Abstract

Designing and developing systems capable of monitoring ground tremors in real-time and providing early warning before major earthquakes occur, increasing speed and accuracy in detecting potential earthquakes. This technology is known as an Internet of Things (IoT)-based earthquake monitoring and early detection system that uses motion sensors. To detect seismic activity, the system uses several motion sensors connected to the Internet of Things network. These motion sensors measure changes in ground vibration and transmit the data to a central server, which will process it to detect possible earthquakes. This research uses a methodology consisting of several stages. First, primary data is collected from motion sensors located in various earthquake-prone locations. This data is sent to a central server over the internet network. Furthermore, digital signal processing algorithms are used to analyze data to distinguish normal ground tremors from those that can signal earthquakes. This algorithm was created to identify suspicious changes in the intensity and frequency of ground vibrations. The system then sends a warning or notification to the user's device, such as a smartphone or computer, if a potential earthquake is detected. According to BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency) Earthquake intensity scale (GIS) states the impact caused by earthquakes. This scale is arranged more simply by having only five levels, namely I-V, where each level has its own meaning, level I is marked with white and level II is marked with green and level III is marked with yellow and level IV is marked with orange and the last level V is marked with red, and each level has its own meaning. The results show that the designed system can detect vibrations with high accuracy and provide early warning within seconds after suspicious seismic activity is detected. In addition, this system has a speed of sending data from the sensor to the server and good performance in the use of the internet network. IoT-based motion sensors allow for broader and decentralized monitoring of earthquakes. So, this Internet of Things-based earthquake monitoring and early detection system can be a good solution to improve earthquake disaster preparedness. By applying these technologies in different earthquake-prone areas, they can help spread and respond to potential earthquakes more quickly

Abstract

Kajian Islam sebagai disiplin ilmu telah mengalami pertumbuhan pesat, dipengaruhi oleh meningkatnya minat terhadap Islam di dunia Barat, kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi, serta perubahan sosial dan politik di dunia Islam. Dalam konteks ini, tafsir Al-Quran memegang peran krusial sebagai fokus utama kajian Islam. Artikel ini menggunakan metode kajian literatur untuk mengeksplorasi berbagai model pendekatan tafsir yang digunakan dalam kajian Islam. Model-model tersebut mencakup perspektif tradisional seperti tafsir bi al-ma'tsur dan bi al-ra'y, hingga pendekatan kontemporer seperti tafsir tematik dan interdisipliner. Fokusnya pada interpretasi Al-Quran sebagai sumber utama ajaran Islam menyoroti pentingnya pemahaman yang mendalam dan relevan dengan konteks masa kini. Dengan tujuan untuk memberikan gambaran komprehensif tentang peran pendekatan tafsir dalam kajian Islam, artikel ini memiliki manfaat signifikan bagi para akademisi dan pemerhati kajian Islam, membantu mereka memahami dan memilih model pendekatan tafsir yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka.

Abstract

Hadith Criticism (Naqd al-Ḥadīṡ) is an important discipline developed by scholars to examine and verify the authenticity of narrations claimed to originate from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Its main objective is to differentiate between Sahih (authentic) hadiths and Da'if (weak) or Mawdhu' (forged) hadiths. This research aims to analyze and compile the practical stages of Hadith Criticism so that it is easily understood by beginner students. By using a descriptive-analytical literature review method on the foundational books of Hadith science, this research summarizes the criticism process. This research shows that Hadith Criticism is an integrated, two-dimensional process. First, Sanad Criticism (Chain of Narration), where the Hadith must fulfill five main conditions (the chain is connected, the narrator is just ('ādil), ḍābiṭ (strong in memory), is not shādhdh (anomalous), and is not mu'allal (possessing a hidden defect)). Second, Matn Criticism (Hadith Content): Examining the conformity of the hadith's content with the Qur'an and established principles of Shari'ah. The conclusion of this research is that the systematic understanding and application of the Hadith Criticism methodology are fundamental prerequisites in Islamic studies. This research contributes by presenting this complex methodology as a step-by-step guide to enhance the students' ability to filter and accept the pure Sunnah of the Prophet.
