Abstract

One of the functions of the forest is natural disaster such as flood control and the landslide that is how these forests absorb water into the root of the tree. Most forests in North Aceh Regency is protected forest which has undergone deforestation due to the presence of illegal logging and opening of new land like planting oil palm that impact against water infiltration. This research was conducted to identify deforestation forests in 2000, 2003 and 2015 using the techniques of remote sensing by satellite images landsat landsat 7 and 8. The method used was algorithm NDVI to get the classification of forest distribution and the level of deforestation forests based on the density of the vegetation from the Forestry Department 2003. Analysis of the rate of deforestation and loss of vast forests is done by leveraging the value of NDVI and other supporting data. The results showed that the NDVI value for forest distribution based on vegetation density in 2000 was -0,620438 – 0,628743, in 2003 between -0,364238 – 0,530055 and in 2015 between -0,274592 – 0,642049. The rate of deforestation in the district of North Aceh based on the value of the vegetation index (NDVI) yields 3 classes of deforestation are severe deforestation, light deforestation and not deforested, in 2000 there was deforestation of 25,62%, in 2003 it was 99,91% and in 2015 amounted to 15,89%, most deforestation occurs in production forests.

Abstract

Aggregat mud affect the weakening of asphalt adhesion and bonds between aggregate grains which will cause damage more quickly before reaching the design age, one of which is the formation of holes in the road surface layer. The purpose of this study was to measure the effect of variations in silt content on the stability and flow values of Asphalt-coated concrete mix (AC-WC). All tests were carried out using the Marshall test method and each test object became the basis for calculations to analyze the stability and flow values of the AC-WC asphalt concrete mixture with variations in silt content of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. The optimal bitumen content used is 6.7%. Furthermore, marshall testing was carried out on variations in silt content in the aggregate to obtain stability and flow values, stability values tended to decrease from 1048.64 kg to 798.96 kg, this affected the minimum stability value of ≥ 800 kg and flow values tended to increase from 1.54 mm to 3.05 mm, but the discharge value still meets the required limit of ≥ 3 mm with a mud content of 13%. Based on the results of the ANOVA analysis obtained from the test, the stability value shows a significant decrease in the level of stability and the flow value shows an insignificant effect on the proportion of sludge.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The enclosure of the Krueng Matee waters by vegetation can threaten the preservation of underwater biota, such as fish and shrimp due to lack of oxygen and sunlight, thus the water hyacinth plants reproduce as weeds in the waters of the Krueng Matee river, Kuala Ba'U Village and affect the livelihoods of Kuala Ba'U fishermen. One of the efforts that can be made to overcome water hyacinth weeds is to utilize water hyacinth plants for compost. This community service activity aimed to provide skills in processing water hyacinth into compost for the people of Kuala Ba'U Village. The stages in implementing this activity consisted of field observations, carrying out village administration, the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, preparation of materials and a multipurpose counter machine. The result of this community service was the availability of compost from water hyacinth as well as a good response and welcome from the community and community leaders of Kuala Ba'U Village because the community gained knowledge and skills in processing water hyacinth into compost, thereby reducing water pollution and improving the community's economy, especially for farmers. In addition, this activity can also normalize the estuary of the Krueng Matee river from water hyacinth weeds, so fishermen can return to fishing and catching fish.

Abstract

Slums are densely populated settlements that are not habitable, the building density is very high in a very limited area, causing various problems such as being prone to social diseases and diseases. The distribution of slums in an area can be analyzed using geographic information systems as an innovative strategy to visualize geospatial information accurately, allowing for more in-depth and data-based analysis to support decision making. This study uses the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) method. Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) is a statistical analysis that allows researchers to evaluate spatial variations in the relationship between dependent and independent variables, using the Fixed Gaussian kernel function to provide constant weighting across research locations, so that they can understand complex and different spatial relationships in each location. Based on data processing on seven indicators and 16 slum parameters stipulated in PUPR Regulation No. 14 of 2018, Panjang District, Bandar Lampung City, there are 5 sub-districts that are categorized as light slums with slum distribution points spread across various locations without clear concentration. The results of the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) model show that the independent variables (X) and dependent variables (Y) reflect a complex relationship with variable X 11 (non-standard wastewater management system) having the highest coefficient of 0.213830. The results of the GWR model in the ANOVA table show that the GWR model does not provide significant improvement.
