Abstract

Education is a basic human right and is considered a key tool for national development. Pakistani society follows the universal pattern of differentiated general education and technical education. One hundred and twenty respondents were selected through a convenient sampling technique and were interviewed by a well-structured research tool (questionnaire). Ten respondents were pretested to check and examine the workability of the questionnaire. Collected data was analyzed through appropriate statistical techniques by using SPSS software, and recommendations were made for the improvement of technical and vocational education regarding human resources. The study found that the majority of the respondents belonged to those skilled persons who were agreed with private organizations taking an interest in conducting vocational training courses. During conducting data, it was also observed that the majority of respondents were agreed that their institutes are providing skills according to international standards. Near to half of the respondents were found a tendency toward getting technical-vocational education in our country with a high ratio. The findings of this study will contribute more in the literature in the area of education in human resource management and will also open a new avenue for practitioners as well as for researchers.

Abstract

After becoming a signatory of UNCRPD, inclusive education is a reality for approaching days; however, due to our already weak and socio-religiously confused educational system, teachers and parents of delayed students, are not ready to accept them in mainstream classrooms. The basic reason for such reluctance is lack of awareness and fears of added responsibilities, which may be associated with this major shift in educational methodology. The aim of the research is to understand the attitude and perception of teachers about the inclusive education concept. In this study, mixed-method research (both qualitative and quantitative) was used. The research instrument was developed according to the directions and guidance provided by experts with fourteen items, which were then shared with 100 elementary school teachers belonging from different Federally administered educational institutions in District Okara, and their responses were quantified for analysis. Moreover, interviews of senior teachers from the same educational institutions were also conducted to obtain a clear perspective of the issue. Convenience sampling techniques were used, and descriptive analysis was used to assess responses. Based on acquired data, results were finalized, which showed reluctance by teachers due to lack of awareness as well as fear of additional responsibilities and expectations without any visible incentive. Moreover, neither required human resources nor infrastructures allow an inclusive schooling system to be adopted. Thus, a gradual approach towards implementation of a new concept along with concrete steps by the government is found to be the most viable option for approaching the issue.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to aware students about hand hygiene and also aware them about the negative effects of washing hands without soap. Students of public primary school were the population of the study. The school was selected by means of convenient sampling while participants were selected by purposive sampling. So, for the purpose seminar have been conducted to make students aware about hand cleanliness. One week different activities were conducted to make students habitual and adopt the habits ofwashing hands in their daily routine and in their schools after playing games and after using washroom. Pre and post intervention views have been taken from the teachers and students. Views of the participants indicated that organizing the seminar with practical activities was an effective practice to create awareness among students regarding hands cleanliness. This was a novel study as it explored the basic hygiene issues at primary level and proposed a solution through intervention. The awareness created by this study will be useful for the general health improvement of students. It will make teachers realize the importance and advantages of hygiene for general health of students.
