Abstract

Stunting is caused by various factors, such as nutritional intake during pregnancy or infancy, lack of maternal knowledge about nutrition before or during pregnancy, and postpartum conditions that impact intelligence, susceptibility to diseases, and overall health. The provision of Supplementary Feeding (PMT) involves offering safe and high-quality snacks for toddlers, prioritizing food quality and safety. An innovative approach to addressing this issue involves utilizing local wisdom by processing catfish into cookies. This initiative was carried out at Posyandu Flamboyan, Jaharun B Village, Galang, Deli Serdang, involving 50 toddlers and their mothers attending the posyandu activities. The results showed that all toddlers experienced weight gain and enjoyed the cookies provided. Considering stunting is a serious issue, this program should be continued by encouraging local stakeholders to promote fish farming in the community and explore other catfish-based food innovations.

Abstract

Pregnancy causes various physiological changes, including in the musculoskeletal system, which often trigger complaints of back pain, particularly in the third trimester. This pain can interfere with the comfort and quality of life of pregnant women. One non-pharmacological intervention that can be used to reduce pain is effleurage massage therapy. This study aims to implement the therapy to reduce the back pain scale in third-trimester pregnant women at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic of Tk II Putri Hijau Hospital, Medan. The research method used is a descriptive case study on two patients, using a maternity nursing care approach from assessment to evaluation. Inclusion criteria included third-trimester pregnant women (28–40 weeks) who are primigravida, experiencing back pain, and not having any comorbidities or obstetric complications. The intervention was carried out for three consecutive days, each session lasting 15 minutes, with evaluation using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The results showed a decrease in pain levels from moderate (6 and 5) to mild (2 and 1). In conclusion, effleurage massage is effective in reducing back pain in third-trimester pregnant women. This study is expected to serve as a reference for future research to further explore the effectiveness of this therapy more broadly and measurably.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Mental disorders are syndromes characterized by patterns of individual behavior associated with distress symptoms affecting one or more essential human functions- psychological, behavioral, and biological. These disorders are not only marked by fundamental disturbances in thought and perception but also by abnormal or blunted affect. Social isolation and withdrawal is a condition in which an individual has difficulty or is unable to interact with others, leading to feelings of neglect, rejection, loneliness, and difficulty establishing communication. An intervention that can be applied to address this issue is Social Skills Training (SST), a structured learning process aimed at improving communication skills in individuals with mental disorders to enhance social interaction and identify interpersonal problems. This descriptive case study design was conducted through a psychiatric nursing process from assessment to evaluation on two patients diagnosed with social isolation and withdrawal at Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ildrem Mental Hospital, Medan. The results showed that after implementing Social Skills Training (SST) using SP1 to SPS strategies over three days (08.00 to 18.00 WIB, six sessions), both respondents successfully improved their ability to communicate and interact effectively. The conclusion and recommendation indicate that Social Skills Training (SST) with five strategies was effectively implemented and improved communication skills as well as social engagement. This study suggests that SST can serve as a reference for future research in psychiatric nursing care for patients experiencing social isolation and withdrawal. ABSTRAK Gangguan jiwa merupakan sindrom dari pola perilaku individu yang dihubungkan dengan suatu gejala distres pada satu atau lebih fungsi penting manusia, yaitu fungsi psikologis, perilaku, dan biologis, dan gangguan ini tidak hanya ditandai oleh penyimpangan yang mendasar dari pikiran dan presepsi, serta adanya efek yang tidak wajar atau tumpul. Isolasi sosial menarik diri merupakan kondisi dimana seseorang mengalami  kesulitan atau tidak dapat berinteraksi dengan orang di sekitarnya, klien dengan masalah ini merasa diabaikan, tidak diterima, merasa kesepian, dan kesulitan dalam menjalin komunikasi dengan orang lain. Intervensi yang dapat diterapkan untuk mengatasi masalah ini adalah terapi Social Skiil Training (SST) yaitu suatu  proses pembelajaran terencana untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi individu dengan gangguan mental dalam berinteraksi secara sosial, mampu mengenali masalah dalam hubungan interpersonal. Desain penelitian deskriptif dengan jenis  studi kasus melalui proses keperawatan jiwa dari pengkajian sampai dengan evaluasi. Dilakukan pada 2 pasien dengan diagnosa yang sama isolasi sosial menarik diri di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Prof.DR. Muhammad Ildrem Medan. Hasil penelitian setelah dilakukan penerapan terapi Social Skill Training (SST) dengan SP 1 sampai  SP 5  selama 3 hari mulai dari jam 08.00 Wib sampai 18.00 Wib dengan 6 kali pertemuan didapatkan kedua responden berhasil, Dimana pasien mampu meningkatkan komunikasi dan  berinteraksi dengan baik. Kesimpulan dan saran Social Skill Training (SST) dengan 5 strategi berhasil diterapkan dan menunjukkan efektivitas dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi serta keterlibatan sosial. Saran penelitian diharapkan  dapat menjadi acuan dalam melakukan penelitian lanjutan pada kasus keperawatan jiwa dengan isolasi sosial menarik diri dengan menggunakan terapi social skill training (SST).

