungan konsumen termasuk dalam konteks transaksi online, yaitu Tentang Penyelenggara Sistem dan Transaksi Elektronik, Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 82 Tahun 2012. Penelitian ini mencoba mengkaji fungsi hukum beberapa peraturan pemerintah yang mengatur lebih spesifik mengenai transaksi online, yaitu Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 82 Tahun 2012 Tentang Penyelenggara Sistem dan Transaksi Elektronik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran hukum dalam melindungi komsumen dalam transaksi online. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan studi pustaka penelitian ini memaparkan kerangka hukum yang mengatur mengenai traansaksi online.
