Abstract

Male infertility is a growing concern in reproductive health, affecting millions worldwide. Despite its significant impact on couples' ability to conceive, it remains underexplored compared to female infertility. This study offers a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of male infertility research, identifying trends, key contributors, and emerging areas of focus. By analyzing publication patterns, leading journals, influential authors, and collaborative networks, we aim to provide a nuanced understanding of the current state and future directions of this research field. The insights gained are expected to guide future investigations, enhance collaborations, and inform policymakers and clinicians about this evolving area. A systematic literature search was conducted in Scopus and Web of Science databases to retrieve relevant publications on male infertility. ScientoPy was used and bibliometric indicators, such as publication output, citation analysis, author collaboration networks, and keyword co-occurrence analysis, were used to explore the intellectual structure and research trends in this domain. Visualization tools, including VOSviewer, were employed to present the findings. The analysis included 2726 publications spanning from 2014 to 2024. The results reveal the most productive authors, influential journals, and highly cited publications in the field. Key research themes, emerging topics, and the evolution of the research landscape are discussed. Collaborations among authors, institutions, and countries are also examined to identify the intellectual structure and global research networks. This analysis provides valuable insights into the current state of research on male infertility The findings highlight the critical areas of focus, influential studies, and collaborative patterns that have shaped the field. Implications for future research directions, evidence-based practice, and potential areas for interdisciplinary collaboration are discussed.

Abstract

Adolescent reproductive health knowledge remains suboptimal due to insufficient access to accurate, evidence-based educational resources. This challenge is further compounded by the dissemination of unreliable information, resulting in misconceptions and improper health practices. This study presents a community-based initiative aimed at enhancing reproductive health literacy among students of SMAN 1 Pekanbaru, with a particular focus on integrating the use of natural resources as a preventive strategy. The program addresses gaps in structured reproductive health education and leverages locally available natural resources to foster sustainable health practices. The initiative encompasses structured activities, including socialization sessions for students and educators, comprehensive training on reproductive health and the utilization of natural resources, and the deployment of technology to facilitate information dissemination. Implemented by a multidisciplinary team from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Abdurrab, the program is supported by ongoing mentorship and systematic evaluations using surveys and interviews. This initiative underscores the potential for sustained impact through partnerships with schools, local health agencies, and community organizations. By enhancing awareness and encouraging the adoption of natural, sustainable practices, the program serves as a translational application of research findings, with the potential for scalability to other educational institutions and broader community settings.

Abstract

The importance of special attention to mothers and children in health services is reflected in the high maternal mortality rate (MMR), which shows the quality of health services in a region. Pregnant women's knowledge of the danger signs of pregnancy is a key factor in preventing complications and death. Maternal and Child Health (KIA) books and pregnancy class programs are one of the efforts to increase this knowledge. This research aims to increase pregnant women's understanding of the danger signs of pregnancy through counseling in Sungai Beras Hilir Village. The methods used were counseling using KIA books, discussions and demonstrations by the Kulim Jaya Community Health Center team and KKN students. The results show an increase in pregnant women's knowledge about the danger signs of pregnancy and prevention of preeclampsia after being given counseling. In conclusion, this activity is effective in increasing pregnant women's understanding of the importance of knowing the danger signs of pregnancy and preventing them, as well as motivating them to carry out routine health control.

Abstract

Curcuma longa (turmeric) is a widely known herbal plant due to its active compound, curcumin, which possesses anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory properties. This review aims to evaluate the preventive effectiveness of Curcuma longa in the fields of obstetrics-gynecology (obgyn), pediatrics, and anatomical pathology. The review was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Literature was searched from PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar for studies published between 2015 and 2025. Keywords used included: "Curcuma longa", "curcumin", "prevention", "obstetrics", "gynecology", "pediatrics", "anatomic pathology", and "herbal medicine". Articles were selected based on inclusion criteria and evaluated for quality using the JBI Critical Appraisal Tool. Of the 785 articles found, 19 studies met the inclusion criteria. In the obgyn field, curcumin was effective in preventing preeclampsia and endometriosis through modulation of inflammation and angiogenesis. In pediatrics, curcumin showed protective effects against respiratory and gastrointestinal disorders. In anatomical pathology, curcumin was found to inhibit preneoplastic cell transformation and suppress early histopathological changes. Curcuma longa shows great potential as a preventive agent across various medical disciplines. However, further clinical trials with strong study designs are needed to support its application in routine clinical practice

Abstract

Menstrual disorders and premenstrual syndrome (PMS) are common gynecological conditions that significantly impact women's quality of life and productivity. Herbal medicine, used both traditionally and supported by scientific evidence, offers a promising preventive approach. This study aims to systematically evaluate the effectiveness of herbal medicine in preventing menstrual disorders and PMS. A systematic literature search was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines using databases such as PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and the Cochrane Library for articles published between January 2013 and December 2023. Out of 1,143 articles identified, 26 studies met the inclusion criteria. The most frequently studied herbs included Vitex agnus-castus, Zingiber officinale, Curcuma longa, and Foeniculum vulgare. Several randomized controlled trials reported significant improvements in PMS symptoms and menstrual cycle regulation. These findings support the potential of herbal medicine as an effective preventive strategy; however, further high-quality clinical trials with standardized preparations and long-term follow-up are needed for clinical validation.

Abstract

This community service activity through the Real Work Lecture (KKN) program aims to increase students' understanding and awareness of the importance of personal branding as a strategy for forming a positive identity for Generation Z. The socialization was held on August 28, 2025, at SMA Negeri 4 Siak Hulu, Teratak Buluh Village, targeting 12th grade students. The methods used were face-to-face counseling through PowerPoint presentations, interactive discussions, and evaluations in the form of pre-tests and post-tests to measure the level of understanding before and after the material was delivered. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in the average student understanding score, from 14.70 on the pre-test to 22.55 on the post-test, with a difference of 7.85 points. A paired t-test also showed a significant difference (p < 0.001), confirming that personal branding socialization is effective in improving student understanding. Thus, this activity not only adds to students' knowledge but also provides them with practical skills in building a positive self-identity, increasing their self-confidence, and preparing them to face the challenges of education and work in the digital age.
