Abstract

Code mixing is one of the sociolinguistic studies characterized by the mixing of two or more languages. Code-mixing events that occur can vary and are caused by various things. In the UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan learning process, code mixing cannot be avoided due to the regional origin of students studying at UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan. Different regional backgrounds cause code mixing among students during learning. Thus, the results of the analysis of this research show that four types of code mixing occur at UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan during learning, namely: a) Word code mixing, b) Phrase code mixing, c) Clause code mixing, and d) Mixed barcode. In addition to identifying the types of code mixing, this research also uncovered the backgrounds contributing to code mixing at UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan, which include: a) Identification of roles (speakers and speech partners), b) Identification of varieties or styles of language features, and c) Limitations of language or terms.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of teachers’ strategies in addressing elementary students’ learning difficulties. The research problem originates from the persistent occurrence of students’ learning difficulties, which are indicated by low learning motivation, limited understanding of the subject matter, and variations in students’ abilities and learning styles. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation techniques applied to ensure data validity. The findings reveal that teachers’ strategies in overcoming learning difficulties are implemented through four main stages: identification of learning difficulties, differentiated instructional planning, implementation of adaptive teaching methods, and continuous evaluation and reflection. These strategies have been shown to enhance students’ engagement, improve their understanding of the material, and increase their confidence in the learning process. These findings highlight that adaptive and student-centered instructional strategies play a crucial role in addressing learning difficulties in elementary education.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low student learning outcomes in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) classes for Grade II students at MIN 1 South Tapanuli. Many students paid little attention to the teacher during lessons because the teaching methods employed lacked variety, resulting in low student engagement. The study aimed to determine student learning outcomes when using the demonstration method in PJOK classes at MIN 1 South Tapanuli. This was a classroom action research study comprising an initial baseline phase, Cycle I, and Cycle II, with each cycle consisting of two meetings. The subjects were 19 Grade II students. Data collection instruments included observation sheets and tests. Improvements were assessed based on test results and observations conducted by the researcher. During the pre-cycle phase, the average score for Grade II students was 54.2, with a mastery rate of 12.7%. In Cycle I, the average score was 63.1 with a mastery rate of 31.5% at the first meeting, and 70.0 with a mastery rate of 47.4% at the second meeting. In Cycle II, the average score was 74.7 with a mastery rate of 63.1% at the first meeting, and 79.4 with a mastery rate of 84.2% at the second meeting. The results across these cycles demonstrate an increase in average scores and mastery rates, indicating that the use of the demonstration method (supported by audiovisual media) can improve student learning outcomes in Physical Education, Sports, and Health.
