Abstract

Mahalnya minyak goreng saat ini menyebabkan banyak ibu rumah tangga rela mengantri untuk membeli, sampai sampai waktu seharian habis untuk mengantri minyak. Selain mahal minyak goreng ini tergolong langka di pasaran oleh sebab itu, muncul ide pembuatan minyak goreng dengan bahan dasar selain kelapa sawit dan kelapa. Salah satu limbah yang melimpah dan banyak di temui adalah limbah padat dedak padi (bekatul). Melimpahnya jumlah limbah padat penyosohan padi yaitu dedak di Indonesia berpotensi untuk dijadikan minyak pangan. Minyak pangan berbasis dedak padi dapat djadikan sebagai alternatif pengganti minyak pangan berbasis kelapa saawit, karena minyak dedak padi mengandung senyawa fitokimia dalam jumlah tinggi, antioksidan dan beberapa jenis lemak. Minyak dedak yang dihasilkan oleh ibu ibu di desa bantengan ini berkolaborasi dengan mahasiswa Teknik Kimia UNIPMA. Dimana rendemen minyak 16%, mengandung antioksidan yang tinggi (tocorefol, tocotrienol dan oryzanol). Hasil ini termasuk dikategorikan baik. Hasil minyak dedak yang dihasillkan masih digunakan untuk perorangan atau kelompok ibu ibu PKK di Desa Bantengan sendiri. Hal ini dikarena masih banyak warga yang masih ragu dengan minyak yg telah dibuat karena belum melalui uji yang terstandarisasi sesuai BPOM. Pengembangan produk minyak deda sebagai food supplement dan minuman antioksida serta diversifikasi produk olahan padi dapat meningkatkan nilai tambah produk

Abstract

Liquid waste from the textile industry contains harmful dyes that can damage the environment. Pollution to the environment can be minimized by processing dye waste before being discharged into rivers or sewers. The dye waste treatment process can be carried out using the adsorption method. The adsorbent used was non-activated and acid-activated eucalyptus leaf waste (HCl 2 M). The solution used as adsorbate is malachite green. This study aims to optimize the absorbance level of eucalyptus (Melaleuca cajuputi) leaf waste against malachite green dye using the Langmuir adsorption isotherm method. The variables used are the mass variation of the adsorbent, the contact time and the adsorption isotherm model. The absorption efficiency value produced by the adsorbent of eucalyptus leaf waste with 2 M HCl activation was 87.4279%. Meanwhile, the non-activated adsorbent is 86.0290%. For time variations of 10 minutes, 15 minutes and 20 minutes on 2 M HCl activated adsorbent resulted in an absorbance of 0.026; 0.022; and 0.02. Based on the graph of the relationship between Ce and Ce/Qe for the non-activated adsorbent, R2 was obtained at 0.7039 while the 2 M HCl activation was 0.966. So, the eucalyptus leaf waste can be used as an adsorbent without a carbonization process, only needs to be given activation treatment using an acid solution.

Abstract

The implementation of organic waste management through the utilisation of black soldier fly (BSF) cultivation media has been employed in Ngraket Village, Balong District, Ponorogo Regency, with the objective of reducing environmental pollution. The community service activity spanned four weeks and included socialization, practice, and evaluation. Black soldier fly (BSF) larvae utilize organic waste as feed, producing economically valuable residue for livestock nutrition. N-Gain test results demonstrated a significant increase in partner knowledge, exceeding 76%, confirming the effectiveness of the program. BSF utilization is expected to support waste reduction, prevent pollution, and increase village income. Follow-up activities are proposed to support the sustainability of this program.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian ini berfokus pada pelatihan pembuatan roll-on aromaterapi berbasis minyak kayu putih untuk meningkatkan kemandirian komunitas LMDH Tani Mulyo, Jawa Timur. Pelatihan ini bertujuan mengoptimalkan potensi lokal minyak kayu putih, yang sebelumnya hanya dijual dalam bentuk mentah, menjadi produk bernilai tambah. Dengan memperkenalkan teknik sederhana, seperti pencampuran bahan aktif (cineol) dan pengemasan roll-on, peserta pelatihan diharapkan mampu menghasilkan produk yang lebih praktis dan kompetitif.Metode pelatihan mencakup survei kebutuhan, transfer teknologi, dan pendampingan produksi. Selain itu, monitoring dilakukan untuk memastikan keberlanjutan dan efektivitas program. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman, keterampilan teknis, serta antusiasme masyarakat dalam memproduksi dan memasarkan roll-on aromaterapi. Inovasi ini membantu diversifikasi pendapatan dan membuka peluang usaha berbasis produk turunan minyak kayu putih.Program ini menekankan pemberdayaan berbasis sumber daya lokal, dengan mengintegrasikan prinsip keberlanjutan dan peningkatan ekonomi komunitas. Melalui pendekatan ini, petani diharapkan menjadi lebih mandiri, inovatif, dan mampu bersaing di pasar yang lebih luas.

