Abstract

This study examines the impact of budget efficiency policies on labor in the hospitality industry in West Java, focusing on employee reductions in hotels and restaurants. In 2025, the Indonesian government's budget cuts aimed at reducing the fiscal deficit severely impacted the hospitality sector, which relies on government-funded activities like seminars and official travel. Using interviews and secondary data, the study found a sharp decline in hotel occupancy rates, leading to financial difficulties and an estimated 40,000 layoffs. The findings highlight the need for policy adjustments, including financial support for businesses and targeted recovery plans for SMEs, to ensure long-term stability in the region’s hospitality industry.

Abstract

Online media shapes the religious hybridity of Gen-Z, influencing attitudes towards pluralism, spirituality, and challenging conservative religious traditions. This study aims to explore the new culture and its implications for Gen-Z’s religious practices in the context of contemporary society. The research uses a qualitative literature study, with data collected through content analysis of articles. The findings show that Gen-Z is influenced by technological advancements and globalization, which provide them with broad access to information through the internet and social media. They tend to be more inclusive and open to various religious traditions, often combining elements from different religions or creating personal spirituality. Technology also allows them to build digital identities and engage in social activism. Social media plays a significant role in shaping their religious views and practices, though it also presents challenges, such as dilemmas between traditional religious values and modern cultural pressures. Gen-Z requires support to navigate these conflicts and challenges. Conclusion: Gen-Z is influenced by technology and globalization, creating an inclusive and personal religious culture by combining elements of religion and spirituality, accessed through social media.

Abstract

This study examines the welfare issues of private university lecturers in Indonesia who receive substandard wages, by analyzing them through the perspectives of Islamic law and positive law. The objective of this paper is to explore the alignment between the principles of wage justice in Islamic law and the wage regulations within the national legal framework, especially concerning employment in the private higher education sector. The methodology employed is normative juridical with a qualitative analysis of legal documents and Islamic legal literature. The findings indicate that private lecturers are employed under contractual agreements subject to labor regulations, which often fail to provide adequate welfare guarantees. On the other hand, Islamic law emphasizes justice, fairness, and certainty in wage distribution as part of workers' rights protection. The main novelty of this study lies in identifying the gap between the normative ideals of Islamic law and the practical enforcement of positive law in the higher education context. The impact of this research is to propose an integrative legal approach that incorporates Islamic ethical values into wage regulation policies, aiming to improve the socio-economic well-being of academic professionals in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract

The importance of character education from an early age lies in its role in shaping children's personality, morality, and social behaviour as the foundation for holistic development. As the first formal educational institution, Early Childhood Education (ECE) plays a strategic role in instilling these values through various methods and family support. This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of character education management strategies in ECE and to identify the challenges faced in their implementation. The research employs a qualitative case study approach using interview techniques, active and passive observation, and documentation. Data were analysed through source and technique triangulation to ensure the validity and credibility of the research findings. The results show that PAUD-TK ABABILS Sukoharjo designed an Islamic education management strategy by integrating the national curriculum with Islamic character values, employing methods such as nature contemplation (tadabur alam) and experiential learning. The implementation of this strategy includes the development of a vision, learning modules, reinforcement of Islamic values, as well as the development of human resources and infrastructure. Challenges identified include limited teaching staff and diverse student backgrounds. Evaluation is conducted periodically through observations, parent questionnaires, and teacher performance assessments, involving all stakeholders. This evaluation process ensures the program's effectiveness and continuous improvement to foster children's moral and spiritual character from an early age in a holistic manner. Conclusion: An integrated Islamic education management strategy that involves multiple stakeholders is effective in fostering children's character development from an early age through careful planning, implementation, continuous evaluation, and enhancement of educational quality and stakeholder collaboration.
