Abstract

Coloring is a technique of transferring color on a medium, either fabric, paper, as well as other objects that can absorb color. The coloring of the Japanese smock technique and the tie-dye technique, if they are combined in a fabric coloring process will produce new technology in the field of textiles that produce new pattern designs that are creative and innovative. The purpose of this study is: To find out the natural coloring process of the tie-dye tritik combination smock technique in the children's clothing making. The methods used in this coloring process are: 1) Research and Development Method; 2) Data Analysis. The process of making this natural coloring requires 4 trials using 2 types of natural colors with the help of a Validator as an assessor of the results of smock technique. The type of smock used is a Japanese smock pattern and the color chosen in this process is a material that is easy to get and is widely found around the author's environment. After determining the pattern and color used, continued by preparing tools and materials, selecting color materials, making color, making children's clothing. The conclusion that can be taken in the dyeing technique of this smock technique uses a good color locking material, one of which is alum, which has the property of binding color to the fabric.

Abstract

Mentoring training can be chosen as an alternative because of the large number of fashion industries in Central Java and business opportunities in the fashion sector, considering that clothing is a basic human need. So the opportunity to get a job in this field is very high. The training that will be given is making casual clothing consisting of a top in the form of a blouse and a bottom in the form of a skirt. The technique for making casual clothing, the process begins with taking correct body measurements, making basic patterns for the front and back of the body, both skirts and blouses, breaking up the pattern according to the design, process cutting material, sewing process and finishing process. It is this series of manufacturing processes that will produce good quality clothing, so that later with this skill, people can further develop it as initial capital in opening a business in the field of clothing sewing. This training aims to provide additional knowledge to participants in the field of clothing making. This training is expected to be able to add new experiences so as to improve the skills and competencies of participants. The methods used include the interactive method, demonstration method, and question and answer method. This training produces casual clothing and participants can master the process of measuring clothing, pattern making and clothing sewing techniques

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is rich of high value natural resources, one of them is its tropical climate that makes various types of plants easily grow. The various types of trees have their respective uses, especially in the fashion sector. Some trees in a part being used as natural textile dyes, which the existence can be easily obtained. Catappa leaves, guava leaves and castor leaves are plants that can be used as natural dyes in making Eco print iron blanket technique. The purpose of this training is to broaden the students’ knowledge, especially Cut Nyak Dien Vocational School students, in the Fashion Design program. Which can be used as an opportunity to start a business, later. The method used is by providing a training in making natural dyes from Catappa leaves, guava leaves and castor leaves in making Eco print iron blanket technique. This training produces fabric products with patterns and colors obtained from natural dyes using the iron blanket technique. Eco print products using natural dyes, Catappa leaves, guava leaves and castor leaves can be an alternative business opportunity which is environmentally friendly and a popular product.

Abstract

Women's empowerment activities are currently very much needed as a form of increasing abilities and skills. Skills can be used as additional abilities that can have economic value so that they can improve the economy. As women, it is time to show their quality that women are also able to be creative in other fields. This training is provided in order to provide experience, knowledge and skills in the field of making accessories and souvenirs as a complement to the delivery to the training participants. Participants in this training are taught techniques for making accessories, making souvenirs, assembling accessories for deliveries and folding techniques in making souvenirs. A series of processes for making accessories and souvenirs are expected to be able to produce skills in the field of fashion that have good quality to attract customer interest. This training is expected to have many benefits that can be taken and applied by participants after completing a series of training activities and returning to their respective activities. The results of the training are expected to be able to be applied to the lives and business fields of participants to improve the economy. The training methods used are interactive methods, demonstration methods, and question and answer methods. This training produces creativity in making souvenirs and accessories that complement deliveries that have economic selling value.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out in order to provide additional skills in making wedding souvenirs for delivery organizers. The aim of this activity is to increase knowledge, understanding and skills regarding the manufacture of delivery accessories for delivery management business groups in Semarang district. The results of observations that the author obtained in Semarang Regency are that there are many housewives who have great motivation to be able to have skills but do not yet understand what to do, so that they can be used as provisions to open and develop their business. Through training in making various decorative accessories and wedding souvenirs, they have the opportunity to open a business as an effort to improve their entrepreneurial skills in accepting orders for making wedding souvenirs to improve family welfare. In order to increase women's empowerment in entrepreneurship, it is necessary to provide training in making wedding accessories and souvenirs as well as skills in arranging gifts. This training activity uses interactive lecture methods, practice, question and answer and product evaluation. It is necessary to have knowledge about making accessories and souvenirs, as a business development effort. Therefore, making accessories and souvenirs is very necessary for everyone, not only to increase knowledge but also to increase motivation and increase self-confidence in opening a business.