Abstract

Perkembangan dunia pendidikan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan mutu dalam proses pembelajaran bagi mahasiswa. Proses pembelajaran secara efektif dan efisien mempengaruhi kompetensi mahasiswa. Salah satu cara yang dapat digunakan melalui penggunaan modul ajar. Keberadaan modul ajar perlu adanya kajian pengembangan dengan menyesuaikan perubahan. Peran penting terhadap keberadaan modul ajar perlu adanya kajian sebagai bagian dalam proses perbaikan. Penelitian ini dibatasi terhadap pengembangan modul ajar menggambar teknik pada lingkup Fakultas Teknik, Universitas XYZ Madiun. Metode yang digunakan selama penelitian menggunakan pengembangan Model 4-D. Hasil pengembangan modul ajar menggambar teknik menunjukkan terjadi perubahan hasil belajar mahasiswa dengan perolehan ketuntasan mencapai 81,25 %. Nilai effect size dari penggunaan modul ajar diperoleh 1,89 masuk kategori tinggi sehingga berdampak signifikan terhadap capaian nilai yang diperoleh mahasiswa.

Abstract

MA Sakti Ngebel, a secondary education institution in Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency, has excellent potential to develop more context-based chemistry learning. MA Sakti students have previously struggled to understand fundamental chemistry concepts, particularly in relating them to everyday phenomena. Students tend to memorize formulas without understanding the meanings and applications of the concepts. Therefore, an effort is needed to implement simple, applicable, and school-specific learning innovations. One relevant approach is the implementation of Fun Chemistry Learning based chemistry practicums. The purpose of this community service (PKM) activity is to strengthen the understanding of chemistry concepts at MA Sakti Ngebel Ponorogo through FCL-based chemistry practicums. The stages of this PKM activity are program socialization, training, implementation of FCL learning innovations, mentoring, evaluation, and program sustainability. The N-gain analysis of the pretest and posttest results indicates that the increase in students’ knowledge of chemistry concepts falls in the moderate range. The results of the overall satisfaction questionnaire showed that the lowest level of satisfaction was in the aspect of time management and events during the PKM activities (45% of students considered it very satisfactory), while the highest level of satisfaction was in the aspect of motivation to learn chemistry after the PKM activities and the effectiveness of the FCL training carried out (both of which 70% of students considered it very satisfactory).

Abstract

Treatment of organic waste management remains a significant challenge in residential communities because waste segregation and utilization are still not optimally implemented. This condition was also identified in Griya Sejahtera Hills Housing Estate, Madiun Regency, where household organic waste was commonly mixed with inorganic waste, increasing the amount of waste transported to the final disposal site. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and practical skills of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) members in converting household organic waste into liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) through the application of appropriate technology. The program employed a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach combined with a learning by doing method, consisting of observation, socialization, pre-test, training, hands-on practice, mentoring, monitoring, post-test, and evaluation. Twenty PKK members participated in the program. The results demonstrated an improvement in participants' knowledge and practical skills in producing liquid organic fertilizer from household organic waste, as well as increased awareness of sustainable household waste management. Participants were able to independently produce and apply liquid organic fertilizer to home gardens. Furthermore, the program encouraged community commitment to implementing sustainable organic waste management practices, contributing to the reduction of household organic waste and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goals 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and 13 (Climate Action).

Abstract

This study aimed to formulate and characterize bar soap based on coconut oil and olive oil with the addition of rose essential oil (Rosa hybrida) as an implementation of green chemistry principles. Essential oil was extracted from fresh and dried rose flowers (75 g and 100 g, four replications each) using the Soxhlet method with n-hexane solvent, followed by simple distillation. The best essential oil (fresh flowers, 100 g) was formulated into three soap variations: F1 (100% coconut oil), F2 (100% olive oil), and F3 (50:50 combination), each with 5 mL essential oil added. Characterization included organoleptic, pH, foam stability, antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli (well diffusion method), and hedonic tests by 55 panelists. Dried flowers produced a larger oil volume (average 8.8 mL) than fresh flowers (2.45 mL), while fresh flowers produced a sharper aroma. All formulas met SNI 3532:2021 with pH 9.65–10.61. The highest foam stability was achieved by F1 (95.65%), followed by F3 (89.47%) and F2 (87.50%). Antibacterial activity of all formulas was classified as weak (inhibition zones of 1.61–3.11 mm). F3 was the most preferred formula, with the highest estimated selling price (IDR 4,000). The application of green chemistry is reflected in the use of renewable raw materials, relatively safe processes, and biodegradable products.
