Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of outing class learning in stimulating students' learning motivation, which is expected to be a reference for contextual learning innovation. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through direct observation and interviews with teachers, school administrators, and students at Jogja Green School. The data obtained were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify the main themes related to the impact of outing class learning on students' learning motivation. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the outing class method significantly increased students' learning motivation. Learning that involves direct experience in nature as a learning medium creates higher involvement, provides freedom to choose activities that suit students' interests, and improves character development and environmental awareness. This learning not only improves students' academic knowledge, but also life skills that can be applied in everyday life. These findings indicate that a more personal and contextual learning approach can be effective in increasing students' learning motivation.

Abstract

Artikel ini bertujuan menganalisis peran sistem numerasi, nilai tempat, dan operasi bilangan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman matematika siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan menelaah sepuluh artikel nasional dalam kurun waktu sepuluh tahun terakhir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa numerasi merupakan fondasi penting dalam pembelajaran matematika, karena membentuk kemampuan memahami bilangan, membaca data, dan memecahkan masalah. Pemahaman nilai tempat terbukti berperan dalam membangun struktur bilangan secara konseptual, sehingga siswa mampu membaca dan menulis angka dengan benar serta menerapkannya dalam operasi hitung. Penerapan operasi bilangan menjadi wadah untuk mengaplikasikan numerasi dalam berbagai konteks nyata sehingga meningkatkan kemampuan analisis dan pemecahan masalah. Pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan media konkret, model berbasis masalah, serta peran guru sebagai fasilitator terbukti mendukung peningkatan hasil belajar dan kepercayaan diri siswa. Dengan demikian, penguatan numerasi sejak awal pendidikan dasar menjadi investasi penting untuk kesiapan siswa menghadapi materi matematika yang lebih kompleks dan tuntutan abad ke-21.

Abstract

The use of concrete media in science education is one of the efforts to help students understand concepts through direct experience. The use of concrete media in learning has been carried out optimally and has played a role in increasing students' interest in learning, as seen from the increased attention, involvement, and interest of students during the learning process. This study aims to: 1) describe the process of using concrete media in science learning; and 2) analyze the impact of using concrete media on increasing the interest of fifth-grade students at Jarakan Public Elementary School in learning. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation of teachers and fifth-grade students at Jarakan State Elementary School. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that: 1) the use of concrete media was carried out in a planned manner and was adapted to the learning material. Concrete media helped students understand concepts more clearly through direct observation. Teachers also adjusted their strategies to overcome the limitations of media and learning time; and 2) the use of concrete media had a positive impact on students' interest in learning, as shown by increased attention, activity, and interest among students in participating in learning.
