Abstract

This study aims to describe translation error patterns from Indonesian into English found in the Wonderful Kepri Tourism Guide book. The data in this research are the erronously translated words, phrases and clauses. The samples of the data were collected from several pages in the book. Types of errors are classified into syntactic errors including usage, punctuation, grammar, and syntax. Semantic errors include spelling, tenses, addition or omission of word elements, terminology or diction and free translation. With reference to the findings of this study, the researcher provides a more accurate translation in accordance with the Language of Tourism (LoT) specification and in accordance with the original text so that the message delivered reaches the target audience. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for Provincial Tourism Office of Kepulauan Riau to translate tourist guide books accurately and carefully in the hope that the number of tourism visits especially English-speaking tourists increases in the following years ahead.

Abstract

Memperoleh pendidikan yang layak bagi setiap anak merupakan kewajiban orangtua, begitu juga halnya dengan anak dalam keluarga nelayan Laweung di Kabupaten Pidie, antara lain terhadap kebutuhan penyediaan finansial dan sarana bagi pendidikan anak serta perhatian dalam bimbingan dan pembinaan rumah tangga. Penelitian ini berusaha menemukan peranan keluarga nelayan Laweung terhadap pendidikan khususnya pada anak usia SMP di Laweung Kabupaten Pidie. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Untuk mendapatkan data yang akurat dan terpercaya , peneliti menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan angket, baik dengan tokoh masyarakat nelayan Laweung Kabupaten Pidie maupun dengan orang tua siswa, serta dengan siswa itu sendiri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum perhatian orang tua dalam keluarga nelayan Laweung terhadap pendidikan anak khususnya dalam hal penyediaan sarana dan prasarana sudah dilakukan dengan baik, anak selalu diingatkan untuk pergi ke sekolah, selalu menasihati dan membimbingnya, membiasakan disiplin, selalu menegur anak jika ada kesalahan yang mereka lakukan, komunikasi yang harmonis dengan anak.

Abstract

Pendidikan Islam dapat diwujudkan dengan upaya mengarahkan, membimbing anak didik dan--yang lebih penting dari itu menumbuhkembangkan potensi-potensi alamiah yang diterima anak sejak ia dilahirkan. Potensi-potensi itulah yang dikenal--dalam pendidikan Islam sebagai fitrah. Pengembangan fitrah dalam pendidikan Islam selayaknya dilakukan dengan menjalankan aktivitas pembelajaran sebagai objek yang utuh dan mempunyai kebutuhan-kebutuhan yang berangkat dari potensi-potensi yang ia miliki. Potensi-potensi manusia yang harus dikembangkan dalam pendidikan Islam berupa: Potensi dasar, Bakat dan kecerdasan, Instink (ghârizah), Karakter, Nafsu/dorongan, Keturunan/hereditas. Oleh karena itu proses pendidikan tidak hanya menuntut transfer ilmu pengetahuan dan nilai sikap kepada peserta didik, akan tetapi juga kemampuan pendidik yang profesional dengan tidak mengenyampingkan aspek sosio-kultural di mana manusia itu dibesarkan. Bahwa urgensi pendidikan Islam dalam pengembangan fitrah merupakan proses pembentukan individu untuk mengembangkan fitrah keagamaannya, yang secara konseptual dipahami, dianalisis serta dikembangkan dari ajaran Al-Qur’ân dan Al-Sunnah melalui proses pembudayaan dan pewarisan serta pengembangan kedua sumber Islam tersebut pada setiap generasi dalam sejarah umat Islam dalam mencapai kebahagiaan dan kebaikan di dunia dan akhirat.

Abstract

Game online sangat berdampak pada perkembangan mental anak yang ada di Gampong Lambada Lhok Aceh Besar. Ada beberapa game online yang dimainkan oleh anak Lambada Lhok seperti real time strategy, war game, luna, dotta, mobil legend. Adapaun metode penelitian ini memakai pendekatan kualitatid dengan cara peneliti melakukan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi pada lokasi penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukan di lapangan memang tidak penulis dapati perilaku-perilaku yang menyimpang, hanya saja perilaku yang ketagihan dalam bermain game dan sedikit berdampak pada lemahnya mental si anak tersebut. Anak-anak yang bermain game online berdampak lemah pikiran si anak. Kata kunci: Dampak Game Online; Mental Anak

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the correlation between students’ metacognitive strategy and their self-efficacy in speaking skills at the third grade of language major of MAN Tanjungpinang. The subject of this research was all of the students of the third grade of language major of MAN Tanjungpinang. The object of the research is students in the third grade of language major of MAN Tanjungpinang. The population of this research was 197 students of the third grade in MAN Tanjungpinang with 19 of the students being used as samples of the research. To collect the data, the researcher used observation and questionnaires. To analyze the data the researcher used descriptive statistics with a Pearson Product Moment and tested of the significance of the correlation coefficient. The result indicated that the value of the correlation coefficient (r) is 0.425, with level of correlation is moderate because it is in the coefficient interval between 0.40 - 0.599, while the value of tcomputed is greater than the value ttable (1,935>1,734) and the significance value is 0,035, which is 0,035<0,05 (1-tailed). H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It means that there is a significant correlation between students’ metacognitive strategy and their self-efficacy in speaking at the third grade of language major of MAN Tanjungpinang at 0,05 level (1-tailed).

