Abstract

The digitalisation of da’wah refers to the utilisation of online platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter to disseminate Islamic teachings. This transition from traditional to digital da’wah is being embraced by three online Islamic communities: NU Garis Lucu, AISNU, and Pondok Sanad. The primary question this study addresses is: How do these online da’wah communities employ digital platforms to propagate Islamic teachings, and how do consumers of digital da’wah respond to these methods? The study aims to analyse the da’wah methods employed by these communities and to explore how consumers of digital da’wah engage with them, including their preferences and the platforms they favour. A mixed-methods approach, combining both qualitative and quantitative research, is employed. Qualitative data is gathered through interviews with community members and consumers of digital da’wah, alongside direct observations of the activities of the three communities. For the quantitative component, a survey of 100 respondents examines their reactions to digital da’wah. The findings reveal that NU Garis Lucu, AISNU, and Pondok Sanad adopt gentle, non-violent methods (Al-mauizah hasanah) and tailor their approaches to different contexts (Al-hikmah). The methods employed by these communities were generally well received by the respondents.

Abstract

Morals and Sufism have an important role in shaping human personality, especially for students as the next generation of the nation. This is important because by having good morals, various other things will follow as well. Morals in Islam are not only related to behavior, but also reflect the spiritual relationship between the individual and his God. Meanwhile, Sufism as a spiritual practice aims to achieve self-purity and get closer to Allah. This study reviews the relationship between morals and Sufism, including linguistic approaches and terminology, as well as its benefits in human life. In historical development, Sufism has developed through various schools and figures who contributed to the spread of spiritual values in society, including in Indonesia. The positive impacts of Sufism include the formation of an attitude of sincerity, inner peace, and piety, while the negative impacts can be a tendency to isolate oneself in an extreme way. This study confirms that morals and Sufism are interrelated in shaping humans who have noble morals and are oriented towards spiritual values.

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of social resistance and criminalization in the case of a large-scale poultry farm development in Cibetus, Padarincang, Serang, Banten. The research highlights how the implementation of development projects without adequate consultation and community consent has triggered conflicts related to environmental degradation, public health, and the right to a safe living space. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with affected residents, community leaders, and civil society organizations, as well as through documentation analysis and field observations. The findings reveal that the local community responded to the project through various forms of organized resistance, including peaceful protests, public advocacy, legal actions, and direct confrontation. These actions were met with repressive state responses, including the arrest and prosecution of residents without proper legal procedures. The criminalization of citizens involved in the resistance underscores a broader pattern of structural injustice, where legal instruments are used to suppress civic participation and protect corporate interests. This study concludes that the conflict in Cibetus reflects a deeper imbalance in power relations between the state, corporations, and civil society. The resistance demonstrated by the community is not merely an objection to a development project but a demand for justice, recognition, and the protection of fundamental rights. The research emphasizes the need for inclusive and participatory governance that respects environmental and social rights in the planning and implementation of development policies.