Abstract

The fabric slashing technique is the appearance of a clothing that requires modifications to beautify the clothing. The way to beautify a garment is to be creative by using the fabric slashing technique which can make the garment more attractive. The purpose of this technique is to explain about the fabric slashing technique process along with making clothes that will be applied to ready to wear. Descriptive method is done by looking for information related to the technique. The fabric slashing technique uses a piece of cloth that is cut according to a pattern. This technique will be a research on how to do slashing techniques on ready to wear which will produce new motifs and textures on the surface of the fabric. This research produces new motifs and textures on the surface of the fabric that will look oozing at the edges. This research uses vertical and horizontal line motifs on the fabric surface. The slashing technique can be further expanded on the design with various variations such as changing the shape, size and color. The types of materials used can vary to see the results of the materials obtained are right or not.

Abstract

Patchwork is made by combining scrap cloth or patchwork with certain patterns or stitches, the writer used patchwork technique in creating ready to wear. The purposes of this technique is thus a writer researches and develops patchwork technique variations for finding out the results of the final result of applying a variety of patchwork techniques on ready to wear. The first method that was used in this research is R&D, a writer did research and development for producing the new products and improving existing products, and test the effectiveness' products. Those two finals of analysis data which is the results for determining the effect of applying patchwork techniques on ready to wear fashion. Those are the final results of three patchwork techniques that were generated by the author such as honeycomb, somerset patchwork, and cathedral window patchwork. The results of those three handicrafts were different, the honeycomb had neatly arranged hexagonal pieces and somerset had a star shape, and the cathedral window looked like a very beautiful window and was made by using folded piece of cloth then sewn neatly.

Abstract

Balinese cotton knitting yarn is the main material in making knitting applications on ready to wear. The author applies knitting applications including techniques, materials, color harmony, and design. The goal is to find out how to apply the knitting technique using balinese cotton knitting yarn on ready to wear. The research method used is R&D which contains potential problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product trial, product revision, usage trial, and product revision, and descriptive data analysis. The manufacturing stages start from the design, tools and materials, tailoring, to the finishing process. The application of knitting on this ready to wear uses a hand sewing technique that is done before the sewing process, in order to get a neat result. The author also pays attention in the selection of the color of the base material that matches the knitting thread. The application of knitting applications must consider the texture of the yarn with the base material to be used, so that when applied in ready to wear it looks neat and does not seem heavy.

Abstract

Tucking techniques are rarely used in making clothes, designers prefer to follow today's fashion trends, tucking manipulation techniques are able to change ordinary fabrics into 3-dimensional shapes, the purpose of this study is to be able to find out the finished results of making tucking techniques and to be able to find out the finished results of making simple dresses using variations of tucking techniques. The method used is the R & D method, to produce products and test the effectiveness of these products. The author has tested the tucking technique using 3 materials, namely satin, cotton, and balotelli fabric, as well as the size of folds and between folds 1.5 cm: 1.5 cm, 2 cm: 1 cm and 2 cm: 2 cm, trials have been validated to ask for assessments and suggestions related to materials and crease sizes that are suitable to be applied in making tucking, Balotelli material and the size of folds and folds 1.5 cm : 1.5 cm get the best value from the 4 validators. The process of making tucking to look neat must pay attention to the crease used with an accurate size, ensure the seam is straight, and ensure the sewn fold is ironed until slippery before sewing on the horizontal line.

Abstract

Camisole is one of the underwear that is commonly used to improve body shape so that it looks more beautiful and proportional. Most of the camisole is made by using a baleine stitch and attachd to the main material, this time the writer wants to try new things in making a camisole. Such as selection and placement Baleine on a camisole as a complement to a party outfit. The objectives of this research are: 1) To know the right type of baleine on a camisole; 2) Can know the placement of baleine on a camisole. The methods used in the selection and placement of baleine on a camisole as a complement to the party dress are: 1) R&D method; 2) Data Analysis. The selection and placement of Baleine on the camisole as a complement to the party outfit begins with determining the design. Camisole design to be made, preparation of tools and materials, taking measurements, making basic patterns, breaking patterns, cutting steps, and determining baleinejahit and baleine stitches that will be installed on the main material or will be attached to the furing (sewing process). Baleine installation can be done in two ways, namely attaching it to the main material and attaching it to the lining. It turns out that baleine sewing is more effective for making camisole, the result of a camisole that uses baleine sewing looks firm and good when used.