Abstract

The teacher's competencies are as follows: 1) Paedagogic Competence, is the teacher's understanding of students, designing and implementing learning, evaluating learning outcomes and developing students to actualize their various potentials. 2) Personal competence, is a personal ability that reflects a solid, stable, mature, wise and authoritative personality and becomes a role model for students and has noble character. 3) Social Competence, is the teacher's ability to communicate and interact effectively with students, fellow educators, educational staff, parents/guardians of students and the surrounding community. 4) Professional Competence, competency in mastering learning material broadly and in depth which includes mastery of curriculum subject matter in schools and the scientific substance that overshadows the material. Competency development efforts are the ability of a teacher to carry out obligations in a responsible and appropriate manner to achieve effective and efficient learning outcomes. Efforts to develop teacher competence are as follows: 1) certification program, 2) increasing teacher competency and professionalism, 3) participating in teacher upgrading, 4) attending teacher deliberations in subject areas, 5) attending courses, and 6) increasing knowledge through mass media or the media electronic.

Abstract

Companies worldwide have witnessed an extraordinary data revolution. Big data and data analytics have become highly valuable assets for companies, playing a crucial role in decision-making, business strategies, and competitiveness in an increasingly competitive market. This phenomenon creates a new paradigm that can transform how companies operate and interact with their customers. The objective of this research is to understand the importance of using big data and data analytics in a company. This study includes a comprehensive literature analysis and combines empirical findings from various previous studies. The method used in this research is a literature review approach. This journal is compiled based on the analysis of research findings sourced from various journals accessed through the Google Scholar database. The research results indicate that big data and data analytics have become essential elements in modern companies, helping them make more accurate decisions, improve operational efficiency, and achieve competitive advantages. However, companies must also pay attention to data privacy and security issues to ensure that their use of Big Data complies with applicable regulations.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of students' interest in English lessons, especially in writing descriptive texts. The purpose of this research was to determine the extent to which the use of the Wattpad application could influence students' ability to write descriptive texts. This research was conducted at MA Miftahul Ulum Tanjungpinang in the first-grades students in the second semester of the academic year 2022-2023. This research was a quantitative study using an experimental method. The sample of this research was 50 students. The research method used was a true experiment with a post-test only control design. The result of the research, there is a significant difference between the writing scores of the experimental class and the control class where the post-test scores of the experimental class are higher. It can be seen that the mean value of the control class is 62,12 while the experimental class is 75,64. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of using the Wattpad application on the ability of the first-grade students at MA Miftahul Ulum Tanjungpinang to write descriptive texts. based on student’s feedback using Wattpad application, the results show a strong positive trend across all questions related to Wattpad. Respondents tend to strongly support the statements provided. Mostly showed a positive “Strongly Agree” toward each statement, with only a few being neutral, disagreeing, or strongly disagreeing suggesting that the students had a favorable perception to the Implementation of the Duolingo application on the writing skill of the eleventh-grade students at MA Miftahul Ulum Tanjungpinang.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the problems faced by English education students at STAI Miftahul Ulum in writing courses. The background of this research is based on the importance of writing skills in the academic world and the challenges faced by students in mastering linguistic, cognitive, psychological, and learning environment aspects. This research uses a qualitative approach with the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and observation methods. The research subjects were second, fourth, and sixth-semester students in the 2023 academic year who had taken Basic Writing, Editing & Revising Erroneous Text, and Academic Writing courses. The results showed that the main problems lie in grammatical errors and the organization of ideas related to linguistic aspects. Cognitively, students have difficulty developing ideas and drawing logical conclusions. Psychologically, low motivation and self-confidence exacerbate students' writing abilities. Meanwhile, an unsupportive learning environment, such as limited access to reading sources and minimal guidance from lecturers, becomes a significant external constraint. The conclusion of the study indicates that the appropriate solution involves intensive guidance in grammar, increased opportunities for writing practice, and the creation of an interactive learning environment. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of more effective and structured writing learning strategies.

Abstract

Exceptional children are children who require special needs and treatment because of developmental disorders and abnormalities they experience. Children with special needs have differences that occur in several ways, such as the process of growth and development that experiences abnormalities or deviations both physically, mentally, intellectually, socially and emotionally. This research uses qualitative research which is library research. Secondary data sources from this study are journals and literature that can support the analysis or relate to the discussion. The results of the study show that children with special needs are children with specificities and needs that are different from other normal children. These different specialties include physical, mental, intellectual, social or emotional specialties. So that each specialty requires a different handler. The classification of children with special needs includes blind, deaf, disabled, mute, autism, mentally retarded, mentally retarded and gifted children. Children with their respective specialties certainly need assistance to realize their potential into real achievements with special services.
