Abstract

This study aims to describe of the Quantum teaching Model with a Scientific approach that can improve Student Learning Outcomes in Class VIII B SMP Negeri 13 Palu on the material around and the Area of the Circle. This research is Classroom Action Research model by Kemmis and Taggart which consists of four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, reflecting. This research was conducted in two cycles. In the first cycle the number of students who completed was 14 students with 58,33% completeness percentage and in the second cycle there were many student who completed 19 students with 76% completeness percentage. The result of observations of teacher activity in the good category and have increased in the second cycle in the very good category. The result of observation of student activities in the first cycle are in the good category and have increased in the second cycle in the very good category. The subjects of this study were 25 students and three were selected as infomants, the result showed that learning by collaborative learning models Quantum teaching with a scientific approach could improve student learning outcomes in class VIII B of SMP Negeri 13 Palu on the material around and the area of the circle, with six components namely : (1) Grow, (2) natural, (3) name, (4) demonstrate, (5) repeat, and (6) celebrate

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a description of students' numeracy literacy based on their mathematical anxiety in solving Two-Variable Linear Equation System problems. This study was conducted at Bala Keselamatan Palu Junior High School. The study employed a qualitative approach involving three eighth-grade students selected based on levels of mathematical anxiety (high, moderate, and low).  The research subjects were selected based on the results of a mathematical anxiety questionnaire, taking into account the recommendations of the mathematics teacher. Data were collected through written Two-Variable Linear Equation System problem-solving tests and semi-structured interviews and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s qualitative data analysis model.  The results indicate that students with low and moderate mathematical anxiety were able to meet all numeracy literacy indicators, although procedural weaknesses were observed in students with moderate anxiety. In contrast, students with high mathematical anxiety were only able to meet one numeracy literacy indicator.

Abstract

Kecemasan matematika sering didefinisikan sebagai perasaan cemas yang dialami seseorang saat berinteraksi dengan matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor penyebab kecemasan matematika pada siswi dengan mengacu pada empat indikator, yaitu somatik, kognitif, afektif, dan pengetahuan matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuesioner kecemasan matematika dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan mengacu pada teknik analisis data dari Miles & Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecemasan matematika pada siswi disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, baik internal maupun eksternal. Faktor eksternal meliputi pengalaman negatif dalam belajar matematika dan tekanan sosial dari lingkungan sekitar. Sementara itu, faktor internal melibatkan persepsi terhadap matematika, kurangnya rasa percaya diri, rasa takut melakukan kesalahan, dan ketakutan akan penilaian orang lain. Oleh karena itu, perlu diterapkan strategi pembelajaran yang dapat mengurangi kecemasan matematika dan meningkatkan rasa percaya diri siswa dalam belajar matematika.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif terhadap tiga subjek yang dipilih berdasarkan tipe Adversity Quotient (AQ) mereka, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes tertulis serta wawancara semiterstruktur yang dianalisis melalui tahap kondensasi, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek tipe climber memiliki pemahaman masalah yang baik, mampu berpikir logis, bekerja secara mandiri, serta teliti dalam perhitungan maupun pengecekan ulang, bahkan aktif mencari strategi alternatif saat menghadapi kendala. Sementara itu, subjek tipe camper memahami masalah namun kurang konsisten dalam mencatat dan merencanakan strategi, serta cenderung mencari bantuan pihak lain ketika kesulitan karena kurangnya rasa percaya diri dan kemandirian meskipun memiliki potensi berpikir tingkat tinggi. Di sisi lain, subjek tipe quitter tidak mencatat informasi penting, tidak memiliki strategi pemecahan masalah, dan sangat mudah menyerah sehingga memerlukan bimbingan lebih lanjut dalam memahami persoalan serta mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis.
