Abstract

In learning, teachers often only deliver material conventionally in class, namely using the lecture method, causing students to be inactive when learning takes place. Using the right method or model is very important to increase student activity. Therefore, this research aims to foster aspects of student activity in learning science and science class IV semester II TP 2024/2025 at SDN 5 Anjani. Improving the quality of learning applies a problem-based learning model with the lesson study model and its implementation is carried out in 3 activities, namely: 1) Plan (planning), Do (implementation and observation), and See (reflection). This research was conducted in two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II. The research sample was class IV students at SDN 5 Anjani, semester II of the 2024/2025 academic year, with a total of 22 students. The results of this research show an increase in students' activeness in science learning from cycle I to cycle II, namely indicators of activeness in collaborating, activeness in asking questions, activeness in answering, and activeness in discussion. Increased student activity due to the implementation of the Lesson Study-based Problem Based Learning model.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of mathematics learning management at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah level, integrated with Ethnomathematics, covering the planning, implementation, and evaluation conducted by mathematics teachers. The research was conducted at MTs Negeri 1 Lombok Timur in grades VII, VIII, and IX using a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out in a natural setting using various techniques, including observation, interviews, document studies, and data triangulation to ensure the validity, credibility, and consistency of the research data. The methods used involved participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings of the study include: (1) Teachers have a good understanding of the curriculum and its development. (2) Teachers demonstrate competence in managing mathematics learning integrated with Ethnomathematics. (3) Challenges exist in managing mathematics learning when linked to Ethnomathematics. This study discusses the management of Mathematics Learning Integrated with Ethnomathematics at Madrasah Tsanawiyah, focusing on learning management, teacher understanding, and classroom implementation. The results indicate that although all teachers understand the curriculum, only 57.14% have an in-depth understanding of Ethnomathematics. While most teachers emphasize lesson planning (85.7%), only 28.57% apply Ethnomathematics-based learning models. The main challenges include limited teacher understanding, time constraints, and low student readiness. Efforts made to address these challenges include lecture and discussion methods, as well as the integration of Ethnomathematics in learning. However, the application of Ethnomathematics still requires improvement through further training and support to be effectively implemented and to contribute to the preservation of local culture.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the impact of integrating Islamic values into mathematics learning on improving students’ learning motivation at MTs N 1 East Lombok. The background of this research is based on the dichotomy between mathematics as a scientific discipline and religious values, which has contributed to low levels of students’ intrinsic motivation. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data triangulation techniques, including observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of 30 seventh-grade students and a mathematics teacher at MTs N 1 East Lombok. The implemented learning model integrated Islamic values through structured stages, including planning and implementation based on Problem Based Learning. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ learning motivation. The average intrinsic motivation increased from 2.86 to 4.22 (gain = 1.36), while extrinsic motivation increased from 3.16 to 4.26 (gain = 1.10). The effect size values were categorized as large (d = 1.25 for intrinsic motivation; d = 0.98 for extrinsic motivation), indicating strong practical effectiveness of the intervention. The highest improvement was observed in the indicator of awareness of learning as a form of worship. These findings indicate that the integration of Islamic values is capable of transforming students’ learning orientation from purely cognitive to meaning-oriented learning. The implications of this study highlight that mathematics learning based on the integration of religious values contributes to the development of holistic intelligence, encompassing both intellectual and spiritual dimensions
