Abstract

Salah satu faktor yang berperan penting dalam menjaga serta meningkatkan kinerja seorang karyawan adalah motivasi kerja. Hal ini salah satunya disebabkan karena karyawan memerlukan dorongan baik dari internal maupun eksternal dirinya dalam melakukan pekerjaannya. Penelitian ini pun kemudian bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran dari motivasi kerja terhadap performa karyawan UMKM utamanya yang berlokasi di Kota Makassar. Metode penelitian studi kasus digunakan dengan melakukan teknik wawancara di salah satu Kafe di Kota Makassar bernama Kafe Dua Jiwa Makassar. Penelitian ini kemudian menemukan bahwa motivasi kerja dari karyawan, baik intrinsik maupun ekstrinsik memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan performa karyawan, atau dengan kata lain, motivasi kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap performa karyawan UMKM. One of the factors that plays an important role in maintaining and improving the performance of an employee is work motivation. This is partly because employees need encouragement from both internal and external sources when doing their work. This research then aims to explore the role of work motivation in the performance of MSME employees, especially those located in Makassar City. The case study research method was used by conducting interview techniques at one of the cafes in Makassar City called Kafe Dua Jiwa Makassar. This research then found that work motivation from employees, both intrinsic and extrinsic, has an important role in improving employee performance, in other words, work motivation has a positive and significant effect on the performance of MSME employees.
