Abstract

ABSTRACT Tempe Lake is a natural tourist destination with significant potential for development, particularly in providing environmentally friendly accommodation facilities. This study aims to apply the concept of organic architecture according to David Pearson in designing a tourist hotel in the Tempe Lake area, emphasizing the balance between buildings, the environment, and people. The research method includes a literature study on organic architecture principles, site analysis to understand the characteristics of the surrounding environment, and the exploration of applying these principles in hotel design. The primary focus of the design is sustainability, achieved through the use of natural materials, the implementation of renewable energy, an efficient waste management system, and spatial planning that promotes harmonious interactions between tourists and nature. The results of this study produce a tourist hotel design concept that functions not only as accommodation but also as an integral part of the natural ecosystem of Tempe Lake. By adopting the principles of organic architecture, the hotel is expected to provide a more immersive lodging experience that blends with the environment while strengthening the concept of sustainable ecotourism in the area. The implications of this study contribute to the development of sustainable tourism facility design and serve as a reference for the further implementation of organic architecture in the tourism sector in Indonesia.