Abstract

ABSTRACT Mental health is a form of professional service that is an integral part of healthcare services, applying theories of human behavior as its science and the therapeutic use of self as its technique. Auditory hallucinations are one of the most common perceptual disturbances experienced by patients with mental disorders, in which patients hear unreal sounds that cannot be perceived by others. This symptom can trigger risky behaviors such as aggression, social withdrawal, and impaired social functioning. One of the nursing interventions that can be used to reduce the intensity of hallucinations is occupational therapy, particularly through leisure-time activities. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of implementing leisure-time occupational therapy in reducing auditory hallucination symptoms in patients at Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ildrem Mental Hospital, Medan. Occupational therapy is a form of supportive psychotherapy involving activities that foster independence in a manual, creative, and educational manner to adapt to the environment and improve the patient's physical and mental health status, as well as their sense of life purpose. The research method used is a case study involving two patients diagnosed with sensory perception disturbances: auditory hallucinations. The nursing care process included assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Leisure-time occupational therapy activities included sweeping and tidying up the bed, conducted over three days in six sessions. The results showed a decrease in hallucination frequency in both patients after they were able to carry out the activities independently and in a scheduled manner. Conclusion and recommendation: Leisure-time occupational therapy is an effective nursing intervention for managing auditory hallucinations. It is expected that this study can serve as a reference for future research on mental health nursing cases involving auditory hallucinations using leisure-time occupational therapy. ABSTRAK Kesehatan jiwa adalah bentuk pelayanan profesional yang merupakan bagian integral dari pelayanan kesehatan, menerapkan teori perilaku manusia sebagai ilmunya dan penggunaan diri sendiri secara terapeutik sebagai kiatnya. halusinasi pendengaran merupakan salah satu gangguan persepsi yang sering dialami oleh pasien dengan gangguan jiwa, di mana pasien mendengar suara-suara yang tidak nyata dan tidak dapat didengar oleh orang lain. Gejala ini dapat memicu perilaku berisiko seperti kekerasan, penarikan diri, hingga gangguan fungsi sosial. Salah satu intervensi keperawatan yang dapat digunakan untuk mengurangi intensitas halusinasi adalah terapi okupasi,salah satunya adalah aktivitas waktu luang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas implementasi terapi okupasi aktivitas waktu luang dalam menurunkan gejala halusinasi pendengaran pada pasien di Rumah Sakit Jiwa Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ildrem Medan. Terapi okupasi merupakan salah satu bentuk psikoterapi suportif berupa aktivitas yang membangkitkan kemandirian secara manual, kreatif dan edukatif untuk beradaptasi dengan lingkungan dan meningkatkan derajat kesehatan fisik dan mental pasien serta makna hidup tentang terapi okupasi berpengaruh pada perubahan gejala halusinasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus pada dua pasien dengan diagnosis gangguan persepsi sensori: halusinasi pendengaran. Asuhan keperawatan yang dilakukan meliputi pengkajian hingga evaluasi. Kegiatan terapi okupasi aktivitas waktu luang antara lain menyapu, merapikan tempat tidur. proses terapi ini dilakukan selama tiga hari dalam enam kali pertemuan . Hasil penelitian terapi okupasi pada kedua pasien terjadinya penurunan frekuensi halusinasi setelah pasien mampu melakukan kegitan secara mandiri dan terjadwal. Kesimpulan dan saran : terapi okupasi aktivitas waktu luang merupakan intervensi keperawatan yang efektif dalam menangani halusinasi pendengaran. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan dalam melakukan penelitian lanjutan pada kasus keperawatan jiwa dengan halusinasi pendengaran menggunakan terapi okupasi aktivitas waktu luang.
