Kiai is a figure who determines who marries whom, especially if the one who marries his pesantren cadres, then the kiai has full authority to choose a life partner as the concept of kafa'ah in maintaining living sharia. In this view  of the kafa'ah, Ibn Hazm says “There is no haram for the marriage of unemployed Negroes with Banu Hashim and the wicked remain kufu with obedient women.” Likewise, noblemen also kufu with very wicked women. This type of research is literature research as part of qualitative descriptive research based on Raymond Gibbs' cognitive and communicative relevance theory approach. The results showed that cognitive relevance is that kiai see the way of thinking of their cadre partners by looking at their good understanding of religion. While the communicative relevance is, the concept of Ibn Hazm's kafa'ah to kiai who match his cadres by emphasizing moral ethics of communication to cadre pairs to maintain each other's dignity and substantial things in religion.   Keywords: Relevance Theory, Kafa’ah, Ibnu Hazm, Living Sharia

Abstract

Introducing Hijaiyah letters is essential as the foundation for Qur’an reading skills, particularly for children aged 5–6 years, which is considered a golden age in their development. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving observation, interviews, and documentation to collect data from teachers, parents, and children at the Anak Hebat (AHE) learning center. The findings reveal that AHE applies the AGA (Anak Surga) method, which incorporates titian ingatan (memory bridging) in the learning process. This method consists of six steps: brain gym, remedial, module reading, enrichment, writing, and educational games. Implementing this strategy has proven effective, as the children demonstrated significant improvement in recognizing letters, proper pronunciation, and reading short verses. Moreover, parental involvement in supporting learning at home also contributed to the success of the program. This study is expected to offer new insights into effective teaching strategies for non-formal educational institutions, especially in the context of Hijaiyah letter instruction.   Keywords: Learning Strategies, Hijaiyah Letters, Reading Skills, Early Childhood

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of digital game-based learning using Baamboozle in Islamic Religious Education (IS) teaching on halal and haram (permissible) topics in elementary schools. The focus of the study was directed at increasing students' learning engagement and creative thinking skills, as well as strengthening their Habits of Mind (Habbits of Mind) during the learning process. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the use of Baamboozle created an interactive learning environment, encouraged active student participation, and increased courage in expressing opinions and working collaboratively in groups. Furthermore, students demonstrated the development of Habits of Mind, such as persistence in problem-solving, flexibility of thinking, the ability to control impulses, and metacognitive awareness of their thinking processes. These findings indicate that the integration of gamification-based digital media in Islamic Religious Education (IS) learning not only contributes to conceptual understanding of the material but also supports the development of students' character and reflective thinking patterns.
