Abstract

Quartz sand is a non-metallic natural resource that can be used to develop various kinds of human needs, however, it is necessary to know in advance the amount and elements contained therein. This research will conduct a study related to the amount of element concentration in quartz sand in Samadua District, South Aceh Regency. The research method used in this research is the X-Ray Fluorescence technique. The results showed that the elements found in the quartz sand samples were Si, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Cu, Sr, Ba, and Eu. From these results, there are three elements that have the highest concentration, namely the element Si as much as 62%, Ca as much as 15.7%, and element K as much as 13.7%.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa pelatihan pengukuran luasan sawah bertujuan memberikan solusi atas permasalahan terkait dengan luasan sawah di Desa Gunung Ketek dan Desa Dalam Kec. Samadua Kab. Aceh Selatan yang datanya tidak diketahui. Solusi yang ditawarkan berupa pelatihan pengukuran luasan sawah, sehingga dapat memberikan informasi kepada masyarakat Desa Gunung Ketek dan Desa Dalam tentang tata cara pengukuran lahan sawah serta dapat menganalisis luasan sawah dan mengetahui informasi luasan sawah dari hasil pengukuran menggunakan alat GPS. Metode yang digunakan berupa penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Adapun tahapan pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian, yaitu Adapun tahapan pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM ini, yaitu survey kondisi lahan sawah, mengajak aparatur kecamatan untuk mengarahkan batas lahan sawah yang akan diukur karena lahan sawah yang diukur berada di tiga Desa, yaitu Desa Gunung Ketek, Desa Dalam dan Desa Tengah yang termasuk wilayah Kec. Samadua Kab. Aceh Selatan. Lalu, melakukan pengukuran dengan pengambilan waypoint, yaitu dengan mengambil titik-titik batas lahan sawah yang diukur menggunakan GPS Garmin, dari hasil waypoint digunakan software map source dan software GIS. Berdasarkan hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM berupa pelatihan pengukuran luasan sawah di Desa Gunung Ketek dan Desa Dalam Kec. Samadua Kab. Aceh Selatan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa luas lahan dan peta sawah ketiga desa tersebut didapatkan perhitungan luas lahan sawah di Desa Dalam adalah ± 1 Ha dan luas lahan sawah di Desa Gunung Ketek berkisar ± 11 Ha, sedangkan Desa Tengah diperoleh luas lahan sawah berkisar ± 2 Ha.

Abstract

The existing nutmeg pulp herbal tea is produced from slice process which resulted with hard and big particle size of the powder. It is estimated to negatively affect the packaging process and defective product might be possible to occur when distribution taking place. Consequently, the study need to be done to produce nutmeg pulp herbal tea with small particle size of the powder using shredding method and define one of its substance quantity, Vitamin C as the comparable data towards the existing nutmeg pulp herbal tea product. The study reveals that the tea powder produced from shredding method is greatly smaller than slice method. Idiometri titration analysis of 5 nutmeg pulp herbal tea produced from shredding method samples shows that the average quantity of Vitamin C quantity is less significant than slice method which is only 3.514%. Thus, shredding method produces small particle size of nutmeg pulp herbal tea powder and containing less Vitamin C.

Abstract

The fisheries and marine sector is one of the significant sectors in Aceh Province where more than 55% population of Aceh depend on this sector. Based on the results found in 2014 data collection, fisheries production by South Aceh fishermen reached 20,370.06 tons / year which was marketed inside and outside South Aceh. The problem to be examined in this study is to determine the flow chart of financial transactions in the marketing of fish at the Fish Landing Center level as part of efforts to determine the quality and safety of the catch. This research is designed to answer how the financial transaction process and payment process between market operators. The type of data used in this study is in the form of primary data and secondary data. Qualitative analysis is carried out descriptively which aims to find out deeply about financial transactions at the Lhok Pawoh Fish Landing Center. The results of this study indicate that the type of transaction used at the Fish Landing Center uses external transactions with the payment method divided into two types, namely cash payments and non-cash payments. Most of financial transaction process carried out by market operators at PPI Lhok Pawoh is using the non-cash payment method, except for muge motor which originating from outside of Lhok Pawoh Village, muge lapak and consumers who buy fish directly to PPI. In addition, It is also found that only 25% of muge motor make cash payments.

Abstract

A study on mineral sand has been carried out in Samadua District, South Aceh Regency. This study aims to determine the mineral phase and the shape of the surface morphology of the mineral sand. The methods used in this research are XRD and SEM-EDX methods. The XRD analysis results obtained that the SiO2 mineral phase was the highest peak, followed by other mineral phases. While the SEM-EDX test results, visually the surface morphology of the sample is clear that it is dominated by white with Si elements as large as 17.62 wt%, Ca elements as large as 04.30 wt%, and K elements as rough as 02.42 wt%. Based on these results it can be concluded that the phase The dominant constituent minerals in mineral sand are the element SiO2 (Silica).

