Waste management problems in Domas Village, Pontang District, Serang Regency, are partly caused by limited waste management facilities, leading residents to continue practicing open waste burning, which potentially generates smoke and residues and contributes to air pollution. This community service activity aimed to introduce and implement a rocket stove as an appropriate technology to support more efficient and low-smoke waste combustion while improving community knowledge and skills in waste management. The activity was conducted by KKM Group 30 of Universitas Bina Bangsa in 2026 using a participatory approach that involved the community in preparation, construction, testing, evaluation, socialization, and utilization of the equipment. The activity stages included a literature review, site survey, needs identification, design, material preparation, construction, testing, and socialization of rocket stove operation. Testing using 3 kg of organic waste produced 0.32 kg of residual material, equivalent to 10.67% of the initial mass, resulting in an 89.33% mass reduction. These results indicate that the rocket stove can support waste combustion and significantly reduce waste volume. The socialization activities also improved community understanding of the equipment’s function, operation, and safety. The implementation of a rocket stove can serve as an alternative appropriate technology to support more systematic, efficient, and low-smoke waste management in a sustainable, safe, and responsible manner.
