Abstract

Kata kunci: pengabdian masyarakat; kader kesehatan; partisipasi masyarakat; demam berdarah; pengendalian penyakit AbstractDangue Hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is still a serious health problem in Indonesia. To control its spread, cooperation from all parties is needed, especially the active role of the community. In this case, health cadres play an important role as a bridge between medical personnel and the community. This community service activity aims to increase the role of cadres in educating and socializing dengue control to the community. The community service was conducted in Medan City, precisely on Jalan Platina 2, Neighborhood 8, Titipapan Village. The method used was training, counseling, and mentoring to five health cadres who act as educators for the community. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with five informants, consisting of one cadre leader and four members of the DHF cadre. The interviews aimed to understand the communication strategies used by the cadres in delivering information to the community. In addition, observations were made on the application of interpersonal communication and persuasive approaches in the socialization of DHF control. The results of the community service showed that direct heart-to-heart communication (interpersonal), persuasive approaches, and the use of local media such as posters or loudspeakers in the local environment, proved effective in increasing community awareness and involvement. The role of cadres is very important because they are the ones closest to the community and can convey information in a way that is easily accepted. The activeness of cadres in delivering messages and establishing good relationships with residents is one of the keys to successful dengue control at the local level.  Keywords: community service; health cadres; community participation; Dangue fever; disease control

Abstract

Primary health care is a very important first-level service in the health system, especially in remote and low-income areas. The development of digital technology has great potential to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of primary health care through integration in management strategies. This article is a literature study that aims to explore the role of technology in primary health care management strategies based on the results of recent research. Data were obtained from various national and international scientific journals between 2021 and 2025 through searches on databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, and ScienceDirect. The results of the analysis show that the use of technology such as electronic medical records, telemedicine, and mobile health applications can improve access, service quality, and managerial efficiency. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure, digital literacy, and human resource readiness are still major obstacles. This study recommends the need for contextual adaptive strategies to optimize the use of technology in primary health care, especially in developing countries like Indonesia.
