Abstract

This study aims to develop a contextual-based learning module on "Humans, Places, and Environment" for seventh-grade MTs students. The development of this module is based on a contextual learning approach that links the material to students' daily lives to enhance their understanding and critical thinking skills. The research method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The effectiveness test was conducted through expert validation and student trials using descriptive analysis and the N-gain test. The results showed that the module achieved a high level of effectiveness, with a significant improvement in students' understanding based on the N-gain test. The module was also deemed suitable for use in the learning process based on validation from subject matter, design, and language experts. Thus, the development of this contextual-based module can serve as an effective alternative teaching material that supports students' independent learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe prospective teachers' views on the use of social studies learning media that integrate elements of local wisdom. The background of this study is based on the urgency of presenting contextual learning to better suit students' social and cultural realities. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative with data collection methods in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The subjects in this study were students of the social studies education study program who attended the instructional media course. The findings indicate that the majority of prospective teachers understand the importance of local wisdom as a meaningful learning resource and are able to explore the potential of local culture to be part of the social studies learning material. They also demonstrated innovation in creating learning media that highlight folklore, traditional games, and the surrounding environment. However, there are still obstacles, such as limited resources and access to relevant information. The conclusion of this study confirms that the integration of local wisdom into social studies learning media plays a strategic role in encouraging active student involvement and strengthening cultural identity. However, its implementation requires institutional support in the form of training and the provision of contextual learning resources.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Anyar, Banten, dengan tujuan meningkatkan kapasitas karyawan penginapan dalam mengelola hubungan dengan pelanggan lintas generasi. Permasalahan utama mitra mencakup kurangnya pemahaman terhadap karakteristik pelanggan dari generasi Baby Boomers, X, Y (Millennials), dan Z, keterbatasan penerapan Customer Relationship Management (CRM), serta minimnya pemanfaatan teknologi digital untuk membaca tren pasar dan mengelola umpan balik pelanggan. Program pendampingan dilaksanakan melalui tiga pendekatan, yaitu workshop tentang pelanggan lintas generasi, pelatihan dan implementasi CRM, serta pendampingan digitalisasi layanan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan, simulasi, dan evaluasi pre-test dan post-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman peserta, dengan rata-rata nilai post-test naik sebesar 50,8% dibandingkan pre-test. Peserta mampu merancang kolom evaluasi feedback pelanggan, mengoperasikan sistem CRM sederhana, serta memanfaatkan dashboard analitik media sosial untuk menyusun strategi layanan dan pemasaran berbasis data. Secara keseluruhan, program ini berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi, responsivitas layanan, serta kemampuan adaptasi karyawan dalam menghadapi pelanggan dari berbagai generasi.

Abstract

The demand for effective English communication skills has surged globally, highlighting the need for innovative teaching models in language education. This study explores the impact of the Dual Teaching Model (DTM) within a Participatory Action Research (PAR) framework to enhance communicative English instruction at Institut Agama Islam Nurul Hakim Kediri, Indonesia. The study aimed to assess the model's effectiveness in improving students' fluency, accuracy, pronunciation, and interactional competence. Data were collected through pre and post-tests, classroom observations, focus group discussions, and teacher journals. The findings revealed significant improvements in all components of communicative competence, with the most notable gains in interactional competence (+16.1) and fluency (+14.9). Qualitative data supported these results, highlighting increased student engagement, confidence, and collaborative learning. The study concludes that the DTM fosters a more dynamic and interactive learning environment, promoting both linguistic and affective development. The research contributes to the field by demonstrating the effectiveness of co-teaching in enhancing communicative English instruction and providing insights into its scalability and adaptability for future digital integration.
