Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in forming Islamic personalities in students at SDIT Al-Khairiyah Citangkil. This research uses a qualitative approach with an evaluative design that focuses on three main aspects: input (preparation and resources), process (implementation of learning), and output (impact on student personality). Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation, documentation and questionnaires involving students, teachers, school principals and parents. The research results show that the implementation of PAI at SDIT Al-Khairiyah has gone well, although there are several challenges, such as the need to update learning materials to make them more relevant to current developments and the use of technology in learning. Religion-based extracurricular activities also make a significant contribution to the formation of students' Islamic character. Overall, religious education at this school has succeeded in encouraging positive changes in student behavior and morals, such as increasing discipline in worship, politeness, and caring attitudes towards others. However, there are still students who need more attention in consistently practicing religious teachings. This research suggests the importance of increasing collaboration between schools and parents as well as innovation in learning methods to achieve more optimal results in the formation of students' Islamic personalities

Abstract

Student discipline is influenced by internal factors, environment, religiosity, and effective teacher interpersonal communication, which fosters motivation, role modeling, and supports the development of students' character and spirituality. This study aims to determine the influence of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) teachers’ interpersonal communication style on students' discipline and religious devotion, both simultaneously and partially. This quantitative research used total sampling involving 60 students, with data collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, validity, reliability, MANOVA, and t-tests. The analysis results show that teacher interpersonal communication significantly influences student discipline and religious devotion, with a contribution of 78.9%, while 21.1% is influenced by other factors. Based on the t-test (R²), the effect on discipline was 44.13%, while on religious devotion it was 23.45%. Conclusion: positive interpersonal communication also strengthens students' character and internalization of spiritual values through interactions with religious education teachers.

Abstract

The importance of character education from an early age lies in its role in shaping children's personality, morality, and social behaviour as the foundation for holistic development. As the first formal educational institution, Early Childhood Education (ECE) plays a strategic role in instilling these values through various methods and family support. This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of character education management strategies in ECE and to identify the challenges faced in their implementation. The research employs a qualitative case study approach using interview techniques, active and passive observation, and documentation. Data were analysed through source and technique triangulation to ensure the validity and credibility of the research findings. The results show that PAUD-TK ABABILS Sukoharjo designed an Islamic education management strategy by integrating the national curriculum with Islamic character values, employing methods such as nature contemplation (tadabur alam) and experiential learning. The implementation of this strategy includes the development of a vision, learning modules, reinforcement of Islamic values, as well as the development of human resources and infrastructure. Challenges identified include limited teaching staff and diverse student backgrounds. Evaluation is conducted periodically through observations, parent questionnaires, and teacher performance assessments, involving all stakeholders. This evaluation process ensures the program's effectiveness and continuous improvement to foster children's moral and spiritual character from an early age in a holistic manner. Conclusion: An integrated Islamic education management strategy that involves multiple stakeholders is effective in fostering children's character development from an early age through careful planning, implementation, continuous evaluation, and enhancement of educational quality and stakeholder collaboration.
