Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap masyarakat, khususnya ibu hamil, dalam pencegahan stunting melalui edukasi mengenai pemanfaatan cucurbita moschata. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendampingan pendidikan kesehatan dengan penyuluhan mengenai TRIAD KRR (seksualitas, HIV/AIDS, dan NAFZA), menggunakan media lembar balik dan permainan ular tangga yang berisi pertanyaan tentang kesehatan reproduksi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahap: edukasi berbasis keluarga, pengumpulan data pelaksanaan stunting, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Edukasi dilakukan selama dua minggu, dengan pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur perubahan pengetahuan dan sikap peserta. Sebanyak 20 ibu hamil trimester III mengikuti edukasi ini, dengan hasil yang menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan sikap peserta terhadap pencegahan stunting. Rata-rata nilai pre-test pengetahuan peserta meningkat dari 5,2 menjadi 8,5 pada post-test, sedangkan nilai sikap meningkat dari 5,4 menjadi 8,35. Sebagian besar peserta, yakni 17 orang (85%), berhasil memahami penggunaan cucurbita sebagai bahan pangan dalam pencegahan stunting. Kegiatan ini mendapat penilaian positif dari peserta, dengan lebih dari 90% menilai kegiatan edukasi ini sangat baik. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya pola makan sehat dan pemanfaatan cucurbita dalam mencegah stunting. Abstract

World Health Organization (WHO) data on national health status in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets states that globally around 830 women die every day due to complications during pregnancy and childbirth, with an MMR of 216 per 100,000 live births (WHO, 2019) As many as 99 percent of maternal deaths due to pregnancy, childbirth or birth problems occur in developing countries. The MMR ratio is still considered quite high as targeted to be 70 per 100,000 live births in 2030 (WHO, 2019). WHO estimates that more than 585,000 mothers die each year during pregnancy or childbirth. Research Objectives The Relationship Between Effective Midwife Communication and the Level of Satisfaction with Antenatalcare Services in Pregnant Women at the Kotanopan Health Center UPTD, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra Province in 2024. Quantitative research method using a Cross Sectional approach. This study uses an extensive dataset to see many cases and relationships between variables. The results of the study showed a significant relationship between midwife attitudes (P value = 0.000 <α value = 0.05) and midwife communication (P value = 0.000 <α value = 0.05) with satisfaction with antenatal care services for pregnant women at the Community Health Center

Abstract

Anemia during pregnancy remains a major public health issue, particularly in the third trimester when the risk to both mother and fetus increases. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge level and iron tablet consumption behavior with the incidence of anemia in third-trimester pregnant women at PMB Nurasmalinda, Simpang Kiri District, Subulussalam City, in 2024. This research uses an analytic survey method with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 35 third-trimester pregnant women were selected as respondents using total sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and hemoglobin (Hb) level measurements. The results showed that 57.1% of respondents had low knowledge and 62.9% exhibited poor iron tablet consumption behavior. Bivariate analysis using the chi-square test revealed a significant relationship between knowledge level (p = 0.002) and consumption behavior (p = 0.001) with the incidence of anemia. Furthermore, multivariate analysis using logistic regression indicated that consumption behavior was the most influential factor (p = 0.008; OR = 4.77; 95% CI = 1.516–15.686). It can be concluded that iron tablet consumption behavior is a dominant factor in the incidence of anemia among third-trimester pregnant women. Health education and consistent monitoring are needed to improve knowledge and adherence to iron supplementation.

Abstract

Background: Adolescents are an age group that is prone to various health problems due to a lack of knowledge about nutrition and reproductive health. The rapid physical, psychological, and social changes of adolescence require a good understanding of these two important aspects. This study aims to determine the influence of nutrition and reproductive health education on the level of knowledge of adolescents in Bangun Rejo Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency. Methods: The study used a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 30 adolescents who were selected purposively. The main instrument was in the form of a multiple-choice questionnaire consisting of 20 questions. Data were collected through a pretest, an educational intervention for two sessions, and a posttest three days after the intervention. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed that there was a significant increase in adolescents' knowledge after being educated (p < 0.05). Results: These results show that nutrition and reproductive health education is effective in improving adolescent knowledge. This study recommends that educational institutions and health services continue to integrate adolescent health education programs as part of preventive efforts against nutrition and reproductive health problems. Conclusion: Nutrition and reproductive health education significantly increases the knowledge of adolescents in Bangun Rejo Village. This educational intervention has proven to be effective as a preventive effort in forming healthy living behaviors from an early age.

Abstract

Remaja merupakan kelompok usia yang berada dalam fase penting pertumbuhan dan perkembangan, namun masih rentan terhadap berbagai permasalahan, terutama terkait gizi dan kesehatan reproduksi. Kurangnya pengetahuan tentang pola makan seimbang, anemia, serta rendahnya pemahaman mengenai kesehatan reproduksi dapat berdampak jangka Panjang terhadap kualitas hidup remaja. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui pengaruh edukasi gizi dan kesehatan reproduksi terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan remaja di Desa Bangun Rejo, Kecamatan Tanjung Morawa, Kabupaten Deli Serdang Tahun 2025. Metode : Pengabdian Masyarakat ini menggunakan desain pre-eksperimen dengan pendekatan one group pre-test dan post-test. Sampel sebanyak 40 remaja diperoleh melalui teknik purposive sampling. Intervensi yang diberikan berupa edukasi menggunakan media visual, ceramah interaktif, dan diskusi kelompok. Pengukuran pengetahuan dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah edukasi menggunakan kuesioner tertutup yang telah divalidasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji paired sample t-test untuk melihat perbedaan skor pre dan post-test. Hasil: Hasil Pengabdian masyarakat menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan skor pengetahuan setelah intervensi edukasi. Skor rata-rata pengetahuan remaja meningkat dari 55,4 sebelum edukasi menjadi 84,2 setelah edukasi. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan nilai p = 0,000 (p < 0,05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah pemberian edukasi.. Kesimpulan: Edukasi gizi dan kesehatan reproduksi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan remaja. Program edukasi semacam ini sebaiknya diterapkan secara berkala di lingkungan sekolah maupun desa guna membentuk remaja yang sadar akan pentingnya menjaga kesehatan gizi dan reproduksi sejak dini.