Abstract

Kedai Kandang Village, South Kluet District, South Aceh Regency, is one of the sago-producing areas. In this study, the waste resulted from the processing of sago was used as a reinforcing material for composite materials. This research was conducted to determine the mechanical strength of the composite made from marble waste reinforced with sago fiber waste to be used as rencong Marble souvenir storage. The composition of the mixture in the samples used was 85:10:5, 80:10:10, 90:7.5:2.5, and 80:12.5:7.5. The mechanical strength was determined through tensile strength testing. The results of the tensile test showed that the highest tensile strength values were shown in the sample with the percentage composition of a mixture of resin, marble powder, and sago fiber, 85:10:5. The average maximum stress value obtained is 18.707 N/m². The average modulus of elasticity obtained is 1.462 N/m².

Abstract

Keterampilan dalam mengoperasikan Microsoft Office merupakan kemampuan dasar yang wajib dimiliki mahasiswa untuk menunjang kegiatan akademik maupun administrasi. Oleh karena itu, Politeknik Aceh Selatan menyelenggarakan pelatihan pengenalan dasar Microsoft Office bagi mahasiswa baru penerima beasiswa Pemerintah Aceh Tahun 2025. Tujuan pelatihan ini adalah memberikan pemahaman dan keterampilan praktis dalam menggunakan aplikasi Microsoft Word, Excel, dan PowerPoint. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan pendekatan praktik langsung (hands-on training) yang dipandu oleh instruktur, serta disertai penugasan untuk memastikan pemahaman peserta. Pelatihan ini berlangsung secara intensif dan diikuti dengan antusias oleh mahasiswa baru. Evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam penguasaan keterampilan dasar Microsoft Office. Peserta mampu menyusun dokumen akademik dengan format yang benar, mengolah data melalui tabel dan rumus sederhana di Excel, serta merancang presentasi yang sistematis menggunakan PowerPoint. Keberhasilan ini menegaskan bahwa pelatihan dasar Microsoft Office efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi digital mahasiswa. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini, mahasiswa baru penerima beasiswa tidak hanya dibekali kemampuan akademik, tetapi juga keterampilan teknologi informasi yang relevan dengan kebutuhan dunia pendidikan dan dunia kerja. Pelatihan ini diharapkan menjadi fondasi awal yang dapat mendukung keberhasilan studi serta menambah daya saing lulusan Politeknik Aceh Selatan di masa mendatang.

Abstract

The coconut trees were one of the commodity crops in South Aceh which were multifunctional trees because almost all parts of the coconut tree can be used. One part of the coconut tree that can be used was the coconut tree stump which can be processed into chairs. The aim of this research was to design chairs from coconut tree stumps, made chairs from coconut tree stumps and determine the ergonomic value of coconut tree stump chairs. The result of this research was the creation of a new innovative chair made from coconut tree stumps which has an overall height of 79 cm, chair back height 32.5 cm, chair back width 64 cm, seat depth 46 cm, armrest height 16 cm, and leg height 34 cm. Coconut tree stump chairs were made through several processes, namely the process of taking raw materials, the process of making chair patterns, the scraping process, the sanding and varnishing process. The coconut tree stump chair was a chair that was not ergonomic, because there were several parts of the coconut tree stump chair that did not comply with the concept of ergonomics.

Abstract

kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk workshop dengan tujuan meningkatkan kompetensi siswa SMK Negeri 1 Labuhanhaji Timur Kabupaten Aceh Selatan dalam mengembangkan projek kreatif dan kewirausahaan melalui validasi ide produk dan jasa berbasis prototipe awal. Dalam konteks pendidikan vokasi, kemampuan merancang produk inovatif dan menguji kelayakannya merupakan keterampilan penting yang harus dimiliki siswa agar mampu bersaing di dunia kerja maupun menciptakan peluang usaha mandiri. Workshop ini menghadirkan narasumber Hasbaini, S.Pd., M.Pd., yang memberikan pemahaman mengenai tahapan pengembangan ide, teknik pembuatan prototipe awal, serta strategi validasi ide berdasarkan kebutuhan pasar. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah, diskusi, serta praktik langsung penyusunan prototipe sederhana oleh peserta. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa dalam menganalisis peluang usaha, mengembangkan ide kreatif, serta mempresentasikan prototipe awal secara lebih terstruktur. Selain itu, kegiatan ini berhasil menumbuhkan motivasi dan kepercayaan diri siswa dalam merancang produk yang memiliki nilai guna dan potensi komersial. Secara keseluruhan, workshop ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam memperkuat kompetensi kewirausahaan siswa SMK serta mendukung implementasi pembelajaran berbasis projek secara lebih efektif.
