Abstract

This research aims to design and develop a model of guidance and counseling service strategies that can improve students' learning recall. This research uses a qualitative research method with a literature study approach. This research was conducted in 2024. The data collection process uses screening of various sources, namely national and international journals. Data analysis uses content analysis, which aims to identify the focus of the research. The results showed that guidance and counseling services are a series of professional activities carried out systematically and planned with the main objective of helping individuals, especially students, deal with various problems that hinder their development and learning process. This study concluded that guidance and counseling services that use various psychological and educational strategies, such as stress management techniques, mnemonic methods, and concentration exercises, proved effective in improving students' learning memory. This research also contributes to developing guidance and counseling theory, especially in improving students' memory.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara mendalam tentang prinsip kerahasiaan dan privasi dalam praktik konseling melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif berbasis studi literatur. Dalam praktik konseling, menjaga kerahasiaan dan menghormati privasi klien merupakan aspek etis yang fundamental, yang menjadi landasan utama dalam membangun kepercayaan antara konselor dan klien. Penelitian ini menyoroti empat hasil utama. Pertama, prinsip kerahasiaan (confidentiality) diidentifikasi sebagai kewajiban moral dan profesional seorang konselor untuk tidak mengungkapkan informasi yang diperoleh dari klien tanpa izin eksplisit, kecuali dalam kondisi tertentu. Kedua, batasan-batasan kerahasiaan seperti kewajiban melapor ketika ada ancaman terhadap keselamatan diri klien atau orang lain, pengakuan akan tindakan kriminal, serta perintah pengadilan menjadi pertimbangan etis yang harus dipahami secara komprehensif oleh praktisi konseling. Ketiga, privasi dan perlindungan informasi klien menjadi penting dalam konteks hukum dan profesional, di mana konselor wajib menyimpan data dan catatan konseling secara aman, serta tidak menyebarluaskan informasi tanpa persetujuan tertulis dari klien. Keempat, isu kerahasiaan dalam konteks konseling keluarga menimbulkan tantangan tersendiri karena melibatkan lebih dari satu pihak, sehingga konselor harus mampu menetapkan batasan komunikasi dan kerahasiaan di antara anggota keluarga yang terlibat. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa pelanggaran terhadap prinsip kerahasiaan dan privasi dapat merusak hubungan terapeutik dan menurunkan efektivitas proses konseling. Oleh karena itu, konselor dituntut untuk memiliki pemahaman mendalam mengenai etika profesi, undang-undang yang berlaku, serta ketrampilan interpersonal dalam menangani isu-isu terkait kerahasiaan dan privasi. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pentingnya pelatihan berkelanjutan dan penguatan kode etik profesi bagi para konselor, guna menjamin bahwa nilai-nilai dasar privasi dan kerahasiaan tetap terjaga dalam setiap praktik konseling.
