Abstract

This research use code-switching and mixing, Merry Riana explores this in the audio episode "Curhat Maudy Ayunda Tentang Perempuan, Jesse Choi, dan Krisis Identitas." This podcast episode examines the obstacles of defining one's identity and surviving life. It talks about learning overseas, taking a break from a demanding work, and changes in lifestyle following marriage to Jesse Choi. To achieve this, the authors use a qualitative descriptive approach that is based on Poplack and Muysken's theories. Code mixing and code switching classifications, such as intra-sentential, tag, and inter-sentential switching, as well as insertion, alternation, and congruent lexicalization code-mixing, are then used to classify the data. The total number of data points from this episode was 100. The outcomes are as follows: The 87 code-mixing data consist of 84 (97%) insertion data, 1 (1%) congruent lexicalization data, and 2 (2%) alternation data. Additionally, only 13 code-switching data (100%) intersentential data were discovered. The podcast did not contain any instances of intrasentential or tag-switching. This study broadens our understanding of code-mixing and code-switching and emphasizes how crucial it is to examine contemporary media in order to understand how linguistic practices are evolving.

Abstract

Community Service Lecture (KPPM) is an academic program that aims to implement science and technology (IPTEKS) in helping communities overcome existing problems. This activity carries a multidisciplinary approach and begins with observation and mapping of the area to design appropriate solutions. One of the locations for the implementation of KPPM is Parparean I Village, Porsea District, Toba Regency, where the majority of the population works as rice farmers and has abundant banana farming. The main problem found in this village is the lack of community skills in processing bananas into high-value products. So far, bananas have only been consumed directly or processed in simple forms such as fried bananas and kolak. Therefore, KPPM activities are focused on education and training in processing bananas into various innovative products, such as chocolate banana chips, kul-kul ice, and banana curry. The main objective of this program is to improve community skills in diversifying banana-based products in order to open up business opportunities and improve their economic welfare. In addition, this program also provides benefits for students by allowing them to apply the knowledge they have learned in college and improve their problem-solving and collaboration skills with the community. The results of this activity show that the community begins to understand the importance of innovation in banana processing and gain new skills in banana-based food production. With ongoing assistance, it is hoped that the community can develop local products that are competitive in the market and create a better economic impact in the long term. KPPM not only provides benefits to the community but also to students and universities in carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in the field of community service.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether pop-up book media assisted by the application of the project-based earning model can be said to be feasible as a learning medium and to determine the increase in the creative dimension of students. This research uses ADDIE development research design and classroom action research (PTK). The results of this study showed a percentage of 86% for media experts who could be categorized as very feasible, 92% for material experts who could be categorized as very feasible, 91% for student responses who were included in the very feasible category. The results of this study also show that there is an increase in the creative dimension of students which can be seen from the acquisition of data in cycle I and cycle II. In cycle I there were 8 students who had criteria to develop according to expectations with a percentage of 32%, then in cycle II as many as 24 students who had criteria to develop very well with a percentage of 96%. So it can be concluded that the media developed in the form of pop-up book media assisted by the project based learning model can be said to be feasible as a learning medium and can increase the creative dimension of students.
