Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Household waste management in Patrang Village, Jember Regency, still faces the challenge of low community awareness in sorting waste at the source. This community service activity aims to enhance residents' knowledge and attitudes through an educational approach based on the Theory of Planned Behavior. The methods include pretest surveys, counseling, practical demonstrations, and posttests with 20 respondents. The pretest results showed that 90% of respondents had not yet sorted waste, although most were aware of the negative impact of improper waste disposal. After the education, there was a significant increase in understanding and pro-environmental attitudes, especially the readiness to sort waste at home. These findings indicate that educational and participatory approaches are effective in encouraging changes in waste management behavior. It is recommended that similar programs be conducted sustainably and involve more residents to support the creation of a clean and healthy environment.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in the national economy, including the aquaculture subsector, such as catfish, which has great potential but whose performance has not yet been optimized. This research aims to analyze the influence of human resource management, innovation, and entrepreneurial characteristics on the performance of catfish farming MSMEs. The research was conducted in June 2025 in Ngawi Regency, East Java, involving the entire population of 55 MSME actors through the saturated sampling method. This study uses the variables of HR Management (X1), Innovation (X2), Entrepreneurial (X3), and MSME Performance (Y), which are analyzed using multiple linear regression after undergoing a series of classical assumption tests. The results show that simultaneously, the three variables significantly affect the performance of MSMEs, but partially, only the innovation variable has a significant impact on the performance of catfish farming MSMEs.

Abstract

Oil palm is one of the plantation commodities with high economic value. Post-harvest processing at an industrial scale generates substantial waste, which requires proper management to prevent environmental pollution. Oil palm waste contains organic materials that can be utilized to help improve soil fertility. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of applying oil palm waste in enhancing the growth of oil palm seedlings. The research used a Completely Randomized Factorial Design (3 x 3 x 3), indicating the presence of three factors, each consisting of three levels. Factor 1 was Empty Fruit Bunches (EFB) of oil palm, Factor 2 was the dosage of boiler ash, and Factor 3 was the dosage of nitrogen element from urea fertilizer, resulting in 27 treatment combinations. Each treatment was replicated five times, bringing the total number of plants in this study to 135. Data were analyzed with and F-test; at a 5% significance level, further analysis was using Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT). The results indicated that the application of solid oil palm waste, such as EFB, boiler ash, and nitrogen supplementation, did not significantly affect plant growth. The most effective and optimal dosage for promoting oil palm seedling growth was found in the treatment N2P2Q1 (30 g EFB + 30 g boiler ash + 2 g nitrogen). Based on these findings, increasing the dosage of EFB is recommended to further maximize the growth of oil palm seedlings. The results of this study can be utilized by the palm oil industry to integrate waste such as empty fruit bunches (EFB) and boiler ash into site-specific sustainable fertilization systems, thereby helping to reduce dependence on inorganic fertilizers, improve soil fertility, and support better environmental management.
