Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence interest in learning Arabic at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Madrasah Tsanawiyah and the teacher's efforts to improve this interest. This qualitative study describes and analyzes the phenomenon in Arabic language learning in the classroom. To collect data, observation of the learning process, interviews with students, Arabic teachers, and the head of the madrasah, and documentation were used. This study used students and Arabic teachers as data sources. The results showed that several factors that influenced students' interest in learning Arabic at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 were learning methods, educational facilities, family and school environments, the ability to read and write the Qur'an, students' educational backgrounds, and teacher character. To improve students' interest in learning Arabic, teachers did the following: providing opportunities for students to participate actively, providing exercises or assignments, using appropriate methods, connecting lessons with what they already knew, and explaining the objectives of the lesson before the lesson began.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of Al-Muwazanah in the science of balaghah and examples of the application of parallelism in classical Arabic language. Al-Muwazanah is a part of muhassinat al-lafdziyah that focuses on balance and symmetry in sentence structure or the repetition of patterns in two or more parts of a text. Al-Muwazanah is divided into two main types: parallelism in form (structural) and parallelism in meaning (thematic). This research employs a qualitative approach using the method of library study. Based on the analysis, numerous examples of Al-Muwazanah can be found in classical texts, demonstrating the beauty and balance in message delivery.

Abstract

Discussions about calligraphy as an art in an Islamic context have eternal appeal, highlighting the beauty and depth of meaning in every stroke of the letters, especially in the Al Quran. The art of calligraphy is not only a visual art but also an important bridge to understanding and learning Arabic. Arabic has a crucial role in Islamic education, not only as a means of religious communication but also as a broad window into Islamic history and literature. In this context, Arabic Language Education students at UIN North Sumatra found an interest in calligraphy as an enrichment in learning, opening up space for cultural and artistic exploration related to the Arabic language. This research adopted a qualitative descriptive method to explore the relationship between interest in calligraphy and Arabic writing skills among Arabic Language Education students at UIN North Sumatra. Through interviews and literature analysis, this research highlights the role of interest in calligraphy in improving Arabic writing skills. The research results show that interest in calligraphy significantly influences students' proficiency and talent in writing Arabic. Students with both interests and talents tend to have better support, while those with only interests need more support. This research highlights the importance of interest in calligraphy in improving Arabic writing skills, illustrating the role of supporting factors and the difference between talent and interest.
